Sentinel lymph node mapping using tri-modal human serum albumin conjugated with visible dye, near infrared fluorescent dye and radioisotope

  • We developed an evans blue-indocyanine green-$^{99m}Tc$-human serum albumin conjugate for sentinel lymph node mapping and we describe its unique potential usage for clinical implications. This conjugate has combined the strengths of visible blue dye, near-infrared fluorescence and radioisotope into one single conjugate without any additional weakness/disadvantage. All the components of evans blue-indocyanine green-$^{99m}Tc$-human serum albumin are safe and of low cost, and they have already been clinically used. This conjugate was stable in the serum, it showed a long retention time in the lymphatic system and the lymph nodes showed a much higher signal-to-noise ratio after the conjugate was injected intradermally into the paw of mice. Both the single-photon emission computed tomography and near-infrared fluorescent images of the mice were successfully obtained at the same time as the excised sentinel lymph nodes showed blue color. The visual color, near-infrared fluorescence and gamma ray from this agent could be complementary for each other in all the steps of sentinel lymph node sampling: exploring and planning sentinel lymph node before excision with visualization of the exact sentinel lymph node location during an operation. Therefore, the triple modal agent will possibly be very ideal for sentinel lymph node mapping because of the high signal-to-noise ratio for non-invasive imaging and its complementary multimodal nature, easy preparation and safety. It is promising for clinical applications and it may have great advantages over the traditional single modal methods.

  • 알칼리 수전해는 신재생에너지를 이용하여 오염물질 없이 효율적으로 수소를 생산할 수 있는 방법 중의 하나이다. 알칼리 수전해 시스템의 산화전극으로 불용성전극이 많이 사용되고 있으나 높은 과전압과 제조 공정이 복잡한 문제점을 가지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 전기변색을 이용해 짙은 파란색의 $TiO_2$ 나노튜브를 알칼리 수전해 시스템의 산화전극으로 이용하고자 하였다. 양극산화법을 이용해 $TiO_2$ 나노튜브를 만드는 과정에서 양극산화 시간과 인가전압에 따라 Blue $TiO_2$의 산소발생반응(Oxygen evolution reaction, OER) 활성 변화를 측정하였고 나노튜브 길이가 길고 직경이 클수록 OER활성과 내구성이 향상되는 것을 확인하였다.

발광층 두께가 삼층 구조 청색 인광 OLED의 효율 특성에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Emission Layer Thickness on the Efficiency of Blue Phosphorescent Organic Light Emitting Diodes with Triple Layer Structure)

  • We have fabricated simple triple-layer blue-emitting phosphorescent organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) using different thicknesses of N,N'-dicarbazolyl-3,5-benzene (mCP) host layers doped with bis[(4,6-di-fluorophenyl)-pyridinate-N,$C^{2'}$]picolmate (FIrpic) guest materials. The thicknesses of mCP:FIrpic layers were 5, 10, and 30 nm. Driving voltage, current and power efficiencies were investigated. The current efficiency was higher in the 10 nm thick mCP:FIrpic device, resulting from the better electron-hole balance. The device with 10 nm mCP:FIrpic layer exhibited the maximum current efficiency of 22.5 cd/A and power efficiency of 7.4 lm/W at a luminance of 1000 cd/$m^2$.

LED 조명에 대한 청색광 위험 평가 (Evaluation of Blue Light Hazards in LED Lightings)

  • 목적: 청색광 위험도의 정량적 지표인 청색광 복사휘도를 이용하여 안경원 내 LED 조명에 대한 청색광 위험도를 평가하였다. 방법: LED 조명의 분광복사휘도를 측정하고 청색광 복사휘도와 최대노출시간을 산출한 후, IEC 62471 분류기준에 따라 위험군을 분류하였다. 결과: 진열장에 사용된 황색 LED 조명, 천장에 사용된 백색 및 황색 LED 조명, 그리고 로고에 사용된 백색 LED 조명은 위험제외군 RG0로 분류되었지만, 진열장에 사용된 백색 LED 조명은 위험군 RG1으로 분류되었다. 진열장에 사용된 백색 LED 조명의 청색광 복사휘도는 형광등에 비하여 수십 배나 높은 것으로 나타났다. 결론: 청색광 복사휘도의 값을 이용하여 여러 가지 조명에 대한 청색광 위험을 정량적으로 표현할 수 있었다. 진열장용 백색 LED 조명은 높은 휘도와 색온도로 청색광 위험이 높음을 확인할 수 있었으며, 안경원 내의 조명 교체 시 장기적이 측면에서 시건강을 위해 적절한 밝기와 색온도의 조명을 선택하는 것이 필요하겠다.

새로운 Spiro[fluorene-benzofluore]계 청색 호스트 물질의 유기전계발광 특성 (Electroluminescence Properties of New Spiro(fluorene-benzofluore)-Type Blue Host Materials)

  • New spiro-type host materials, 5'-phenylnaphthyl-spiro[fluorene-7,9'-benzofluorene](BH-lPN) and 5',6-bis(phenylnaphthyl)-spiro[fluorene-7,9'-benzofluorene](BH-6PN) were designed and successfully prepared by the Suzki reaction. The EL characteristics of BH-1PN as blue host material doped with blue dopant materials, BD-1 were evaluated and compared with the existing host MADN:dopant BD-1 system. The structure of the device is ITO/DNTPD/NPB/Host:5% dopant/Alq3/Al-LiF. The device obtained from BH-lPN doped with BD-1 showed a good color purity and efficiency, on the other hand luminance and current-density characteristics are worse than that of MADN doped with BD-1.

