The purpose of this study is to propose a standard of converting 3D shape of men in twenties to 2D patterns. This can be a basis for scientific and automatic pattern making for high quality custom clothes. Firstly, representative 3D body shape of men was modeled. Then the 3D model was divided into 3 shells, front, side and back. Among them, the front shell was divided into 4 blocks by bust line and princess line. Secondly, curves are generated on each block according to matrix combination by grid method. Then triangles were developed into 2D pieces by reflecting the 3D curve length. The grid was arranged to maintain outer curve length. Next, the area of developed pieces and block were calculated and difference ratio between the block area and the developed pieces' area is calculated. Also, area difference ratio by the number of triangles is calculated. The difference ratio was represented as graphs and optimal section is selected by the shape of graphs. The optimal matrix was set considering connection with other blocks. Curves of torso upper front shell were regenerated by the optimal matrix and developed into pieces. We validated it's suitability by comparing difference ratio between the block area and the developed pieces' area of optimal section. The results showed that there was no significant difference between block area and the pieces' area developed by optimal matrix. The optimal matrix for 2D developing could be characterized as two types according to block's shape characteristics, one is affected by triangle number, the other is affected by number of raws more than columns. Through this study, both the 2D pattern developing from 3D body shape and 3D modeling from 2D pattern is possible, so it's standardization also possible.
The objective of the study was to design a Battle Dress Uniform(BDU with improved motional flexibility, body fit, and protectiveness to cope with the special operational environment of the subjects. For this purpose, the researcher conducted a questionnaire survey on 92 male members of Special Weapon Attack Team(SWAT units in a former study, and based on the results of the survey, made the two-piece and one- piece BDU samples to overcome the identified problems and inconveniences. The sample uniforms were designed ergonomically from five aspects. Subsequentlv, the new BDU was compared with the current operational uniform in terms of outward appearance(design and fit), motional flexibility, and suitability for field activities. The samples were evaluated by 5 SWAT members as subjects and 8 graduate school students majoring in clothing and textiles as experts. According to the results, the two-piece and one-piece samples gained higher scores than the existing operational uniform in terms of outward appearance(design and fitness) and motional flexibility, and the one-piece sample was preferred with regard to fit when worn by the subjects with their full kit for field operations. That is, the one-piece sample appeared to be more suited to the special work environment of SWAT and to be more functional in terms of ease of putting on and taking off, motional flexibility, body fit and protectiveness than the current operational uniform(two-piece type).
Sparassis latifolia is called "Cauliflower Mushroom" and is known as an edible mushroom that has high content of ${\beta}$-glucan. Recently, artificial cultivation of S. latifolia has been done by bottle, plastic bag and wood cultivation in Korea. However it is not widely used because there are low incubation ratio and yield. For the high efficiency of production, we aim to find the superior strains and media for better mycelial and fruit body growth. First, we analyzed the genetic relationship among 31 strains and divided five groups with three kinds of URP primers. And then ten strains were selected from five groups based on the experiment of mycelial growth. The suitability of media for mycelial growth was different according to media type. The suitable solid and liquid media for mycelial growth of S. latifolia isolates were PDA and M2, respectively. In addition, with regard to C/N ratio, the mycelial growth increased even until C/N 160. Second, we investigated the production of fruitbody of the strains by plastic bag cultivation. The substrate was mixed with larch sawdust, corn flour, and wheat flour (8:1:1, v/v). Moisture content of substrate was controlled by about 60% with 10% molasses solution. Out of 31 strains, 19 strains formed primordia. The eight strains produced more than 140g/1kg in fresh weight. Third, molasses culture media was selected for the mycelial growth. And molasses suitable sugar content and input aeration were around 8Brix% and 0.3~0.6vvm, respectively. The longer the incubation period is, the more dried weight of mycelia increased, but medium volume decreased. Therefore, the best incubation period was 9 to 11 days depending on strains. In the future, research project entitled development of culture system and new variety for stable production of S. latifolia will be considered as a new item.
