A Brand is supposed to age as it goes by, following a brand life cycle, as it is not a solid, immutable asset but something of a living creature. Therefore, self-renovation and revitalization efforts are needed, in order to incessantly confirm the self existence through the relationship with the consumer. In 2009 and 2011, 'Beksul', brand in maturity stage tried to revitalize Brand and the brand image two-times. For this study, brand logo and TV commercials of Beksul for revitalization were gathered via TVCF.com and their creative strategy were studied. This study could find that the creative strategy of brand in maturity stage is based on its brand essence and focused on reinforcing brand royalty.
Customer's purchase state consists of purchase inertia and variety-seeking. As the growing brand familiarity triggers the increase of brand attractiveness, customers purchase state will be of inertia. However the excessively growing brand familiarity ignites the decrease of brand attractiveness. Followingly the purchase state will be tend to plunge into the variety-seeking state. The main topic of this study is to validate the asymmetric formation of customer's purchase states between inertia and variety-seeking. In order to follow up the main topic, this article introduces a model to freely describe the velocity of value changes depending upon the purchase states. This model will help overcome the limitation of the past studies having been based on the symmetric value changes. Based on this approach marketer will be able to decide the timing of sales promotions. This research utilized local telecommunication carrier's database of smartphone application purchase/download records. This database was collected from two years (2009 and 2010) span, the time when the smartphones started commodifying in Korea whilst most of the past studies had used purchase data of maturity stage products. From this approach utilizing the introduction stage data in the product life cycle, the probability of brand choice depending upon the purchase state on the early-stage can be probed. Moreover, this study tries to expand the research methodology from the other areas of research by knowledge sharing. Here this study introduces the methodology of section-aggregated multinomial logit to simultaneously estimate the parameters that were included in the plural multinomial logit functions while the plural functions were inter-connected. This adoption of section-aggregated multinomial logit model procedures from the computerized statistics areas is expected to nourish the marketing research for more precise analysis and estimation of effects of marketing activities.
This study explores ways in which Korean companies manage a brand to become a long-run success. In particular, this study focuses on Chamisul, analyzing its marketing strategy, examining its brand life-cycle in terms of introduction, growth, and renewal. Chamisul, first introduced in 1998, has occupied the Korean liquor market as a leading brand for almost a decade. Chamisul's long-run success, in fact, depends upon a number of reasons; first, it has consistently and continuously keeps its own core brand concept and identity. Second, it has built its brand asset by strengthening its emotional ties with customers. The emotional connection that Chamisul has built is based upon the trust between the company who produces the product and the customers who recognize the benefit of drinking Chamisul. Third, the company creates various brand differentiation programs, thereby allowing its customer to get familier with the brand. Finally, the company sets up a clear management standard in Korean liquar market in order to maintain the vitality of the brand, managing Chamisul in accordance with the standard. Seen in this light, Chamisul's success reflects the marketing activities and strategies that play a fundamental role in creating and maintaining a long-run brand. Similarly, its success can be seen to be a model for brand management, telling us how to become a market leader through an effective brand management.
In the highly competitive cosmetic industry, each cosmetic brand is striving to increase its profit by providing excellent product quality and delightful marketing campaigns. In this regard, this study investigates consumers' post-purchasing decision-making processes. It considers the two critical post-purchasing behaviors as repurchasing intention and recommendation intention. We posit customer satisfaction and brand image as the key antecedents of post-purchasing behaviors. The effects of cosmetic quality, price fairness, and event activities on consumer satisfaction and brand image are examined. We conducted a questionnaire survey of women in their twenties, which are critical groups in consumer life cycle of cometic products. Data collected from 163 female respondents were empirically tested against a theoretical framework using partial least squares. Analysis results found that both consumer satisfaction and brand image significantly influence post-purchasing behaviors, respectively. Especially, brand image has a stronger effect on post-purchasing behaviors than customer satisfaction does. Cosmetic quality and price fairness play an important role on customer satisfaction and brand image. However, event activities significantly affect consumer satisfaction, while they do not significantly influence brand image.

The satisfaction of wearing an outfit in daily life can lead to the attitude toward the clothes and further the brand image and repeat purchases; however, satisfaction generated from the moment the outfit was purchased is only temporary. Therefore, it would be necessary to study the antecedent variables that precede daily outfit satisfaction. In the current study, to understand the antecedent variables that influence the daily outfit satisfaction of consumers, in-depth interviews were conducted on thirteen women in their 20s and 30s. The results showed that peoples' outfit satisfaction was dependent on a comparison between their prior expectation and the performance of the outfit based on expectation-performance disconfirmation. The outfit performance was evaluated by themselves or others. Simultaneously, it was found that the others' opinion on the clothes and surroundings influence daily outfit satisfaction. This research helps deepen the understanding on the individual and social influential factors of the temporary satisfaction from purchase to the satisfaction of actually using clothes. This result ultimately intensifies the understanding on the consumption and evaluation of clothes in the whole life cycle of clothing products from purchase to disposal.