신규 비공액성 청색발광재료 PPPMA-co-DTPM 공중합체 합성을 통한 백색유기발광소자 제작 (Fabrication of a White Organic Light Emitting Diode By Synthesizing a Novel Non-conjugated Blue Emitting Material PPPMA-co-DTPM Copolymer)

  • To fabricate a single layer white organic light emitting diode (OLED), a novel non-conjugated blue emitting material PPPMA-co-DTPM copolymer was synthesized containing a perylene moiety unit with hole transporting and blue emitting ability and a triazine moiety unit with electron transporting ability. The devices were fabricated using PPPMA-co-DTPM $(PPPMA[70\;wt\%]:DTPM[30\;wt\%])$ copolymer by varying the doping concentrations of each red, green and blue fluorescent dye, by molecular-dispersing into Toluene solvent with spin coating method. In case of ITO/PPPMA-co-DTPM:TPB$(3\;mol\%):C6(0.04\;mol\%):NR(0.015\;mol\%)/Al$ structure, as they were molecular-dispersing into 30 mg/ml Toluene solvent, nearly-pure white light was obtained both (0.325, 0.339) in the CIE coordinates at 18 V and (0.335, 0.345) at 15 V. The turn-on voltage was 3 V, the light-emitting turn-on voltage was 4 V, and the maximum external quantum efficiency was $0.667\%$ at 24.5 V. Also, in case of using 40 mg/ml Toluene solvent, the CIE coordinate was (0.345, 0.342) at 20 V.

  • 치자황색소로부터 미생물에 의해 변환된 색소의 색조차이를 규명하고자 L. plantarum과 S. epidermidis에 의해 변환된 색소를 Amberlite XAD-4 column chromatography로 정제 한 다음 Sephadex LH-20 column의 gel filtration 용출양상과 분리된 색소의 분광학적 특성을 조사 하였다. L. plantarum에 의해 변환된 색소는 crocetin보다 큰 분자크기를 갖고 588 nm에서 홉수극대를 갖는 단일의 청색소를 생성하며, S. epidermidis에 의해 변환된 색소는 L. plantarum에 의해 생성되는 588 nm에 흡수극대를 갖는 청색소와 함께 crocetin 보다 작은 분자크기와, 413 nm에서 흡수극대를 갖는 황색소를 동시에 생성함으로서 청녹색을 띠는 것임이 밝혀졌다.

  • Wool fabric and merino wool top were dyed with two dyes, C.I. Acid Red 13 and C.I. Direct Blue 1 in presence of hydrogen peroxide/glyoxal redox system at various conditions such as dyeing time, temperature and redox concentration. The pH of dye bath was 4.5 in buffer solution of $KH_{2}PO_{4}$ (0.1mol/1)/$Na_{2}HPO_{4}$ (0.1mol/1). Also dyeing of cotton fabric was carried out with C.I. Direct Blue 1 in absence or presence of redox system. The color depth(K/S) increased with redox concentration and dyeing temperature. The increases in dyeing rate and equilibrium dye exhaustion of Acid Acid 13 and Direct Blue 1 on wool fiber and fabric in the present of hydrogen peroxide/glyoxal have been caused by decreasing in pH value during dyeing process which due to the decomposition of hydrogen ion in glyoxal with the assistance of hydrogen peroxide. But the decreases in exhaustion of Direct Blue 1 on cotton may be attributed to repulsive interac ion between salt and salt.

Blue Organic Light-Emitting Diodes Based on Triphenylene Derivatives

  • A series of blue fluorescent emitters based on triphenylene derivatives were synthesized via the Diels-Alder reaction in moderate yields. The electronic absorption and emission characteristics of the new functional materials were affected by the nature of the substituent on the triphenylene nucleus. Multilayered OLEDs were fabricated with a device structure of: ITO/NPB (50 nm)/EML (30 nm)/Bphen (30 nm)/Liq (2.0 nm)/Al (100 nm). All devices showed efficient blue emissions. Among those, a device using 1 gives the best performances with a high brightness (978 cd $m^{-2}$ at 8.0 V) and high efficiencies (a luminous efficiency of 0.80 cd/A, a power efficiency of 0.34 lm/W and an external quantum efficiency of 0.73% at 20 $mA/cm^2$). The peak wavelength of the electroluminescence was 455 nm with CIEx,y coordinates of (0.17, 0.14) at 8.0 V.

고 에너지 볼밀을 이용한 Blue 텅스텐산화물 나노입자의 제조와 특성 (Prepration and Properties of Blue Tungsten Oxide Nanopowders by High Energy Ball-Mill)

  • The purpose of this study is to prepare WO3 nanopowders by high-energy milling in mixture gas (7 % H2+Ar) with various milling times (10, 30, and 60 min). The phase transformation, particle size and light absorption properties of WO3 nanopowders during reduction via high-energy milling are studied. It is found that the particle size of the WO3 decreases from about 30 ㎛ to 20 nm, and the grain size of WO3 decreases rapidly with increasing milling time. Furthermore, the surface of the particles due to the pulverization process is observed to change to an amorphous structure. UV/Vis spectrophotometry shows that WO3 powder with increasing milling times (10, 30, 60 min) effectively extends the light absorption properties to the visible region. WO3 powder changes from yellow to gray and can be seen as a phenomenon in which the progress of the color changes to blue. The characterization of WO3 is performed by high resolution X-ray diffractometry, Field emission scanning electron microscopy, Transmission electron microscopy, UV/Vis spectrophotometry and Particle size analysis.
