In the design of any picture book, graphic artists employ the use of color, typeface and illustration to produce attractive book covers. This study is an analysis of selected book covers in the 'Africana Children's Book Awards' (Young Readers category) between 2009 and 2014. The book covers are mainly illustrations originally done in media such as acrylics and oil paintings on canvas. In the article, the author analyses the front covers in terms of hue, Saturation and brightness using a colour map. This work also discusses why certain colours have been used in the design of the covers thus; providing information on color scheme trends for picture books in the Children's Africana Awards Category.

오늘날 컴퓨터 기술의 발전 및 인터넷의 급속한 확산에 따른 디지털 컨텐츠 시장의 급성장, 그리고 E-Book이 갖는 장정들이 복합적으로 결합되면서 전세계적으로 E-Book은 많은 관심을 집중시키고 있다. 그러나 각 업체마다 다른 문서 포맷은 E-Book의 시장 활성화를 방해하는 요소가 되고 있다. 이에 미국과 일본에서는 E-Book 문서의 표준화를 위한 컨소시엄이 구성되었고, 국내에서도 E-Book 컨텐츠의 정확한 교환을 목적으로 EBKS를 구성하였다. 이에 본 연구에서는 EBKS에 기반하는 PDA용 E-Book Viewer의 개발을 위하여 Windows 환경에서 QT Labrary를 이용하여 개발하였으며, 폰트의 크기와 스킨의 색상, 주석의 표현 여부 등을 설정할 수 있고, 특정 단어를 검색하는 기능을 지원한다.

In this paper, we have designed and implemented an E-Book Exchange System which is based on the Open E-Book Exchange protocol of Open E-book forum. The ebook is described digital contents composed of variable media and should require secured ebook server for copyright guarantee. Also, contents manufactures, circulation company, and user must access the ebook contents easily. So, Linux-based ebook server and reader can satisfy this requirements. Therefore, this research has developed Linux-based ebook server and reader which is cost-effective.

This study multilaterally explores South Korean YouTuber Winter Library's book-related contents uploaded on one's channel. As science and technology have developed, now the ordinary people can produce their videos and share them online. YouTube has been the most popular video storage service, and many Koreans use and enjoy it as well. This study investigates book-related contents produced by YouTuber user Winter Library, often called BookTuber (Book plus YouTuber). More specifically, it analyzes Winter Library's various contents by 1) Components of YouTube Channel 2) Contents of Components 3) Components that help to increase reading rates. This study is contributing as it focuses on book, which is not so common topic in YouTube. As a result, the study discovers unique aspects of YouTube contents, and also explores the book-related industry in South Korea. This YouTube channel could be functional for increasing reading rates, especially among adults.

The book number, among various steps of book processing works, needs more careful attention and better-organized knowledge, and it is more sensitive than other parts of cataloging. This paper will give some suggestions on ways of constructing a book number, including the definition and the types of edition indication within a book number, and analyse some problems related to their application into real situation. Three possible ways of edition indication with in a book number were explained, and examples were given for each of them. Problems occurring when these codes were applied to books were analysed. In addition to the generally recognized meaning of the book number as a mean of differentiating similar works, the edition indication can make it possible for both the library staffs and the users to identify the characteristics of a work only with the book number. Searches for mere convenient and effective ways of edition indication might be related to the cost-effectiveness of book processing, and of library operation.

This study analyzed the montage pattern of e-book in a bid to include e-book in the film language system. To this end, this study targeted three pieces of e-books which reproduced the animation for theater use of Disney Company. This study did research on characteristics of montage in films, and kinds of film vectors, and defined it as 'Montage of Experience' according to media characteristics of e-book. This study deducted the montage pattern of 3 sorts of classification, and 10 sorts of detailed classification by doing research on the analysis object. This study has a significance in that it pioneers a new perspective in e-book research which has been biased towards a functional perspective. Analysis of the point of contact where the existing visual media, and new media meet with each other could be a driving force promoting the growth of the relevant industry, and this study thinks that the analysis of the point of contact is the research which is helpful to working out qualitative improvement of e-book contents.

This study investigated the actual condition of book numbers in South Korean academic libraries. Book numbers that are used in the Korean academic libraries consist of a combination of author-number or author-name, the first letter of the title, and any other shelflisting device. This study examined the current problems that perceive academic librarians on book numbers and the problem awareness of librarians who are working at 110 academic libraries in South Korea. The result shows that academic libraries are using eleven different methods of the book numbers table including nine eastern methods and two western methods. Also, librarians mentioned that the crucial concerns among participating libraries were the duplication of the book numbers and ineffective collection management. Therefore, this study suggested the expansion of the book numbers system in order not to duplicate of book numbers and the unification of western and eastern methods so that academic libraries tackle problems of ineffective collection management.

The purpose of this study is to develop a collaborative model for the archiving and preservation of an electronic book(e-book). In this study the way of the archiving and preservation for the e-book to deal with the technology evolution was suggested. Accordingly, the survey was made for obtaining the present status of the production and distribution of the domestic Online e-book. It is the same as the operation status of the archiving and preservation for the Online e-book worldwide. A collaborative model for accessible to preserved data, regardless of time period, was proposed for archiving the e-book, based on the OAIS reference model. There are three different models, suggested for domestic; the safe place model by law, the individual preservation/Peer-to-Peer model, and the preservation center model for e-book archiving. Among them, the safe place model by law was proposed for the optimum model of archiving an e-book at present.

It was difficult for user to identify e-books due to some problems such as duplicable bibliographic records and inconsistent descriptive cataloging when cataloging the bibliographic records of the e-book packages in OPAC. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to find the applicable methods of the provider neutral e-book(e-monograph) MARC record guideline for the standardization of the bibliographic records of the provider supplied e-book package. Through the literature reviews and homepage analysis of 15 university libraries in domestic, the theoretical background on cataloging e-book, the descriptive cataloging of e-book, the provider-neutral e-monograph MARC record guideline as new standard for e-book, and the libraries practices of cataloging bibliographic records of the e-book package were inquired. Based on these analysis, it was to suggest applicable methods of provider neutral e-book(e-monograph) MARC record guideline for the standardization of the bibliographic records of domestic e-book packages in aspect of cataloging rule, KORMARC, and neutral bibliographic records. This study will contribute to build FRBRization of the e-books in OPAC as finding the guideline for the standardization of the bibliographic records of the e-book packages for both providers and libraries.

The purpose of this study is to explore application of topic modeling for topic analysis of book report. Topic modeling can be understood as one method of topic analysis. This analysis was conducted with texts in 23 book reports using LDA function of the "topicmodels" package provided by R. According to the result of topic modeling, 16 topics were extracted. The topic network was constructed by the relation between the topics and keywords, and the book report network was constructed by the relation between book report cases and topics. Next, Centrality analysis was conducted targeting the topic network and book report network. The result of this study is following these. First, 16 topics are shown as network which has one component. In other words, 16 topics are interrelated. Second, book report was divided into 2 groups, book reports with high centrality and book reports with low centrality. The former group has similarities with others, the latter group has differences with others in aspect of the topics of book reports. The result of topic modeling is useful to identify book reports' topics combining with network analysis.
