수산물가공폐수의 혐기.호기 생물학적 반응특성 (Anaerobic/Aerobic Biological Reaction Characteristics of the Marine Products Industry Wastewater)

  • This study was undertaken to establish the biological reaction characteristics of the marine products industry wastewater which contains high concentrations of organic matter and saline. As the S/I is varied from 0.3 to 1.2, the results were follows : the observed ultimate anaerobic biodegradability varied from 72.0 to 88.0%, the first order reaction rate varied from 0.1735 to $0.3420\;day^{-1}$ and the second order reaction rate varied from 0.0132 to $0.0295\;day^{-1}$. When S/I was 0.9, the first order reaction rate had a maximum value, but the variations of the second order reaction rate were less than 1st-order reaction rate. When the operation time exceeded 2 days the gas production rapidly increased. The source of this rapid increase was due to that the activity of the granular sludge used in this study being faster than that of conventional sludge. Under aerobic condition, the characteristics of organic matter were as follows: the marine industry wastewater used in this study contained about 81% of biodegradable matter, and it was divided into readily biodegradable COD(Ss), slowly biodegradable COD(Xs), soluble COD(Si) and inert suspended COD (Xi). The percentages of each COD were 87.3%, 23.9%, 6.4% and 12.4% respectively.

  • The simulation programs used for diagnosis and design of activated sludge process require organic fractions in municipal wastewater as the input variables. However, methods for characterizing organic fractions are still under development, and are not standardized. In this study, total COD of municipal wastewater was experimentally subdivided into readily and slowly biodegradable COD as well as soluble and particulate inert COD. The COD fractionation of the three municipal wastewater for one year shows linear relationship between each COD fraction and TCOD concentration with around 100% COD balance. This result means that the COD fraction do not vary very much with time, although the actual influent concentrations vary significantly with time and day. Therefore, the experimentally subdivided COD fractions can be utilized as wastewater specific parameters for the simulation of activated sludge processes.

하천오염분석에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Stream Pollution Analysis)

  • Warburg 실험장치와 회분식 폭기조를 사용하여 하천의 저질을 대상으로 징생물에 의한 분해가능물질의 처리정도와 화학적산소요구량, 총유기성 및 암모니아성 질소, 총유기탄소의 변화를 측정하였다. Warburg 실험장치는 빛을 차단하고 2$0^{\circ}C$로 운영하여 징생물의 시료에 대한 산소소비율, 탈산소계수, 일단계 탄소화합물의 생화학적 산소요구량을 구했으며, 회분식 폭기조는 실혼에서 운영하여 폭기에 의한 COD, TKN 및 TOC의 시간별 처리도를 구하여 상관관계를 조사하였다. 실험결과 시료의 TOC는 매우 높았으나 Warburg 실험장치에 의해 48시간 운영한 후, 초기 TOC의 10% 미만이 징생물에 의한 분해가능 물질로 나타났으며 이들의 상관관계는 찾지 못하였다. 순간산소요구량이 커서 하천의 준설등에 의해 급격히 용존산소가 소비되 수질을 악화시킬 염려가 있었다.

한강권역 우심지류 하천의 유기물 분포 특성 (The Distribution Characteristics of Organic Matters in the Contaminated Tributaries of Han River Region)

  • The purpose of this study was to understand distribution characteristics of organic matters through concentration of $BOD_5$, $COD_{Mn}$ and TOC in 31 streams in Han River region, and to establish the relationship among organic matter concentration, and discharge load and flow rate. Concentration of $BOD_5$ and TOC in 22 streams were above IV grade except 9, and the average 80.9 % of total organic matter (by TOC) accounted for dissolved organic type. Correlation among organic matter parameters were higher ($r^2$ > 0.78) and the relationship between TOC and $COD_{Mn}$ concentration was higher than $BOD_5$. Ratio of biodegradable organic matter/total organic matter in the 31 streams was estimated at 41.4 % with $BOD_5$ oxidation rate, and 78.0 % with $BOD_5/COD_{Mn}$ concentration ratio. Ratio of $NBOD/BOD_5$ concentration in four sites with $BOD_5/COD_{Mn}$ concentration ratio exceeding 1 ranged from 54.5 % ~ 79.3 %. Among 979 flow rate data measured at 31 streams, 87 % of measured data was below 0.1 cms and increased water pollution under low flow conditions. Correlation between $BOD_5$ concentration and $BOD_5$ discharge load in the watershed was low, and it was revealed that several streams have more $BOD_5$ delivery load than $BOD_5$ discharge load. Results suggest that many biodegradable forms of organic matter are being introduced into the stream from pollutant sources in the watershed.