This research analyzed the case of Ncsoft to study the organizational learning, exploitation and exploration that create dynamic capability in hypercompetitive environment. First of all, we demonstrated the activities of exploitation and exploration in Ncsoft according to the life cycle of online game industry. An exploitation related to routine, learning and fit with existing environment brings about incremental innovation. In contrast, an exploration associated with non-learning, flexibility with changing environment results in radical innovation. We examined them based on the life cycle of its various game services. NCsoft that built the leading position in online game industry focused the exploitation activities at the stage of beginning period and growth, whereas NCsoft has increased the activities of exploration at period of mature. In addition, the firm conducts an exploration for its brand new game services and R&D. Conversely, An exploitation is conducted for sustainable updating of patch service and marketing and system building. This study analyzed Woori Investment and Securities' industry-leading marketing from both a brand management and a marketing decision-making perspective. By executing a different marketing strategy from its competitors, Woori Investment and Securities recognized recent changes in the asset management and investment markets as an open opportunity, and quickly responded to the market changes. First, the company launched the octo brand as a multi-account product, two years before its competitors offered their own products. In particular, it created a differentiated brand image, using the blue octopus character, which became familiar to the general financial community, and was consistently employed as part of an integrated marketing communications strategy. Second, it executed a brand expansion strategy by sub-branding octo in a variety of new financial products, responding to rapid changes in the domestic financial and asset management markets. Through this strategic evolution, the octo brand became a successful wealth management brand and representative of Woori Investment & Securities. Third, it has converged market research, demand and trend analysis, and customer needs acquired through various customer contact channels into a marketing perspective. Thus, marketing has participated in the product development stage, a rarity in the finance industry. Woori Investment and Securities has a leading marketing system. The heart of the successful product creation lies in a collaboration of their customer bases among the finance companies in the Woori Financial Group. The present study suggested a corresponding strategy for octo brand, which is expected to enter into the maturity stage of its product life cycle. In addition, this study found a need to modify the current positioning strategy in order to position and preserve sustainability in the increasingly competitive asset management market. It also suggested the need for an offensive strategy to counter the number one M/S company, and address the issue of cannibalism in the Woori Financial Group.

Questionnaire survey was conducted to 230 female consumers residing in Seoul and Kyung Gi area from June 18 to 29 in 2007, and 178 were used for data analysis. Data analysis were conducted with SPSS 12 program on the reliability test, factor analysis, cluster analysis, correlation analysis, ANOVA, Duncan's multiple range test. Factors analyses were employed for the attitude toward fashion and shopping, and shopping motives. Four factors were formulated for the attitude toward fashion: interest in fashion, fashion-orientation, fashion leadership and fashion conformity. Six factors for the attitude toward shopping were found: information searching, shopping enjoyment, store patronage, impulse buying, brand-orientation and convenience. Buying motives for fashion goods were classified into 3 factors: for matching & occasion, to-be-in-fashion and for necessity. Four clusters were identified based on the attitude toward fashion: the fashion-interested, the fashion-indifferent, fashion leaders and the individuality-oriented. The radon gas from nature mainly considers a cause of radon problems, and it is closely affect human life cycle. Korean yellow residual soil, Hwangtoh, widely used as a building material, is considered to be one of major sources of indoor radon. However, there have, as yet, been no studies about radon from Hwangtoh in mass market brands. Here, we investigated the indoor radon concentrations and exhalation rates in four Hwangtohs from different brand names and regional features. The Closed Chamber Method (CCM) conducted by a Continuous Radon Monitor (CRM) has been used for the rates of radon exhalation. Based on equations of previous references, the indoor radon concentrations were deducted. As a result, the radon surface exhalation rates resulted in the 1.4208 to 3.0293 Bq·㎡·h-1 range. Significant differences were found among Hwangtohs according to production regions. Materials with higher radon concentration required a longer time to reach a quasi-steady state in a given environment, in other words, the number of half-life cycles increased from a set starting point. The experimentally identified Hwangtohs demonstrated its safety for construction purposes. There exists, so far, a possibility to exert influence radon emanation due to unidentified factors. Therefore, it is necessary to corroborate with more research by increasing the number of Hwangtohs, considering the other references reported high radon exhalation rates. In addition, it is highly recommended that the radon exhalation rates should be measured for all building materials for preventing human health before the material usage.
