The Ilsun Bridge is the world's longest box girder bridge(801m) with corrugated steel webs and has the widest width($21.2{\sim}30.9m$: tri-cellular cross section) among these kinds of composite girder bridges. It has fourteen spans(50m, 10 at 60m, 50m, 2 at 50.5m) where twelve spans are erected by the incremental launching method and two spans by full staging method. Special topics related to the structural safety of prestressed concrete box girder bridge with corrugated steel web in construction stage and service were reviewed. Investigations focus on the span-to-depth ratio, shear stress of corrugated steel webs and optimization of tile length of steel launching nose. The span-to-depth ratio of Ilsun bridge has been found to be well-planned while the corrugated steel web has been designed highly conservative and it has been observed that the conventional nose-deck interaction equation do not fit well with corrugated steel web bridges. As a result, detailed construction stage analysis was performed to check the stress levels and the safety of preceding design conditions. Finally, from the design review of Ilsun bridge, this study suggests optimal design issues which should be of interest in designing a prestressed concrete box girder bridge with corrugated steel webs.
Thermal response induced from nonlinear temperature distribution in composite box gilder bridges depends on several variables(environmental conditions, physical and material properties, location and orientation of bridge, and cross-section geometry). In this paper, parametric study are conducted in order to find the effects of variations of seasons, location and orientation of bridge, sectional geometry and some material properties on the axial deformation, curvature and stresses in composite box girder bridge. A two-dimensional transient finite element model to conduct this parametric studies is briefly presented. Firstly, the effects of the parameters on the diurnal variation of curvature are considered, and for the time of maximum curvature, on the distribution of temperature and stresses of composite box girder sectional are considered. Finally, some considerations about the influence of the parameters on the daily maximum values of axial deformation, curvature and stresses are carried out. The influence of thermal effect on structures is important as much as the influence of live or dead load in some cases. In the design of steel composite bridges, the thermal stresses calculated on the supposition that the temperature difference between the concrete slab and steel girder is $10^{\circ}C$ and the temperature distributions are uniform in concrete slab and steel girder can be underestimated.

Due to the continuous growth of the E-commerce market, the volume of orders that fulfillment centers have to process has increased, and various customer requirements have increased the complexity of order processing. Along with this trend, the operational efficiency of fulfillment centers due to increased labor costs is becoming more important from a corporate management perspective. Using historical performance data as training data, this study focused on real-time box recommendations applicable to packaging areas during fulfillment center shipping. Four types of data, such as product information, order information, packaging information, and delivery information, were applied to the machine learning model through pre-processing and feature-engineering processes. As an input vector, three characteristics were used as product specification information: width, length, and height, the characteristics of the input vector were extracted through a feature engineering process that converts product information from real numbers to an integer system for each section. As a result of comparing the performance of each model, it was confirmed that when the Gradient Boosting model was applied, the prediction was performed with the highest accuracy at 95.2% when the product specification information was converted into integers in 21 sections. This study proposes a machine learning model as a way to reduce the increase in costs and inefficiency of box packaging time caused by incorrect box selection in the fulfillment center, and also proposes a feature engineering method to effectively extract the characteristics of product specification information.

A concrete filled steel tube (CFT) column with stiffeners has preferable behavior subjected to axial loading condition due to delay local buckling of the steel wall than traditional CFT columns without stiffeners. Welding lines in welded built-up steel box columns is expected to behave as longitudinal stiffeners. This study has presented a numerical investigation into the behavior of built-up concrete filled steel tube columns under axial pressure. At first stage, a finite element model (FE) has been built to simulate the behavior of built-up CFT columns. Comparing the results of FE and test has shown that numerical model passes the desired conditions and could accurately predict the axial performance of CFT column. Also, by the raise of steel tube thickness, the load bearing capacity of columns has been increased due to higher confinement effect. Also, the raise of concrete strength with greater cross section is led to a higher load bearing capacity compared to the steel tube thickness increment. In CFT columns with greater cross section, concrete strength has a higher influence on load bearing capacity which is noticeable in columns with more welding lines.
This paper provides the results of the study on the structural behavior of the composite metal deck slab system. The experimental study on composite slabs with trapezoidal and inverse-triangle-top-flange deckplate result, it was found that the geometry of the cross-section was more important than any other factors to ensure the composite action of deck slabs. Hence the inverse-triangle-top-flange of closed box was more effective on the shear slip and deflection than the trapezoidal deck of open shape. These results show that the continuing development of composite deck plate must consider importantly the geometry of the deck. The experimental results were compared with established formulas and were analysed to advance a theory on composite slabs using deckplates.

