The analysis of a single stereo model is not sufficient in applying for some large structures, therefore the precise coordinate analysis photogrammetric block adjustment method should be considered. The distribution of control points has a great influence on the error characteristics of the block adjustment results. Thus, the unit model method is applied to the photogrammentric adjustment procedure to study error characterestics with different distributions of control points. Through this study, the second order polynomial equations about bridging distance and plane error are developed in block adjustment of terrestrial photogrammetry. Comparing the block adjustment method and a single model method, root mean square error of the block adjustment method is 0.44mm, and a single model method is 1.06mm.

In this study, the block adjustments are perfomed by bundle adjustment method of analytical photogrammetry, and the characteristics of 3-dimensional errors for the objects are analysed. The optimal arrangement and configuration of the control points is selected from various arrangements and configurations of control points, and the accuracies of result obtained by block adjustment and by single model adjustment are compared, And the accuracy of bundle block adjustment is compared with that of the independent model triangulation which is another method in block adjustment with additional parameters by selecting the suitable systematic error model. As a result of this study, an the effective method to improve accuracy in close-range photogrammetry was presented by forming blocks and using bundle block adjustment with proper arrangement and configuration of control poinst.

This paper describes general procedure and results of the GPS 3rd odor network adjustment which has been carried out for determining coordinates sets with respect to new Korean Geodetic Datum, so-call Korean Geodetic Datum 2002 (KGD 2002). The adjustment begins with minimally constrained adjustments with respect to each of the 69 campaign networks. This was followed by constructing and adjusting sixteen block network. After detecting and removing outliers in the observation file, an attempt was made by applying the empirical stochastic modeling techniques used in the 2nd order network adjustment, so as to determine the magnitude of absolute and relative error for the estimated baseline vector from the GPS data processing. The over constrained adjustment were, in sequence, performed against each of the block network. In this adjustment, both of the 2nd order control points in the block network and the 3rd order control points overlapped with adjacent network whose coordinates were already determined from a preceding adjustment. The final adjustment results have shown that the accuracy of the 3rd order network adjustment was better than 1cm and 2cm in horizontal and vertical component, respectively.

This paper presents on adjustment methods of the vendor-provided RPC(Rational Polynomial Coefficient) of GEO-level stereo images for the IKONOS satellite. RPC are adjusted with control points by the first-order polynomial and the block adjustment method in this study. As results, the maximum error of 3D ground coordinates by the adjusted RPC model did not exceed 4m. The block adjustment method is more stability than the first-order polynomial method.

Mapping and precise point determination by photogrammetry have been shown to be an economic solution. But control points are necessary to determine the exterior orientation parameters. Although the number of required control points has been reduced based on extended bundle adjustment and reinforced cross-strip, the ground survey is a significant factor of whole expenses in photogrammetry. The status of GPS-photogrammetry with kinematic DGPS-positioning to overcome this disadvantages, is now steadly progressive since the first possibility has been proved. The completed satellite configuration, powerful receiver function and upgraded software for kinematic DGPS-positioning have extensively improved the accuracy of combined bundle adjustment. So the research for the operational use of GPS-photogrammetry is absolutely necessary. The presented test field was designed for identification of subsidences in a coal mining area, flown with 60% sidelap and cross strips. Just with 6 control points and combined block adjustment instead of the traditionally used 21 horizontal and 81 vertical control points the same ground accuracy has been reached. The accuracy of kinematic GPS-positioning and combined block adjustment was independent upon the distance of the ground reference station. It also has been showed that the special model for the systematic error correction in the combined block adjustment.
The objective of this investigation is to establish a simple yet effective block adjustment procedure for the orthorectification of multi-orbit satellite images. The major works of the proposed scheme are: (1) adjustment of satellite‘s orbit accurately, (2) calculation of the error vectors for each tie point using digital terrain model and ray tracing technique, (3) refining the orbit using the Least Squares Filtering technique and (4) generation of the orthophotos. In the process of least squares filtering, we use the residual vectors on ground control points and tie points to collocate the orbit. In orthorectification, we use the indirect method to generate the orthoimage. Test areas cover northern Taiwan. Test images are from SPOT 5 satellite. Experimental results indicate that proposed method improves the relative accuracy significantly.

Digital topographical maps used for GIS DB are mainly produced by the traditional way of analogue aerial photogrammetry. Therefore, analogue photos are only available for digital mapping after preprocessing such as film developing, printing and scanning. However, digital aerial camera is able to get digital image directly without preprocessing and thus the performance and efficiency of photogrammetry are extremely increased. This study aims to investigate geometric stability of digital aerial frame camera DMC (Digital Modular Camera). In order to verify the geometric stability of digital aerial camera DMC, some different block conditions with and without cross strips, GPS/INS data and variation of GCPs are introduced in the block adjustment. The accuracy results of every block condition were compared each other by computation of residuals of exterior orientation (EO) parameters. Results of study shows that the geometric stability of the block adjustment with cross strips is increased about 30% against without cross strips. The accuracy of EO parameters of block adjustment with cross strips is also increased about 2cm for X-coordinate, 3cm for Y-coordinate, 3cm for Z-coordinate, and 6" for omega, 4" for phi and 3" for kappa.

We investigated the accuracy in three dimensional geo-positioning derived by four high resolution satellite images acquired by two different sensors using the vendor-provided rational polynomial coefficients(RPC) based block adjustment in this research. We used two in-track stereo pairs of GeoEye-1 and WorldView-2 satellite and DGPS surveying data. In this experiment, we analyzed accuracies of RPC block adjustment models of two kinds of homogeneous stereo pairs, four kinds of heterogeneous stereo pairs, three 3 triplet image pairs, and one quadruplet image pair separately. The result shows that the accuracies of the models are nearly same. The accuracy without any GCPs reaches about CEP(90) 2.3m and LEP(90) 2.5m and the accuracy with single GCP is about CEP(90) 0.3m and LEP(90) 0.5m.

This paper deals with issues of GPS network adjustment for the purpose of determining the $3^{rd}$ order national geodetic control points based on the Korean Geodetic Datum which has newly adopted in the country since early 2003. After examining and arranging all the observations, GPS baseline analyses were performed to estimate baseline vectors between two control points. All the observations were divided into 17 block networks in order to accelerate the adjustment efficiency. After applying a minimally constrained adjustment technique to each of the block networks for the sake of detecting outliers and examining network precision, over constrained adjustments by fixing all of the $2^{nd}$ order control points within the block network were carried out to derive final coordinate sets. The final solutions indicated that the accuracy of the adjusted coordinates was better than 1cm and 2cm in the horizontal and vertical component, respectively.

Nowadays, as going to information society based knowledge, the informations are acquired, processed, serviced based digital environment. In surveying field, the trend have been changed from the analog foundation to the digital foundation. Also, aerial photogrammetry is being changed from analog aerial photogrammetry to digital aerial photogrammetry. In this paper, the analysis of accuracy is performed for the comparison of traditional aerial photogrammetry with digital aerial photogrammetry usign UltracamX in AT and Block Adjustment. As the results, Bundle adjustment in digital aerial photogrammetry with GPS/INS have more advantages than traditional independent adjustment in analog aerial photogrammetry. Digital aerial photogrammetry contributes the higher accuracy in AT and block adjustment more than analog aerial photogrammetry.