This study did a comparative analysis on the patterns of several male bodice slopers, followed by evaluating the appearance through a virtual garment simulation, which used a three-dimensional virtual garment system. Through this process, this study attempted to comparatively analyze the suitability of the garment or each sloper according to body parts. The analysis of the drawing formulas of bodices slopers had the following results. With a standard chest size, all six slopers had a 1:4 ratio for a front and back chest size; 1:5 or 1:6 for a front and back breast size 1:5 or 1:4 for a neck base circumference; and 1:20 or 1:12 for the chest size. When comparing the anthropometric figures and the actual measurements of each body part for the bodice slopers, the actual measurements secured extra amounts in the drawing process. The evaluation results for appearance of the six men's bodice slopers showed that the slopers used by companies (E and F) had top scores followed by the slopers made for (C and D), while the sloper for education (A) received the lowest scores. Regarding the results of the variance analysis verifying the significant difference between the slopers, twenty-five items had significant differences with the exception of four items on the front side and one item on the backside.
The sizing system for Korean Standard of Disposable Protective Coveralls (DPC) uses the ISO sizing system without modification even though the user suitability for Koreans is unverified. This study provides useful information to improve the size standard of Korean DPC by analyzing measurement DPC data from Korean men and women. The distribution of Korean measurements shows that the size sections were unsuitable for Korean men and women for a protective clothing size standard. Body types were categorized into five types based on a cluster analysis of representative men's and women's measurement factors. Two clusters mostly consisted of men, two other clusters mostly consisted of women, and the other cluster relatively evenly consisted of men and women. Therefore, characteristic body measurements and measurement distribution differences were identifiable for men and women. In conclusion, an unmodified ISO protective clothing size standard is unsuitable for Korean men and women and may cause fit problems. This study shows that a Korean Standard of protective clothing is beneficial for protective clothing manufacturers and wearers if smaller size intervals are added for women and the difference in the distribution of men and women is reflected in the current sizing system. ISO is appropriate to use a Korean Standard in this global era, however, it should be reviewed to provide improved Korean data.
Objectives The purpose of this study was to analyze the clinical characteristics of patients with hyperhidrosis who visited a Korean medicine hospital, and provide information on treated hyperhidrosis, based on Sasang Constitutional medicine. Methods A retrospective review was made of the electronic medical record (EMR) charts for 157 Korean patients with hyperhidrosis (90 male, 67 female), who first visited hospital from January 1, 2013 to December 31, 2017. The following information was collected: sex, age, height, weight, body mass index (BMI) and clinical data (diagnosis, area of onset, duration of illness, aggravating factors, medication, healing process, et al). Results There were many patients with hyperhidrosis, in the other of So-Yang type (57.3%), Tae-Eum type (35.0%) and So-Eum type (7.6%). The proportion of male was higher than female. The most common area of hyperhidrosis was hands and feet (44.0%), followed by generalized whole body (27.4%) and head and face (25.5%). The cure rate of hyperhidrosis was 32.2%, and effectiveness rate of that was 72.7%. In individual patients, the better the usual health condition expressed by original symptoms, the higher the possibility of treatment success, with shortened duration of treatment and reduced total drug dose. The most frequent treatment modality in patients was that consistently improved, and this duration of treatment was statistically significantly shorter than that experienced worsening of excessive sweating during treatment period (p<0.001). Conclusions This study provides some original information on the Korean patients with hyperhidrosis, and suggests the suitability of Sasang Constitutional medicine as treatment methods for hyperhidrosis.
This study analyzes differences between the results of 3D direct measurements and automated measurements for Korean elderly females according to age groups, side somatotype, and BMI groups. This study compares the measurement differences of the direct and the 3D automated measurements for women between the ages of 70 to 85, according to age group, BMI group, and side somatotype. A comparison of the results of the direct measurement and the 3D automated measurements for elderly women show that a meaningful discrepancy exists for 29 items out of 33 items. Furthermore, the results of comparing the average error tolerance recommended by ISO20685 shows that 30 items out of 33 items exceeded ISO recommendations. The results of the automated measurement program shows a higher degree of accuracy for straight postures; however, this unsuitable for postures of elderly women with a changed somatotype. The analysis results of the measurement difference indicate the suitability of the automatic measurement programs is found to be high for stood postures, while problems seem to exist on several items along with an automated program is not appropriately used due to posture and part of body changes for elderly women. Therefore, it is recommended to develop an algorithm, that reflects the body changes of elderly women first and then upgrade the automated program equipped with a measurement size method. It is hoped that the study results can be utilized as base data for improving the automated measurement program.