Dielectric breakdown accidents have been mainly occurred in the vicinity of service entrance section in underground power transmission systems. One cause among them is due to the excessive component value of sheath located around service entrance of cable. In this paper, as one of the alternative to prevent these accidents, the change of cross bond grounding system and the location change of IJ(Insulation Joint) are suggested. Also, to evaluate effectiveness of this changing system, circulating current and induced voltage of sheath were analyzed in steady and transient state. By comparison of the analytical results for the several possible changing systems, a grounding system and location of IJ which has the smallest sheath component values is proposed. In this paper, analysis to evaluate the proposed system is carried out by EMTP/ATPDraw. It can be used as a valuable operational material to prevent accident of the service entrance section in underground power transmission system.

Recent days composite bridge dock is gaining attraction due to many advantages such as light weight, high strength, corrosion resistance, and high durability. In this study, composite deck models of hat, box and triangular section type wore fabricated with VARTM Process. For these models, three point flexural tests wore carried out both in strong and weak axis. The experimental results were compared with each other to determine efficient section profile. It has been demonstrated that composite sandwich deck has strong potentials to be used as bridge deck in the new construction and rehabilitation works.
In order to resolve the problem of increasing traffic entailed by the economic development, road system is reorganization and new highways are built, and long span bridges over 40m are being constructed in environmental and aesthetic considerations. Most long span bridges that are currently being constructed are in general steel box girder and preflex girder bridges; however these types of breiges are less efficiency than PSC I-type girder bridges in terms of construction cost and maintenance. Therefore, in these study, structural efficiency of PSC I-type girders based on section parameters, concrete compressive strength and other design parameter is observed to develope new PSC I-type girder for long span bridges. As a results of analysis, most important design parameters that control the stress of the girder are found to be the top flange width and the height of girder. In this light, the relationship between the two variables is determined and cross-section details of the girder that most appropriates for the long span bridges are proposed. The use of high strength concrete appears to increase the general design span however the increase rate of the span from increasing concrete ultimate strength appears to be reduced depending on the span. Also, the optimal girder spacing is determined through the parameter studies of design span using the proposed girder.
Six specimens are tested to investigate the cyclic behavior of beam-to-column abnormal joints in steel moment-resisting frames, which are designed according to the principle of strong-member and weak-panel zone. Key parameters include the axial compression ratio of column and the section depth ratio of beams. Experimental results indicate that four types of failure patterns occurred during the loading process. The $P-{\Delta}$ hysteretic loops are stable and plentiful, but have different changing tendency at the positive and negative direction in the later of loading process due to mechanical behaviors of specimens. The ultimate strength tends to increase with the decrease of the section depth ratio of beams, but it is not apparent relationship to the axial compression ratio of column, which is less than 0.5. The top panel zone has good deformation capacity and the shear rotation can reach to 0.04 rad. The top panel zone and the bottom panel zone don't work as a whole. Based on the experimental results, the equation for shear strength of the abnormal joint panel zone is established by considering the restriction of the bottom panel zone to the top panel zone, which is suitable for the abnormal joint of H-shaped or box column and beams with different depths.

The train control system used in Gyeongbu-line is classified in ATC, IXL and CTC. The ATC data related to speed and space control for trains are transmitted from wayside to onboard by way of UM71 AF track circuits and BSP Loop. The information transferred by track circuits is composed of operation data which directly influence to the train operation and the information transferred by BSP Loop is used in the section which requires the additional data transmission about the particular track-side environment such as tunnel, hot box detector or insulated section. In this paper, for the BA type turning unit of the UM71 AF track circuits which is mainly used in the linking section of existing and high-speed lines from the opening of the Gyeongbu line till the present, we not only analyze the characteristics of BA but also compare and analyze baseline values and the measured values. With this analysis, we will be able to propose how to solve the problems about operation and maintenance such as track circuit malfunctions of the relevant sections.
