  • The purpose of this study is to develop high value-added uniform design in response to climate change, and produce high sensitivity uniforms that conserve the energy of its wearers. The scope of the study encompassed entire production stage from the product planning stage to developing a prototype to collecting consumer ratings to securing intellectual property. The results of the study are as follows. First, the material was developed that maximizes insulation by replicating human body heat radiation and raising the temperature by 5 degree Celsius. Second, through Time to Market system, a luxurious synthetic wool material was developed, and warm effect was achieved. Third, pattern design engineering for easy movement and design development allowed the realization of uniform design that is compatible indoors and outdoors as well as respond to highly active climate change. Fourth, Fifth, the developed design was registered and intellectual property rights were obtained.

  • Damp Heat is a combination of Damp and Heat if conditioned internally and externally, and constitutes vital Ki as well as pathogenic Ki. Damp Heat, as vital Ki, is one of the essential factors in forming the body and preserving life activity, and on the other hand, as pathogenic Ki, it causes undear mentality, gastric discomfort with acid regurgitation, San disease(疝病), cardiac beriberi, flaccidity symtoms, muscular atonia or contracture and dark or cloudy urine. In Hyungsang Medicine, the Dam type develops Damp Heat disease mostly due to Heat, and the treatment is to promote urination by clearing Heat; on the other hand, in the Bangwang type, Damp is the major cause and the treatment is to induce sweating and eliminate Damp.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare the body temperature (BT), blood pressure (BP) and shivering in patients undergoing operation under general anesthesia between the heated humidification circuit tube (HHCT) group and the non-HHCT group. Methods: Data were extracted from the participants' medical records from September 1st to December 30th, 2009. The HHCT group consisted of 50 cases who were applied with heated and humidified gas via a specially designed circuit under general anesthesia. The HHCT which was adjusted at $41^{\circ}C$ was applied from induction of general anesthesia to extubation. In comparison, the non-HHCT group consisted of 50 cases who were applied with gas through standard breathing circuit without heat and humidification. Collected data were analyzed by $x^2$ test, t-test and repeated measures ANOVA. Results: The BT and shivering were significantly different between two groups (p<.001). But the BP was was not signigicantly different between the HHCT group and the non-HHCT group. Conclusion: The application of heated and humidified gases to patients under general anesthesia was effective in preserving the body temperature and reducing the shivering.

  • Objective : For the purpose of investigating the herbal resources of Dokdo island, this study was designed. Method : For the first time, we searched the native plants of Dokdo island from research data. And we examined herbological books on the plants of Dokdo island. Result : The native herbaceous plants in Dokdo island were 27 family and 73 species, and the medicinal plants were 49 species among them. The woody plants in Dokdo island were 12 family and 13 species, and the medicinal plants were 10 species among them. The main medicinal parts of medicinal plants were the whole body of herbs, roots, and seeds in order. The herbal medicines with cold or cool nature were 45 species, they took the top nature of the herbal medicines. According to the properties and principal action of native herbal medicines in Dokdo island, the major parts were classified into drugs for clearing away heat, eliminating toxin, activating blood flow and removing blood stasis, urination, removing heat from the blood and stopping of bleeding. The number of native herbal medicines with small toxicity in Dokdo island were 7 species. Conclusion : For the purpose of preserving the native plants of Dokdo island, we should recognize not only medical benefits but also matters that demand special attention.