Bovine respiratory syncytial virus (BRSV) and bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV) are the main viral contributors to bovine respiratory disease (BRD) with high mortality and morbidity. BRD control measures include vaccination that modulates immunological profiles reflected in blood cells, serum, and body secretions, such as milk. This study evaluated the immune responses to an inactivated BRD vaccine in lactating cows reared in a natural environment on a dairy farm. The cows were intramuscularly inoculated with the vaccine, and serum, blood, and milk were collected pre-and post-vaccination. Our study revealed a prominent increase in BRSV-specific antibodies both in serum and milk, while the change in BVDV-specific antibodies was insignificant. Serum interleukin (IL)-1β and IL-6 levels significantly decreased, but this change was not reflected in milk. Evaluation of pattern recognition receptors (PRRs) via RT-qPCR revealed downregulation of nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain 2 (NOD2). The concentrations of BRSV antibodies, BVDV antibodies, IL-2, and IL-17A in serum and milk were strongly correlated, implying a concurrent influence on both body fluids. Thus, immunological factors modulated as a result of vaccination generally measured in serum were reflected in milk, demonstrating the suitability of milk evaluation as an alternative approach for immunological observations. Furthermore, the correlation between BRSV antibodies and NOD2 and that between BVDV antibodies and toll-like receptor (TLR) 2, TLR3, TLR4, and TLR5 imply the possible role of PRRs for the assessment of the immune response developed in immunized cows reared on the farm.

Purpose: In this study, the dosimetric characteristics of lung stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) plans using the new Halcyon system were analyzed to assess its suitability. Methods: We compared the key dosimetric parameters calculated for the Halcyon SBRT plans with those of a conventional C-arm linear accelerator (LINAC) equipped with a high-definition multileaf collimator (HD-MLC)-Trilogy Tx. A total of 10 patients with non-small-cell lung cancer were selected, and all SBRT plans were generated using the RapidArc technique. Results: Trilogy Tx exhibited significant superiority over Halcyon in terms of target dose coverage (conformity index, homogeneity index, D0.1 cc, and D95%) and dose spillage (gradient). Trilogy Tx was more efficient than Halcyon in the lung SBRT beam delivery process in terms of the total number of monitor units, modulation factor, and beam-on time. However, it was feasible to achieve a dose distribution that met SBRT plan requirements using Halcyon, with no significant differences in satisfying organs at risk dose constraints between both plans. Conclusions: Results confirm that Halcyon is a viable alternative for performing lung SBRT in the absence of a LINAC equipped with HD-MLC. However, extra consideration should be taken in determining whether to use Halcyon when the planning target volume setting is enormous, as in the case of significant tumor motions.
The purpose of this research is to know the pattern of Hanbok Jegory with measuring Jegory and studying manufacturing method of the Jegory used currently. It is a purpose to find constitutional problem caused by the character of the bending somatotype and, to study the standard model of the Jegory for bending somatotyped women in old age, by comparison of this fitness for bending-somatotyped women in old age. The results obtained are as follows; 1. The kinds of measurements considered in manufacturing process are Hwajang Length, Bust girth, and the skirt length. The length of Jegory and width of Neck are also considered. 2. Manufacturers consider somatotype the most important thing when they make Jegory for women in old age. Front length, Back length and Width of the Jegory are considered secondly important. 3. The results of the comparison show that the Standard Hanbok drafting method is not suitable for drafting Jegory for bending somatotyped women in old age. 4. The suitability test for the model designed by the above methods shows that it fits in bending somatotyped women in old age better than standard drafting method. The results show the superiority of the above methods especially in the breast width, the Godae length, and the adaptedness to the body.
