Phase Equilibrium of Binary Mixture for the (propylene oxide + 1-pentanol) System at Several Temperatures

  • Isothermal (vapor + liquid) equilibrium data measurements were undertaken for the binary mixtures of (propylene oxide + 1-pentanol) system at three different temperatures (303.15, 318.15, and 333.15) K. The Peng-Robinson-Stryjek-Vera equation of state (PRSV EOS) was used to correlate the experimental data. The van der Waals one-fluid mixing rule was used for the vapor phase and the Wong-Sandler mixing rule, which incorporates the non-random two liquid (NRTL) model, the universal quasi-chemical (UNIQUAC) model and the Wilson model, was used for the liquid phase. The experimental data were in good agreement with the correlation results.

  • 인화점은 산업현장에서 화재 및 폭발의 위험성을 결정하는데 사용되는 중요한 지표의 하나로 안정성 평가 시 많이 사용되고 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 고무제조 공정에서 주로 쓰이는 이성분계 혼합물 중 {toluene+ethylbenzene}, {methlycyclohenxane+ethylbenzene} 그리고 {n-heptane+ethylbenzene} 대한 인화점을 101.3 kPa에서 SETA 밀폐식 인화점 측정기를 이용하여 측정하였다. 각 이성분계에 대하여 Raoult's의 법칙, Wilson, NRTL 및 UNIQUAC 파라미터를 이용하여 혼합물에 대한 인화점 예측하고 실험 결과와 비교하였다. 비교 결과 모든 예측값과 실험값은 유사한 값을 보였고 편차가 1.74 K이내의 결과를 보였다.

  • The objective of this work is to measure space and time resolved wall heat fluxes during nucleate pool boiling of R113/R11 mixtures using a microscale heater array in conjunction with a high speed CCD. The microscale heater array is constructed using VLSI techniques, and consists of 96 serpentine platinum resistance heaters on a transparent quartz substrate. Electronic feedback circuits are used to keep the temperature of each heater at a specified temperature and the variation in heating power required to keep the temperature constant is measured. Heat flux data around an isolated bubble are obtained with triggered CCD images. CCD images are obtained at a rate of 1000frames/second. The heat transfer variation vs. time on the heaters directly around the nucleation site is plotted and correlated with images of the bubble obtainedby using the high speed CCD. For both of the mixture(R11/R113) and pure system(pure R11, pure R113), the wall heat fluxes are presented and compared to find out the qualitative difference between pure and binary mixture nucleate boiling.

  • p-iodo-phenyl octadecyl ether (I-POE)와 p-iodo-phenyl docosyl ether (I-PDE)의 분자의 흑연표면에서의 자기조립과 이 두 분자로 이루어진 혼합물의 자기조립을 주사 터널링 현미경을 이용하여 연구하였다. 각 분자 시스템은 흑연 표면에서 head-to-tail 배향의 안정된 단분자막으로 자기조립한다. 혼합물 시스템에서는 I-POE와 I-PDE 분자들은 표면에서 섞이지 않고, 고립된 단분자막 도메인을 형성한다. 특히 I-POE 분자는 흑연 표면에서 단분자막 구조를 우선적으로 형성하는데 이는 알킬 사슬 길이와 작용기를 가진 헤드 그룹의 효과에 기인한다.

밀폐식 장치를 사용한 Water+1-Propanol 과 Water+2-Propanol의 인화점 측정과 계산 (The Calculation and Measurement of Flash Point for Water+1-Propanol and Water+2-Propanol Using Closed Cup Aparatus)

  • 인화점은 가연성 액체 용액을 안전하게 취급하기 위한 중요한 성질 중 하나이다. 본 논문에서는 Seta flash 밀폐식 장치를 이용하여 이성분계 용액인 water+1-propanol과 water+2-propanol계의 인화점을 측정하였다. 회귀 분석법을 이용하여 인화점을 계산하였다. 또한 라울의 법칙을 이용하여 인화점을 계산하였고, van Laar 식의 이성분계 파라미터를 최적화시키는 방법을 통해 인화점을 예측하였다. 각 인화점 계산 결과와 측정 결과를 비교하였다. 그 결과, 회귀 분석법에 의한 인화점 계산치가 가장 측정치를 잘 모사하였다.