Bis(2-chloroethyl) Ether (BCEE)의 오존산화 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study of Ozonation Characteristics of Bis(2-chloroethyl) Ether)

  • 본 논문에서는 실험실적 규모의 반응기에서 수용액상 bis(2-chloroethyl) ether (BCEE)의 오존산화반응에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 오존산화반응은 BCEE 용액이 포함되어 있는 반응기 바닥에 오존 기체를 주입하여 진행하였으며 $50{\pm}10mg/L$의 오존 농도로 80 min 반응시켜 완결하였다. BCEE의 오존산화처리 효율을 $BOD_5$, $COD_{Cr}$, 그리고 TOC의 변화로 측정하였다. BCEE의 오존산화반응결과 $COD_{Cr}$가 62.79%, TOC의 57.25% 감소된 것은 생분해 가능한 중간체가 생성되었음을 알 수 있다($BOD_5/COD_{Cr}$ = 0.39). 본 연구의 결과는 BCEE와 같은 비생분해성 물질을 포함하는 폐수가 오존산화처리 후에 생물학적 처리를 함으로써 성공적으로 처리될 수 있다는 것을 보여주었다. $30^{\circ}C$에서 유사 1차 반응속도 상수는 $2.00{\times}10^{-4}sec^{-1}$, 활성화 에너지는 $10.02kcal{\cdot}mol^{-1}$로 나타났다.

생물난분해성 유기물질 함유 폐수처리를 위한 Fenton 산화법의 효율적 적용방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Efficient Applicability of Fenton Oxidation for the Wastewater Containing Non-biodegradable Organics)

  • This research is about wastewater containing non-biodegradable TDI(Toluene Diisocyanate) that is treated by the activated carbon adsorption method. In the case of the Fenton oxidation process being applied to the existing process, optimal pH, reaction time, chemical dosing amount, removal rate, and cost were investigated. A pilot plant test was applied after finding optimal conditions with lab experiments. The optimal conditions were pH 3~5(COD removal rate 84~88%) and reaction time 30min~1hr. In higher $H_2O_2$ dosing amount, COD removal rate was a little higher. But there was little difference in the removal rate according to $FeSO_4{\cdot}7H_2O$ dosing amount. Treatment cost was economical in the case of the Fenton oxidation process being operated earlier than activated carbon adsorption system. But chemical dosing point, chemical mixing effect, chemical dosing amount, removal rate, and the cost of facility and others must be considered in practical process.

Acetaldehyde폐수의 활성오이법에 의한 기질제거조건 (Substrate Removal Condition in Activated Sludge Process of Wastewater from Acetaldehyde Manufacturing Plant)

  • This study is conducted to investigate treatability by activated sludge process for wastewater from acetaldehyde manufacturing plant. The optimum hydraulic retention time in aeration tank for removal of high strength substrate were measured. The removal efficiency were checked out by hydraulic retention time : 35hr., 40hr. and 45hr., respectively. $COD_{Cr}$, like substances were removed in all hydraulic retention time zone directed for efficiency, but non-biodegradable substances were remained. $COD_{Cr}$ biomass loading was 0.81kg $COD_{Cr}/kgMLVSS$ . day at 35hr. of retention time, 0.34 kg$COD_{Cr}$/kg MLVSS . day at 40hr., and O.l9kg$COD_Cr$/kgMLVSS . day at 45hr. And the mean $COD_{Cr}$, removal efficiency was 65.5%, 81.6% and 83.0%, respectively. And also $COD_{Cr}$, volume loading was 1.01kg$COD_{Cr}/m^3$ day, 0.87kg$COD_{Cr}/m^3$ - day, and 0.79kg$COD_{Cr}/m^3{\cdot }$day, respectively. The basic design parameter obtained is as fallows. The value of Specific substrate removal rate coefficient (k), Yield coefficient(Y) and Decay coefficient($k_d$) was $0.0013day^{-1}$, $0.505kgMLVSS/kgCOD_{Cr}$ and $0.040day^{-1}$, respectively.

