  • The purpose of this study is to examine library service for the blind and visually disabled persons. the coverage of this study is 1) The Concept and categorization of blind and visually disabled persons 2) History of library service for the blind and visually disabled persons. 3) Activities and current situation of library service for the blind and visually disabled persons. 4) Activities of library service for the blind and visually disabled persons in Korea. 5) problems of library service for the blind and visually disabled persons. The followings are some of major points revealed in problems of library service for the blind and visually disabled persons. 1. Attitudinal barriers which grow out of prejudice because of lack of public awareness of all the information services for the blind and visually disabled persons. 2. The development and distribution of reading aids and innovative technology improving access to information for the blind and visually disabled persons. 3. Extension of information service in public library for the blind and visually disabled persons. 4. Copyright problems. 5. Research on blind box packaging design based on consumer psychology

  • A blind box is a kind of sales method in that you can only get the product information by opening the package. In 2019, blind box products began to grow rapidly in the Chinese market, and gradually formed a special "blind box economy". The particularity of blind box products is that driven by consumers' curiosity, consumers' purchasing behavior can be directly induced by the visual and tactile perception of commodity packaging. Therefore, it is necessary to explore the psychological needs of consumers and master the blind box packaging design elements under the influence of consumer psychology. This paper takes figurine blind box packaging elements as the research scope and Chinese blind box consumers as the research object. Through market research and literature study, We are designed to conduct a questionnaire survey and SPSS empirical study to find out the differences in the preferences of different consumer temperament types for blind box packaging, taking the characteristics of blind box products and consumer psychology as the relevant theoretical background. The research results show that among the blind box consumers, choleric type consumers predominate, the color of the blind box packaging presents red, orange, and yellow preference, and the material presents metal, and plastic preference. The shape of the blind box shows a preference for special shape.

An Experimental Study on Comparing Solar Heat Shading Performances in Accordance with the Type of Internal Blinds in the Summer (하절기 내측 블라인드의 유형별 일사차폐성능 비교 실측연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to compare heat shading performance of various blind types in summer. 4 types of blinds were employed and the results are summarized as follows: 1) There were significant differences in indoor thermal environment and heat shading performance between different heat shading devices, and functional blinds demonstrated relatively superior heat shading performance. 2) Indoor long wave radiation influx measures were lowest for the coating roll blind (Blind B), followed by the coating venetian blind (Blind C), the venetian blind (Blind A), the roll blind, and not having any blinds at all. 3) Such examination results carry implications to reduce cooling load and enhance the indoor environment.

A Study on the Classification of Blind Spots in Administrative Welfare Service for the Elderly (노인 행정복지서비스 사각지대의 유형 구분에 관한 연구)

  • In south korea, the elderly population has been continuously increasing, so blind spots in administrative welfare services for the elderly are expected to increase. therefore, this study aimed to analyze the types of blind spots in administrative welfare services for the elderly in gijang-gun, Busan, where the elderly population is increasing. using a network analysis, the demand and service supply ranges were derived. after that, in comparison to their sizes, the blind spots were divided into three types: i) blind spots in service supply, ii) blind spots in mobility constraint, and iii) dual blind spots. As a result, in gijang-gun, the blind spots in mobility constraint were 21.5%, the dual blind spots were 9.5%, and the blind spots in service supply were 3.2%. Based on these results, this study suggested policy directions for resolving the blind spots in administrative welfare services for the elderly by type.

Optimum Blind Control Considering Characteristics of Solar Profile Angle Curve (건물에서 태양 프로파일의 변화 특성을 고려한 블라인드 최적 제어 방안)

  • The objective of this study is to develop the blind control strategy and method which reduce negative effect of incoming daylight on visual comfort of occupants, minimize psychological anxieties caused by frequent motions of a blind, and maximize positive effect of incoming daylight by opening/closing of a blind. In previous researches on blind controls, major problem is that the time interval and amount of blind movement do not meet the control objective at the inflected zone of solar profile curve. To overcome these limitations revealed in theprevious researches, following tasks were performed in this study. i)To establish the control objective to accomplish the goal of this study. ii)To develop the control methods and algorithms which prevent glare on the work-plane at any time and which control the time interval and amount of blind movement to follow the control objective at various solar profile angle curves. This study proposed the control strategy and method that define the base control section implying the inflection point within the control objective zone and subsequently, divide the control sections for the residual time zones. The proposed strategy and method are found to increase the incoming daylight and solar irradiation by 0 to 15 %.

