라틴 아메리칸 댄스 스포츠 의상의 디자인 특성 (Characteristics of Latin American dance sports costume design)

  • The purpose of this study is to collect and analyze costumes presented in international dance sports competitions, and summarize the features of Latin American dance costumes' design. As for research methods, standards of Latin American dance costume design were analyzed via a literature review on dance sports. The scope of the study extended for six years from 2010 to 2015 to include the, top three UK Latin American dance competitions. The results are as follows. First, the silhouette analysis determined that the X silhouette to the lead with, -145 costumes (78%), followed by the H silhouette at 25 (13%), and other at 16 (9%). Amongst those there were 174 one-piece dresses (94%). Furthermore, the analysis on colors of Latin American dance sports costumes revealed that, amongst the 186 costumes, 115 were without color (62%), Bl(black) is the most frequent with 37%, then Wh(white) with 21% and Gr(gray) with 4%. Costumes with colors, based on the six basic colors in the Munsell color system, are comprised most often of red with 12%, the followed by Y(yellow) at 10%, B(blue) at 8%, YR(yellow-red) at 4%, P(purple) at 2%, and G(green) at 2%. Thirdly, the cloth materials of Latin American dance costumes are recognized through image inspection. Among visually recognizable materials, beading materials are the most common with 104 costumes (60%). Shiny materials like mesh, chiffon, organza, lace and burn-out are in 36 costumes in total (19%). Other cloth materials included Luster materials and; non-sheen materials, which were in 46 costumes (25%).

비만 여성과 정상체중 여성의 밥그릇 크기와 색상에 따른 백미밥 인지량의 차이 (Difference in Volume Perception of Cooked White Rice according to Size and Color of Rice Bowl in Normal and Obese Women)

  • To examine the effect of obesity on volume perception according to size and color of rice bowl, we divided female college students into a normal weight group (<30% fat mass, n=100) and obese group (${\geq}30%$ fat mass, n=83) and then measured perceived volume of rice bowls of various sizes (general size; 350 ml vs. small size; 188 ml) and color (yellow, white, blue, and black) containing the same amount of cooked white rice (210 g). Normal weight group perceived that the general rice bowl contained significantly more cooked white rice compared to the small rice bowl. In contrast, the obese group perceived that the general rice bowl contained significantly less cooked white rice than the small rice bowl. The estimated variance in perceived volume of both bowls was significantly bigger in the obese group compared to the normal group. There were no differences in perceived volume among any of the subjects (both normal and obese groups) according to rice bowl color. However, the estimated variance in perceived volume in the obese group was significantly larger than that in the normal group for all of the rice bowls. In conclusion, rice bowl size and color might affect volume perception, and volume perception in obese people may be different from that of normal weight people.

미국 대통령 예비선거에 적용한 시공간 의존성을 고려한 자기로지스틱 회귀모형 연구 (Autologistic models with an application to US presidential primaries considering spatial and temporal dependence)

  • 미국 대통령 예선은 선거인단이 시차를 두고 여러 회에 걸쳐 진행되는 특징이 있음에도 많은 연구가 진행되지 않았다. 본 연구에서는 다양한 자기로지스틱 모형을 통해 미국 대통령 예비선거 결과와 사회경제적 변수간의 시공간 의존성의 관계를 파악하고자 한다. 2016년 데이터에 적용한 분석결과 각 카운티의 노년층, 흑인, 여성 그리고 히스패닉 인구 비율이 높은 지역일수록 힐러리 클린턴을 지지할 확률이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 주변 카운티에서 많은 지지를 받은 후보가 이웃 지역에서도 많이 지지를 받을 확률이 높고 이전 선거에서 많은 지지를 받는 것과 다음 선거 지역의 결과 간의 상관관계도 확인되었다. 시공간 의존성을 알아보기 위한 모형 중에서 슈퍼화요일의 선거 결과가 이후 선거와 관련이 있다고 가정한 모형의 설명력이 가장 높은 것으로 판명되었다.

한국 남해에서 출현한 돌돔 (Oplegnathus fasciatus)과 강담돔 (Oplegnathus punctatus) 사이의 자연교잡종 (Occurrence of Natural Hybrid between Oplegnathus fasciatus and Oplegnathus punctatus from the South Sea of Korea)

  • 2008년 8월 경남 통영에서 강담돔과 돌돔의 자연교잡종 1개체가 발견되어 형태 및 유전적 특정을 강담돔 및 돌돔과 비교하였다. 형태적으로 본 총은 체측에 선명한 검은색 둥근 점을 많이 가지며 동시에 4개의 연한 가로줄을 가져 강담돔과 비슷하였다. 강담돔 및 돌돔의 계수 계측형질이 거의 일치하였으나, 체장에 대한 배지느러미길이 비에서 자연교잡종(26.7%)은 돌돔(17.2~23.6%)보다 강담돔(26.4%)에 더욱 가까웠다. 미토콘드리아 DNA 16S rRNA 510 bp를 이용한 분자분석에서 자연교잡종은 형태결과와는 달리 강담돔(d=0.020)보다 돌돔(d=0.000~0.010)에 더욱 가까웠다. 본 연구결과를 통해 경남 통영에서 발견된 자연교잡종은 암컷 돌돔과 수컷 강담돔 사이에서 태어난 것으로 추정된다.

