경계영역검출을 이용한 영상 데이터압축에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Data Compression of Image using the Extraction of Boundary Region)

  • In this papers, we proposes a efficient compression method of an image using the extraction of boundary region of DCT in MPEG-1. DCT coefficients have from low frequency to high frequency various components. After performing DCT to an image, the data is compressed to contain the boundary Region by quantization, and the information of boundary Region can be extracted by inverse DCT. In those, I chose frequency components susceptible to the boundary through the many experiences. In this paper, boundary can be selected by dividing low frequency by big quantization coefficient and dividing high frequency by small quantization coefficient without degrading visual qualify in MPEG-1. Also it is predicted that to reduce high frequency value will be good in noisy environments.

  • The precise form of singular functions, singular function representation and the extraction form for the stress intensity factor play an important role in the singular function methods to deal with the domain singularities for the Poisson problems with most common boundary conditions, e.q. Dirichlet or Mixed boundary condition [2, 4]. In this paper we give an elementary step to get the singular functions of the solution for Poisson problem with Neumann boundary condition or Robin boundary condition. We also give singular function representation and the extraction form for the stress intensity with a result showing the number of singular functions depending on the boundary conditions.

컬러와 형태에 기반을 둔 상표 영상 검색 시스템 (The Brand Image Retrieval System Based on Color and Shape)

  • 영상 검색 시스템이란 영상이 갖는 다양한 특징을 바탕으로 똑같거나 유사한 영상을 검색하여 제공하는 시스템이다. 본 논문에서는 영상의 컬러와 형태를 기반으로 한 상표 영상 검색 시스템을 제시한다. 영상을 영역별로 분할하고 영역별 컬러 분포 히스토그램을 추출하여 컬러 정보로 이용한다. 경계면 추출, 무게 중심 추출, angular 샘플링 등의 전처리 과정과 무게 중심으로부터 경계면 까지 거리의 합, 표준 편차, 장/단축 비율을 계산하여 형태정보로 이용한다. 이렇게 추출된 컬러와 형태 정보를 이용하여 유사성 측정을 통한 검색을 수행한다.

Research on Water Edge Extraction in Islands from GF-2 Remote Sensing Image Based on GA Method

  • Aiming at the problem of low accuracy in the water boundary automatic extraction of islands from GF-2 remote sensing image with high resolution in three bands, new water edges automatic extraction method in island based on GF-2 remote sensing images, genetic algorithm (GA) method, is proposed in this paper. Firstly, the GA-OTSU threshold segmentation algorithm based on the combination of GA and the maximal inter-class variance method (OTSU) was used to segment the island in GF-2 remote sensing image after pre-processing. Then, the morphological closed operation was used to fill in the holes in the segmented binary image, and the boundary was extracted by the Sobel edge detection operator to obtain the water edge. The experimental results showed that the proposed method was better than the contrast methods in both the segmentation performance and the accuracy of water boundary extraction in island from GF-2 remote sensing images.

지상라이다 데이터를 이용한 구조물 윤곽선 자동 추출 알고리즘 연구 (An Automatic Extraction Algorithm of Structure Boundary from Terrestrial LIDAR Data)

  • 본 논문에서는 지상라이다를 이용한 구조물의 자동 윤곽선 추출을 다룬다. 본 논문에서는 사진을 이용하지 않고 전처리를 하지 않은 데이터를 직접 이용하여 구조물의 정면 윤곽선을 추출하는 것을 제안한다. 또한, 구조물의 크기와 데이터 수 즉, 라이다로 측정한 포인트 수를 고려한 효율적인 데시메이션 방법을 제안하였다. 이렇게 데시메이션된 데이터에서 라이다 데이터의 주요 특성중 하나인 거리정보를 이용하여, 구조물과 구조물이 아닌 점으로 구별해낸다. 그 후, 분산을 이용해 지역적으로 절대 좌표값이 큰 값과 작은 값을 찾아내고, 이를 윤곽선 후보 점으로 한다. 이렇게 찾아낸 구조물 윤곽선의 후보점들을 이어 윤곽선으로 만들고 최종적으로 정리하여 좀 더 현실에 가까운 윤곽선을 자동으로 추출하는 방법을 제안한다.