The practical study of contralateral therapeutic theory in acupuncture approach -about the change in the blind spot mapping pre and post acupuncture- (針의 巨刺法에 對한 實證的 硏究 -眼球의 Blind spot 變化에 對하여-)

  • objective to ascertain whether the concept of the therapeutic side is associated with changes in the blind sport mapping that represents the brain function. design Physiological blind spot maps were used as an integer of brain activity before and after acupuncture needling on the meridian point Hapkok(合谷) and Techung(太衝) in the unilateral side decided by double-blind controlled study(20 subjects). setting outpatient clinic participants: adult volunteers intervention twenty subjects were divided into two comparative groups and underwent specific acupuncture therapy on the unilateral side. Blinded examiners obtained reproducible pre and post-acupuncture cortical maps, which were subjected to statistical analysis. main outcome measures Brain activity was demonstrated by reproducible circumferential measurements of cortical hemispheric blind spot maps before and after acupuncture on the unilateral side. in case of acupuncture needling on the ipsilateral side of an enlarged side of bilnd spot, there were reduction of blind spot in 7 cases of 10 subjects, and enlargement in 3 cases. in case of acupuncture needling on the contralateral side of the enlarged side of blind spot, there were enlargement of blind spot in 6 cases of 10 subjects, and reduction in 4 cases. results the significant changes in the blind spots before and after acupuncture were observed Acupuncture needlings on the ipsilateral or contralateral side of an enlarged cortical map were associated with the concept of the therapeutic side traditionally accepted in the oriental medical society. Acupuncture needling on the ipsilateral side of an enlarged blind spot map is associated with the reduction of map, and increaed contralateral cortical activity. Acupuncture needling on the side opposite an enlarged blind spot map is associated with the enlargement of map, and decreased cortical activity. conclusion Reproducible maps of cortical responses can be used to measure the neurological consequences of acupuncture needling. Acupuncture can affect the somatic sensory informations that reach to the contralateral thalamus, and so affect thalamic integration. we found that acupuncture therapy may be associated with an increase or a decrease in brain function depending on the side of acupuncture needling. thus, the traditional concept of the contralateral therapeutic theory in acupuncture approach has the clinical significance in the view of brain function.

A Defective Detector Suppression in the Short Wave Infrared Band of SPOT/VEGETATION-1

  • Since SPOT4 satellite contained VEGETATION 1 sensor launched, the noise in VEGETATION data was occasionally arisen a difficulty for the data traitement. Blind line noise types were studied in VEGETATION-l short wave infrared channel(SWIR). In order to provide a precis product, the procedure for removing this noise is strongly recommended. In the case that the blind values are clearly distinguished from contamination-free values a simple threshold method was applied, while a changeable threshold method was used for the blind value mixed with contamination-free values. New algorithm presented in this study is consists of two method for each type of SWIR blind. After removing blind line, there were again some residual pixels of blind, because the threshold is not determinated sufficiently low. Lower threshold could remove the blind line as well as the contamination-free pixels. Nevertheless, the results showed a good qualitative improvement as compared with other algorithm.

A Study on Simulation for Decreasing Energy Demand According to Window-to-Wall Ratio and Installation Blind System in Building (블라인드 도입과 창면적비에 따른 표준건축물의 에너지 수요 저감에 대한 시뮬레이션 연구)

  • Building energy demands have highly risen in modern society; thus, It is necessary to reduce building energy demands especially commercial buildings adopting a curtain wall architecture. Curtain wall architectures have a high ratio of windows which is a vulnerable in heat insulations as cladding. In order to complement insulation performance of windows in these buildings, there are various methods adopted often such as installing blinds, wing wall and films. There are two suggestions of this paper. 1) WWR (Window-to-Wall Ratio) makes a impaction of energy demands in buildings. 2) Another one is an efficiency of blind systems which are installed in buildings in order to reduce cooling demands. It is also critical to make fundamental model for low-energy building construction by processing a lot of simulation As a result by this study, 1) an external blind system is more useful for reducing cooling energy demands rather than an internal blind system. 2) Buildings which have a large window require more amount of cooling demands. In case of WWR 45%, it needs more cooling energy rather than WWR 15% model's 3) Adopting blind system would reduce energy demands. WWR 45% model with external blind systems reduces about 4% of cooling energy demands compared to same model without any blind systems.4) it is necessary to study an efficiency of blind systems combined with renewable energy and it will be possible to reduce more energy demand in building significantly.

The Blind Modeling of Horizontal Blind Using the RADIANCE Program (RADIANCE프로그램을 이용한 블라인드 모델링)

  • This study is using the RADIANCE lighting simulation tool to determine the transmittance where the horizontal blind is installed. The transmittance is applied to DayDim program which is a lighting calculation and analysis tool. Parameters such as clear sky type, seasonal changes(the summer solstice), altitude, azimuth and horizontal blind angle at a 0$^{\circ}$, 45$^{\circ}$, 90$^{\circ}$ were considered. The simulation results present that measured directional transmittances have different values according to each directional property of the horizontal blind.

A Study on the Manufacturing Technology of a Folding Blind Rivet (폴딩 블라인드 리벳의 제조기술에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, the manufacturing technology of a folding blind rivet was developed through finite element analysis(FEA). Numerical simulations of the folding blind rivet used to join two components have been performed with the finite element method for the forging process design. To minimize the process and manufacture the folding blind rivet without defects, a variety of design rules were proposed. From the results of FEA applied process design rules, an optimal six-stage process was proposed. The finite element simulation results such as shape of the forged rivet, strain distribution and forging load were investigated for the usefulness of the forging process of the blind rivet. In addition, the experiments have been implemented and their results were compared to the analytic results.