의학과 학생들의 수술실 임상실습 중 실신 및 실신 전조증상 경험 빈도 (Prevalence of Operation Room-Related Syncope and Presyncope among Medical Students)

  • Attending the operation room is an essential part of surgical clerkships. Syncope or presyncopal attacks in the operation room may negatively affect students' learning and career development. This study set out to identify the prevalence of syncope and presyncopal attacks in the operation room during medical students' surgical clerkships. Data from 420 medical students (303 men and 117 women) in their 3rd year of clerkship were collected between 2014 and 2017. An anonymous questionnaire was distributed to assess the prevalence and degree of syncope and presyncopal symptoms. A total of 27% of the respondents had experienced syncope or presyncopal symptoms, 49.6% of the female students and 18.8% of the male students (p<0.001). Fifty students (43.5%) had been attending as observers at the time of the syncopal attack, while 65 students (56.5%) had been participating as assistants. Thirty-four students (29.6%) had recently eaten at the time of the syncopal attack, while 81 students (70.4%) had not recently eaten. Prodromal symptoms included the urge to sit down (21.2%), sweating (19.3%), nausea (16.9%), a feeling of warmth (13.3%), darkened vision (12.6%), yawning (11.7%), palpitation (11.0%), ear fullness (10.2%), black spots in one's vision (7.6%), and hyperventilation (7.1%). This study showed the prevalence of syncope and presyncopal symptoms in the operation room during surgical clerkships. For students' safety and effective clerkship learning, thorough proactive education on syncopal attacks is required.

패션 이미지 유형(類型)과 디자인 요소(要素)와의 관계(關係)(I) (A Relationship Between Fashion Image Types and Design Factors(I))

  • The role of fashion image in modern society is being diversified from product planning to consumer satisfaction. In this research, after surveying female college students, the diversified modern fashion image was patterned. On the analogy of the relationship between these patterned image and design factors, the following conclusion was obtained. 1. The most popular styles are jacket and pants suits, three-piece outfits, tight mini-skirts and X-silhouette. Little decoration is used in general. simplicity is shown as trend by utility fabrics in single color-black, brown, beige and blue-with no pattern. Various materials such as wool, cotton, wool or cotton blended with other materials, silk, satin, knit, lace, vinyl and leather are used. 2. Fashion image is divided into four factors; factors that show fad, dignity, activity and simplicity. 3. Factors that show fad; style of tops, material of bottoms and length of bottoms reflect fad. blousons, three-piece outfits, pants rather than skirts, X-silhouette and mini-skirts are prevailing. Vinyl, leather, knit, lace and satin are the materials well used. 4. Factors that show dignity; Style and material of tops, the way of top and bottom pieces are matched and length of bottom or pieces reveal the characteristics. Jackets, blouses, half-coats and one-piece outfits rather than two-pieces are popular. Tight skirts in natural or midi length or pleated skirts are common. Wool, wool blended with other materials, leather and X-silhouette are design factors that reveal dignity well. 5. Design factors that show active image; Straight pants, three-piece outfits, T-shirts, shirt -blouses, vests, and blausons are popular. Knit and lace are used for tops, leather and vinyl are used for bottom pieces and cotton is widely used. Y- or H-silhouette are used to show active image.

한일 대학생의 색지각에 대한 비교연구 (The Comparison of the Color Perception between the Korean and the Japanese undergraduates)

  • 본 연구는 육안비색법으로 파악한 13개의 일본표준색올 색채색차계를 이용하여 측색하여 일본표준색에 대한 남녀대학생의 색지각 범위를 CIE색도도 위에서 파악하여 이를 한국의 결과와 비교하는데 그 목적이 있다. 남자 140명, 여자 119명 계 259명의 일본대학생을 대상으로 한 실험결과 다음과 같은 사항을 밝혔다. 1) 일본대학생의 색지각은 크게 4가지 유형으로 구분되었다. 즉, 赤, 黃, 靑, 白, 灰, 黑이 속한 단순형, 黃綠,赤緊가 속한 X형, 綠이 속한 Y형, 靑綠, 緊, 靑緊, 黃赤이 속한 복합형이다. 2) 한일 양국인의 색지각유형을 비교한 결과, 黃赤, 靑, 靑綠, 赤緊의 경우는 지각유형이 아주 다르다는 것을 알았다. 3) 표준색과 평균지각색을 비교한 결과, 끊은 그 값이 유사하였으나 줌은 표준색과 평균 지각색 사이의 차 가 크다. 그리고 한일간의 비교를 한 결과, 한국인이 일본인보다 정확하게 색을 지각하고 있음을 알았다.

