The basic principles in the design of Class II amalgam cavity preparations have been modified but not changed in essence over the last 90 years. The early essential principle was "extension for prevention". Most of the modifications have served to reduce the extent of preparation and, thus, increase the conservation of sound tooth structure. A more recent concept relating to conservative Class II cavity preparations involves elimination of occlusal preparation if no carious lesion exists in this area. To evaluate the ideal ClassII cavity preparation design, if carious lesion exists only in the interproximal area, three cavity design conditions were studied: Rodda's conventional cavity, simple proximal box cavity and proximal box cavity with retention grooves. In this study, MO amalgam cavity was prepared on maxillary first premolar. Three dimensional finite element models were made by serial photographic method. Linear, eight and six-nodal, isoparametric brick elements were used for the three dimensional finite element model. The periodontal ligament and alveolar bone surrounding the tooth were excluded in these models. Three types model(B option, Gap option and R option model) were developed. B option model was assumed perfect bonding between the restoration and cavty wall. Gap option model(Gap distance: $2{\mu}m$) was assumed the possibility of play at the interface simulated the lack of real bonding between the amalgam and cavity wall (enamel and dentin). R option model was assumed non-connection between the restoration and cavty wall. A load of 500N was applied vertically at the first node from the lingual slope of the buccal cusp tip. This study analysed the displacement, 1 and 2 direction normal stress and strain with FEM software ABAQUS Version 5.2 and hardware IRIS 4D/310 VGX Work-station. The results were as followed. 1. Rodda's cavity form model showed greater amount of displacement with other two models. 2. The stress and strain were increased on the distal marginal ridge and buccopulpal line angle in Rodda's cavity form model. 3. The stress and strain were increased on the central groove and a part of distal marginal ridge in simple proximal box model and proximal box model with retention grooves. 4. With Gap option, Rodda's cavity form model showed the greatest amount of the stress on distal marginal ridge followed by proximal box model with retention grooves and simple proximal box model in descending order. 5. With Gap option, simple proximal box model showed greater amount of stress on the central groove with proximal box model with retention grooves. 6. Retention grooves in the proximal box played the role of supporting the restorations opposing to loads.
A comprehensive analysis of wheel force spectrum is conducted to provide the KTX safety evaluation with structural behaviour of Pre-Stressed Concrete (PSC) box bridge due to various high speeds. The wheel spectrum for KTX locomotive running over road and PSC bridge tracks is compared using irregular track responses with numerical models of 170m approach road track and 40m span length of PSC box bridge The high-speed railway locomotive is used as 38-degree of freedom system. Three displacements (vertical, lateral, and longitudinal) and three rotational components (pitching, rolling, and yawing) for one car-body and two bogies are considered in the 38-degree of freedom model. Three dimensional frame element of finite element method (FEM) is used to model of the simply supported PSC box bridge. The irregulation of rail-way is derived using the experiential spectrum density function under assumption of twelve level tracks conditions based on the normal probability procedure. The dynamic analyses by Runge-Kutta method which are able to analyze the high frequency wheel force spectrum. A dynamic behaviour of KTX due to high speeds until 450km/h developing speed with relative time is analysed and compared the characteristics running over the road and PSC box bridge tracks. Finally, the KTX integrated evaluation method of safety between high speed train and bridge is presented.
To investigate the influence of cross section geometries on the behavior of composite beams in the case of small span to depth ratio and deep beams. the static flexural behavior of composite I-beams and Box- beams was evaluated. 12 types of composite I -beams composed of LVL flanges and particleboard or plywood web and 3 types of composite Box-beams composed of LVL flanges and plywood web were tested under one-point loading. The load-deflection curves were almost linear to failure, therefore, the behavior of tested composite beams was elastic. The theoretical flexural rigidity of composite beams was calculated and compared with observed flexural rigidity. The highest value was found in I-W type beams and the lowest value was found in G-P type beams. The difference between theoretical and observed flexural rigidity was small. Theoretical total deflection of tested composite beams was calculated using flexural rigidity and compared with actual deflection. Shear deflection of these beams was evaluated by the approximation method, solid crosss section method and elementary method. The difference between actual deflection and expected deflection was not found in D, E and F type beams. This defference was small in G, H and I type beams or Box-beam.