세라믹 담체를 이용한 안료폐수의 호기성처리 (Aerobic Treatment of Pigment Wastewater using Ceramic Support Carrier)

  • Wastewater from the pigment industry has high levels of organics and is known as hardly biodegradable. The objective of this study is to evaluate the applicability of aerobic fixed-bed boifilm reactor packed with ceramic support carrier for the pigment wastewater treatment. Orange 2(widely used azo pigment) adsorption experiment onto biofilm and activated sludge, and continuous treatment experiments were performed. In batch adsorption experiment, maximum adsorption quantity of biofilm was at least two times higher than that of activated sludge. In continuous experiment using aerobic fixed-bed biodilm reactor, the influent concentration of COD and Orange 2 were 75~500mg/${\ell}$(0.45~3.00kg COD/$m^3.day), 5~50mg/$\ell$(0.03~0.30kg Orange 2/$m^3$.day), respectively. At a COD loading rate 2.5kg COD/$m^3$.day and Orange 2 loading rate of 0.18kg Orange 2/$m^3$.day, removal efficiency of COD and Orange 2 were over 95%, 97%, respectively.

광촉매공정 적용시 축산폐수의 처리특성 및 최적화 (Optimization and Characteristics of Removal Condition of Livestock Wastewater Using a Photocatalytic Process)

  • 축산폐수처리에 광촉매공정을 적용하였을 때 운전변수 중 자외선 조사거리, 반응면적, 부유고형물(SS)농도, 컬럼직경이 처리율에 미치는 영향을 실험실 규모의 광촉매반응기를 사용하여 실험하였다. 최적운전조건은 자외선 조사거리 3 cm (7 cm 이하 권장), 반응면적 $3.6\;m^2$, SS농도 40 mg/L (300 mg/L이하 권장), 컬럼직경 5 mm (10 mm 이하 권장)로서 COD, 색도, coliform 제거율이 반응시간 300 min에서 각각 49%, 53% 100%로 나타났다. 최적운전조건에서 난분해성 COD의 제거율은 57%로 나타나 광촉매반응이 난분해성 유기물제거에 어느 정도 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다.

  • 일반 활성슬러지 공정에서 유입수의 COD 분율은 매우 중요한 인자이다. 강화된 수질기준의 준수를 위해서는 유입수내 COD 분율화에 기초한 활성슬러지 공정의 주요 운영조건 변화가 요구된다. 본 연구에서는 이분해성 COD와 천천히 분해되는 COD의 대표 구성물질로써 글루코스와 펩톤을 이용하여 기지농도의 합성폐수를 조제하였으며, 산소이용율(OUR)과 질산성질소 이용율(NUR)을 이용하여 기지의 농도로 제조된 합성폐수에 대해 기존 COD 분율화 방법활용시 결과예측의 정확성 검증과 평가에 관한 실험을 수행하였다. OUR 실험의 경우, 기지의 농도로 제조된 합성폐수와 일치되는 결과를 얻을 수 있었으나 NUR 실험의 경우, 유입수 분율화에 오차가 발생하는 것으로 나타났다. 이와 같은 오차는 인축적 미생물(PAOs)와 같은 저장 미생물의 내부저장기작에 의한 결과로써 유입수 분율화에 최대 8-14 %의 오차를 유발하는 것으로 나타났다.