토마토녹응애의 형태, 생태 및 방제 (Morphology, Biology and Chemical Control of Tomato Russet mite, Aculops lycopersici Massee (Acari: Eriophyidae) in Korea)

  • 토마토녹응애(개칭)에 대해 주사전자현미경 관찰, 국내 분포, 기주식물, 온도에 따른 발육상, 약제 방제법에 관하여 연구하였다. 토마토녹응애는 2쌍의 다리를 가진 길이 $134.9\mu\textrm{m}$의 미소동물로 feathered claw는 4줄이었다. 피해증상으로, 피해엽은 적갈색으로 변하고 줄기에는 털이 없어지고 광택이 나거나 표면이 그물형으로 갈라지며, 새순은 시들거나 위축된다. 과일은 과경 부근에 그을음이나 녹이 긴 것 같이 되고, 그물형으로 갈라진다. 충남의 부여와 유성, 강원도 평창, 경북의 칠곡, 구룡포의 유리온실에서 발견되었으며, 한국에서 기주로는 메꽃, 까마중, 가지, 꽈리, 나팔꽃, 페투니아, 감자, 고추, 담배, 토마토 등이 확인되었다. 이 응애는 $15-30^{\circ}C$에서 발육이 가능하였고, 한 세대는 6-11일로 높은 온도일수록 발육기간이 짧아지는 경향이었으며, 암컷이 수컷보다 수명이 길었는데, 25-28$^{\circ}C$에서 12일로 가장 수명이 길었다. 살비제 중에서 fenazaquin과 cypermethrin의 효과가 가장 좋았다.

자기이미지와 니트웨어 선호도 및 착용빈도 연구 (Preference and Wearing Frequency of Knit-Wears Related to Self-Image)

  • The purposes of this study were to investigate the relationships between women's self-image and the preference and the wearing frequency of knit-wears, and to examine the characteristics of the design elements that influence the preferred knit-wear images. The subjects were 277 female college students and working women living in metropolitan area of Seoul. The data were analyzed by using descriptive analysis, factor analysis, Cronbach's $\alpha$-reliability coefficient, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analysis. Four dimensions of women's self-images were derived by factor analysis; elegance, conservativeness, individuality, and maturity. Women with conservative self-image preferred simple knit-wears and women with high rate for individuality preferred splendid and sporty knit-wears. Women with elegant self-image disliked sporty knit-wears. Women with conservative self-image preferred white, and those who rated their self-image to be individuality preferred various colors including yellow, blue, green, purple, pink, and sky-blue. Women with mature self-image preferred black and beige. Women with individuality as their self-image preferred jacquard pattern and abstract pattern. There was a higher wearing frequency for all four seasons for women with conservative self-image, and there was higher wearing frequency in the winter for those with elegant self-images. Women who preferred simple knit-wears showed preference for single color with no prints and low chroma color, and those who preferred sporty knit-wears showed preference for elastic materials. Women who preferred neat and elegant knit-wears showed preference for argyle check pattern.

중년 여성을 타겟으로 하는 여성복 광고에 나타난 모델 이미지 (Images of models in womenswear advertisements targeting middle-aged women)

  • This study analyzes the images of models in womenswear advertisements targeting women in their fifties. The goals of this study are: 1) to investigate beauty ideals for middle-aged women by analyzing models' look age, chronological age, wrinkles, gray hair, hair length, body type, and race; and 2) to explore how ageing is dealt with in advertisements by analyzing the range of bodies shown in advertisements, the color mode of photographs, and the clarity of models' figures in relation to models' look ages. A total of 155 printed advertisements from January 2012 to January 2017 from the brands Daks Ladies, Lebeige, Luciano Choi, PAT, and Zishen were selected for analysis. Womenswear brands targeting middle-aged women reinforce cultural ideals of female beauty that emphasize youth and slenderness. They do this by using thin and slender models, who most often appear to be in their twenties and thirties, and have hair longer than their shoulders. Brands with higher price ranges show a preference for Caucasian models, which reveals that a Caucasian identity is associated with sophistication. In addition, the bodies of models who appear to be in their forties and fifties were concealed by framing photographs mostly above the knees. Older models' features were also obscured via the use of black and white photography, strong lighting and contrast, and digital editing that blurred the boundaries between figures and their backgrounds. These decisions for how to represent models could result in negative self-esteem and a denial of the symptoms of ageing among middle-aged women.