복수 객체의 윤곽 검출 방법에 대한 능동윤곽모델 (Active Contour Model for Boundary Detection of Multiple Objects)

  • 객체 윤곽을 추출하는 대부분의 기존 방법들은 단일객체의 윤곽검출에 대해 연구하였다. 그러나, 실 세계에서는 복수객체가 일반적이다. 본 논문에서 제안한 복수객체 윤곽추출 알고리즘은 2 단계로 구성된다. 첫 번째 단계는 외적 및 내적을 사용하여 초기에 복수객체를 포함한 윤곽을 고속으로 분리하고 연결하여 각각이 윤곽이 단일 개체만을 포함하는 방법을 제안한다. 두 번째 단계는 각각의 윤곽에 포함된 단일 객체의 윤곽을 추출하는 개선된 능동윤곽모델 알고리즘을 설명한다. 여러 실험영상에 대한 실험결과는 다른 방법과 비교하여 속도가 빠르며 정확하게 윤곽을 추출한다.

블록 동질성 분할을 이용한 화재불꽃 영역 추출에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Fire Flame Region Extraction Using Block Homogeneity Segmentation)

  • In this study, we propose a new Fire Flame Region Extraction using Block Homogeneity Segmentation method of the Fire Image with irregular texture and various colors. It is generally assumed that fire flame extraction plays a very important role. The Color Image with fire flame is divided into blocks and edge strength for each block is computed by using modified color histogram intersection method that has been developed to differentiate object boundaries from irregular texture boundaries effectively. The block homogeneity is designed to have the higher value in the center of region with the homeogenous colors or texture while to have lower value near region boundaries. The image represented by the block homogeneity is gray scale image and watershed transformation technique is used to generate closed boundary for each region. As the watershed transform generally results in over-segmentation, region merging based on common boundary strength is followed. The proposed method can be applied quickly and effectively to the initial response of fire.

A FINITE ELEMENT METHOD USING SIF FOR CORNER SINGULARITIES WITH AN NEUMANN BOUNDARY CONDITION

  • In [8] they introduced a new finite element method for accurate numerical solutions of Poisson equations with corner singularities, which is useful for the problem with known stress intensity factor. They consider the Poisson equations with homogeneous Dirichlet boundary condition, compute the finite element solution using standard FEM and use the extraction formula to compute the stress intensity factor, then they pose a PDE with a regular solution by imposing the nonhomogeneous boundary condition using the computed stress intensity factor, which converges with optimal speed. From the solution they could get accurate solution just by adding the singular part. This approach works for the case when we have the reasonably accurate stress intensity factor. In this paper we consider Poisson equations defined on a domain with a concave corner with Neumann boundary conditions. First we compute the stress intensity factor using the extraction formular, then find the regular part of the solution and the solution.

Hierarchical stereo matching using feature extraction of an image

  • In this paper a hierarchical stereo matching algorithm based on feature extraction is proposed. The boundary (edge) as feature point in an image is first obtained by segmenting an image into red, green, blue and white regions. With the obtained boundary information, disparities are extracted by matching window on the image boundary, and the initial disparity map is generated when assigned the same disparity to neighbor pixels. The final disparity map is created with the initial disparity. The regions with the same initial disparity are classified into the regions with the same color and we search the disparity again in each region with the same color by changing block size and search range. The experiment results are evaluated on the Middlebury data set and it show that the proposed algorithm performed better than a phase based algorithm in the sense that only about 14% of the disparities for the entire image are inaccurate in the final disparity map. Furthermore, it was verified that the boundary of each region with the same disparity was clearly distinguished.

  • Currently, in Korea, aerial photogrammetry is being studied for cadastral boundaries and numerical maps. Since the announced value of cadastral survey is closely related to ownership, the accuracy and reliability of the published value should be emphasized above all else. However, although aerial photogrammetry has great advantages in economic feasibility and surveying efficiency, it has many limitations when extracting the boundary of cadastral survey based on the acquired image. In order to improve these limitations, in this study, an aerial target was applied to obtain reliability improvement. Therefore, in order to examine the usefulness of aerial photogrammetry for cadastral survey application, cadastral boundary extraction and accuracy comparison analysis were conducted.