The automatic tool changer of a machining center consists of a tool magazine and a cam box, and the core components of the cam box are a roller gear cam and a turret. Recently, the roller gear cam of a cam box has been replaced by a ball gear cam. In this study, the design and machining method of ball gear cam for an automatic tool changer was studied. Additionally, an algorithm for a 4-axis post processing method was established from an instrumental formula by designing a ball gear cam, thus preventing machining at the bottom of ball end mill and enabling the ball on the turret to be driven at the entrance and exit of a curve without collision due to machining errors. In conclusion, machining using only the 4-axis method including the C-axis on a BC -Type 5-axis machine produced the desired ball gear cam.
In this paper, the underground box structure is discretized as a system with limited freedoms, and the explosion seismic wave is regarded as series of dynamic force acting on the lumped masses. Based on the local deformation theory, the elastic resistances of the soil are simplified as the effects of numbers of elastic chain-poles. Matrix force method is adopted to analyze the deformation of the structure in elastic half space. The structural dynamic equations are established and by solving these equations, the axial force, the moment and the displacement of the structure are all obtained. The influences of size ratio, the incident angle and the rock type on the dynamic response of the underground box structure are all investigated through a case study by using the proposed method.
With an increase in rail traffic, developing activities around structures of railway have been expanded. Inevitably, the changes to cross though sub-structures of railway have been getting increased. However, this situation affects on the safe operation of trains. Generated wheel load makes on the result in settlement on roadbed and damages on track materials. Therefore, via the numerical analysis were carried out for the box structure and subground using FEM analysis program called. Visual FEA/Geo 4.19. Parametric studies were performed by changing soil depth above box structure constructed in railway embankment. A standard live load was applied to simulate loads from train. Through this study, a minimum required soil depth above subground box structure was recommended based on deformation and stresses in concrete railway system.
PSC box girder is widely used in a domestic bridge and overpass, etc., therefore, the design and construction technique for the PSC box girder is developing day by day. Even if it were so, however, the design for anchorage zone in PSC box girder has depended on common sense and empirical results. And it is the current situation that the designer has difficulty due to inadequacy of provisions in the domestic design code and lack of understanding for behavior of anchorage zone. Besides, the design based on Leonhardt's method is being done in general, but the design may be various even for the same structure because of the difference in a way of applying. In this paper, therefore, anchorage zone in PSC box girder bridge is analyzed and designed by using strut-tie model. Adequacy for the application of strut-tie model is verified by comparison with the way used in current design practice, and this study presents that strut-tie model can be a rational and an economical design than current design methods.

The POSTECH Hand adopting coupled tendon driven technique with planar two fingers is developed. The hand is designed to emulate principal motions of the human hand which has two and three joints respectively. Its kinematic parameters are determined through a parameter optimizing technique to aim at improving the isotropy of fingertip motions with new criterion functions of design. For the control of the hand, tension and torque control algorithms are developed. Based on the virtual stiffness concept, we develop the stiffness control method of a grasped object with redundant finger mechnism and investigate experimentally.
The subway concrete box structure can`t establish expansion joint because of animal power delivery of the subway rail. In this case, As increase of structure volume, it is subjected to cause temperature crack. The temperature crack due to the heat of hydration classified a nonstructural crack. but it has a bad effect on durability of concrete structures. especially, in case of a subway concrete box structure, when a water-proof facilities is beaked on an outer-wall, the water leakage occurs through a penetration crack generated from a wall of the concrete structure too. This paper, for the subway concrete box structure, examined a condition of temperature crack occurrence by a heat of hydration concerned external temperature from analysing by a three dimensional finite element method.
