Zeolite HY is wet impregnated with Ni (0.1, 0.3, 0.4, 0.5 wt%), Pt (0.1 wt%) and reduced in presence of hydrogen to form nanosized particles of Ni and Pt. All the catalysts were characterized by XRD, TEM, ESCA, NH3-TPD, Pyridine adsorbed FT-IR and BET. Characterization results confirm that the Ni and Pt fractions effectively rehabilitated the physio-chemical properties of the zeolite HY catalysts. Further, all the reduced catalyst were screened with hydroisomerization of m-xylene at LHSV = 2.0 h-1 in the temperature range 250-400 ℃ in steps of 50 ℃ in hydrogen atmosphere (20 ml/g). The addition of Ni to Pt catalyst increases hydroisomerization conversion, as well as maximizes p-xylene selectivity by restricting the pore size. The increasing trend in activity continues up to 0.3 wt% of Ni and 0.1 wt% Pt addition over zeolite HY. The increasing addition of Ni increases the total number of active metallic sites to exposed, which increases the metallic sites/acid sites ratio towards the optimum value for these reactions by better balance of synergic effect for stable activity. The rate of deactivation is pronounced on monometallic catalysts. The results confirm the threshold Ni addition is highly suitable for hydroisomerization reaction for product selectivity over Ni-Pt bimetallic/support catalysts.
In cellular mobile communications, how to achieve optimum system capacity with limited frequency spectrum is one of the main research issues. Many dynamic channel assignment (DCA) schemes have been proposed and studied to allocate the channels more efficiently, thus, the capacity of cellular systems is improved. Reuse partitioning (RP) is another technique to achieve higher capacity by reducing the overall reuse distance. In this paper, we present a network-based DCA scheme with the implementation of RP technique, namely dynamic reuse partitioning with interference information (DRP-WI). The scheme aims to minimize the effect of assigned channels on the availability of channels for use in the interfering cells and to reduce their overall reuse distances. The performance of DRP-WI is measured in terms of blocking probability and system capacity. Simulation results have confirmed the effectiveness of DRP-WI scheme. Under both uniform and non-uniform traffic distributions, DRP-WI exhibits outstanding performance in improving the system capacity. It can provide about 100% capacity improvement as compared to conventional fixed channel assignment scheme with 70 system channels.
This study is about efficiency of pretreatment process and operating factor to membrane process at continuous coagulation/ultrafiltration process in water treatment. The capacity of pilot plant was $0.06{\beta}(C)/d$. The raw water used was from Nakdong stream which was characteristized by high organic matter and high turbidity. The result of the test was that coagulation is good process as to high removal rate to organic matter and turbidity but It caused problem to membrane pore blocking. This paper is to determine the membrane fouling potential under different membrane flux, backwash pressure and linear velocity. Backwash pressure and flux is important parameter on operation of membrane system. Those are directly affected on membrane system. When backwash pressure increased from 150 kPa to 200 kPa, the result showed that fouling (pressure increase rate) changed from 3.69 kPa/h to 0.93 kPa/h and the recovery rate changed from 90.7 % to 82.0 %. Linear velocity had slightly effect on fouling. Linear velocity increased from 0.2 m/s to 0.5 m/s, the corresponding pressure rate changed from 0.93 kPa/d to 0.77 kPa/d.

Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) is over-expressed in several human cancers. This would suggest that inhibition of EGFR is a reasonable approach for cancer treatment. In this study we investigated EGFR blocking and its effects on the mediated signaling such as MAPK and STATb in HT29 cells. For this aim we used FITC-labeled EGFR antisense oligonucleotides encapsulated with PAMAM nanoparticles to inhibit EGFR expression. Cellular uptake of antisense was investigated by fluorescence microscopy and flow cytometry analysis. The effect of EGFR antisense on the expression of EGFR in HT29 cells was examined by real time PCR and Western blots, which showed that antisense encapsulated with PAMAM decreased the level of EGFR mRNA and protein. In addition, real time PCR results confirmed that EGFR inhibition had an effective role in the reduction of EGFR dependent downstream genes. In conclusion, EGFR antisense encapsulated with PAMAM nanoparticles down regulated EGFR and EGFR-mediated genes.
Background: The molecular basis of follicular dendritic cells (FDC)-germinal center (GC) B cell interaction is largely unknown, although this cellular interaction is thought to be important for the whole process of GC B cell differentiation. Methods: Using FDC-like cells, HK, and highly purified GC B cells, we attempted to identify the molecules that play critical roles in the interactions between FDC and B cells. GC B cells were co-cultured with HK cells and soluble CD154 in the presence or absence of various function-blocking monoclonal antibodies to examine their effect on GC B cell binding to HK cells and B cell proliferation. Results: Anti-CD11a and anti-CD54 antibodies inhibited GC B cell binding to HK cells while anti-CD49d and anti-CD106 antibodies did not. GC B cell proliferation was not impaired by the disruption of GC B cell-HK cell adherence. Conclusion: Our results suggest that CD11a/CD18-CD54 interactions play an important roles in the initial binding of GC B cells to FDC and diffusible growth factors from FDC may be responsible the massive proliferation of GC B cells.
The effect of $\alpha$-septithiophene (${\alpha}-7T$) layers on the organic light emitting diode(OLED) was studied. The ${\alpha}-7T$ was used for a buffer layer in OLED. Hole injection was investigated and improved emission efficiency. The OLEDs structure can be described as indium tin oxide(ITO)/ buffer layer / hole transporting layer / emitting layer / electron transporting layer / LiF / Al. The hole transporting layer were composed of N,N-diphenyl-N,N-di(3-methylphenyl)-1,1-biphenyl-4,4-diamine(TPD), and N,N-di(naphthalene-1-ly)-N,N-diphenyl-benzidine( ${\alpha}$-NPD). The emitting layer, and electron transporting layer consist of tris(8-hydroxyquinolinato) aluminum($Alq_3$). All organic layer were deposited at a background pressure of less than $10^{-6}$ torr using ultra high vacuum (UHV) system. The ${\alpha}-7T$ layer can substitute the hole blocking layer, and improve hole injection properties.
Purpose: Production of dental prosthesis by a dental technician causes a loud noise. Thus, we investigated stress of dental technicians due to a noise using a structured questionnaire. Methods: A survey was conducted on working dental technicians across the country from July 2013 to November 2013; among 200 sets of survey distributed, 166 were completed and returned, and excluding the 11 that deemed unsuitable, 155 sets were used for statistics. The program SPSS 19.0 was used to analyze the correlation among the collected data. Results: The stress of noise was found to be 2.83/5 points (2.93/5 for physical stress, 2.72/5 for emotional stress). Recognition of noise was found to be 2.71/5 points (3.39/5 for recognition of noise, 2.64/5 for accidents caused by noise, 2.29/5 for experiencing disability due to noise). For general items, the highest stress were shown for the following catogories: by gender, females (p=.008); by position, chief engineer (p=.033); by monthly pay, 2.51M-3.0M KRW (p=.023); by interior comfort, 'very unpleasant' was the highest recognized (p=.014). For the effect of time exposed to noise, its stress (p=.000) and recognition (p=.000) rose with increase of time. Conclusion: Dental technicians performs tasks in work environments exposed to extreme noise. This research attempts to re-emphasize the necessity for improving the work environment for noise and provide measures of blocking noise and precaution.
Mulberry tree twigs (Ramulus mori) contain large amounts of oxyresveratrols and have traditionally been used as herbal medicines because of their anti-inflammatory properties. However, the signaling mechanism by which R. mori exerts its anti-inflammatory action remains to be elucidated. In this study, we observed that R. mori ethanol extracts (RME) exerted an inhibitory effect on the lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced production of the pro-inflammatory cytokine interleukin-6 (IL-6) in Raw264.7 macrophage cells. Additionally, RME inhibited IL-6 production by blocking the leukotriene B4 receptor-2 (BLT2)-dependent-NADPH oxidase 1 (NOX1)-reactive oxygen species (ROS) cascade, leading to anti-inflammatory activity. Finally, RME suppressed the production of the BLT2 ligands LTB4 and 12(S)-HETE by inhibiting the p38 kinase-cytosolic phospholipase A2-5-/12-lipoxygenase cascade in LPS-stimulated Raw264.7 cells. Overall, our results suggest that RME inhibits the 'BLT2 ligand-BLT2'-linked autocrine inflammatory axis, and that this BLT2-linked cascade is one of the targets of the anti-inflammatory action of R. mori.
The elliptic relaxation model(ERM) with the inhomogeneous correction intermediate between near wall with and far from the wall. The source of the ERM usually was appled quasi-homogeneous pressure-strain correlation in homogeneous situations. This formulation was easily applied to the linear model or non-linear pressure-strain model. It is observed that the boundary conditions of the relaxation operator dominate the homogeneous pressure-strain model in the near wall region. While looking at high-Reynolds number flows, it was found necessary to modify the effect of the relaxation operator throughout the log region by accounting for gradients of the flatness variable and turbulent length scales. These effects are kinematic blocking of the wall normal velocity fluctuation and pressure reflections from the surface. This model is wall distances and unit vectors which make the model applicable to flows boundary by a complex geometry. Inhomogeneous correction model is computed inertial and non-inertial channel flow These are compared DNS(Kim et at., Kristofffrsen & Andersson) for channel flow. The present model could be predicted well for rotating flows.