2 성분 혼합물을 작동유체로 사용하는 태양열 집열기용 히트파이프의 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study of a Heat pipe with Binary Mixture Working Fluid for Solar Collector)

  • Heat pipes with binary mixture fabricated and tested for applications where condenser temperature is in a range of $10^{\circ}C$ to $130^{\circ}C$. The pipe materials 8.0 mm O.D. cupper tube and the working fluids are ethanol-water mixtures. The total length of test of the heat pipe was 1710mm in which evaporator section was 1570mm, adiabatic section was 50mm and condenser section was 90mm. Mixing ratios of ethanol and water could be variable in mole fraction. Temperature of condenser section was $10^{\circ}C$, $80^{\circ}C$ and $130^{\circ}C$. Heat pipe performance experimental study was accomplished with change of mixing ratio in these temperatures. The fill charge ratio was 20% of the heat pipe volume. Wick structure was woven-wire and method of experimental work was that thermal load was increased 20W step until the heat pipe wall temperature reached at $150^{\circ}C$. Results were following: At coolant $10^{\circ}C$ and $130^{\circ}C$, mixing ratio that have beat thermal performance was 0.8M+ and at coolant $80^{\circ}C$, was 0.3 ${\sim}$ 0.5 M+.

Methanol, Ethanol, 1-propanol 그리고 Toluene 이성분 혼합계에 대한 인화점 측정 (Measurement of Flash Point for Binary Mixtures of Methanol, Ethanol, 1-propanol and Toluene)

  • 인화점은 산업현장에서 액체의 화재 및 폭발 위험을 결정하는데 사용되는 가장 중요한 변수 중 하나로써 가연성 물질의 화재 위험성을 나타내는 지표이며 안정성 평가에 많이 사용되고 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 다양한 산업에서 용매로 사용되는 이성분계 혼합물 중 {methanol+toluene}, {ethanol+toluene} 그리고 {1-propanol+toluene}에 대한 인화점을 SETA 밀폐식 인화점 측정기를 이용하여 측정하였다. 각 이성분계 혼합물에 대한 인화점을 예측하기 위해 Raoult's의 법칙, Wilson, NRTL 및 UNIQUAC 파라미터를 이용하였고 실험 결과와 비교하였다. Raoult's의 법칙을 제외한 비교 결과, 모든 예측값과 실험값은 유사한 값을 보였고 편차가 1.69 K이내의 결과를 보였다.

Morphology Effect on Electrocatalytic Activity of TiO2 Spheres Synthesized by Binary Ionic Liquids in Water Electrolysis

  • Titania spheres were synthesized using binary ionic liquids to examine the electrocatalytic activity in acid solution. The morphology of $TiO_2$ particles was significantly different with the composition of ionic liquids. Among the binary ionic liquids, four set of mixtures led to the formation of $TiO_2$ sphere with various sizes. The morphology and structure of $TiO_2$ particles were characterized by XRD, $N_2$ physisoption and SEM analysis. All samples possessed an anatase phase after calcinations at $500^{\circ}C$. The structural properties of the samples were varied significantly with the morphology. In cyclic voltammograms, the morphology of $TiO_2$ spheres affected the electrocatalytic activity in water electrolysis. Among the samples, [Omim][$BF_4$]+[Hmim][$BF_4$] was the most effective ionic liquid to synthesize $TiO_2$ sphere with optimum morphology showing the highest electocatalytic performance.

Fire resistance of hybrid fiber reinforced SCC: Effect of use of polyvinyl-alcohol or polypropylene with single and binary steel fiber

  • This study presents the experimental results performed to evaluate the effects of Polyvinyl-alcohol (PVA) and Polypropylene (PP) fibers on the fresh and residual mechanical properties of the hybrid fiber reinforced SCC before and after the exposure of 250℃, 500℃ and 750℃ temperatures. The compressive and splitting tensile strength, modulus of rupture (MOR), ultrasonic pulse velocity (UPV) as well as toughness and weight loss were investigated at different temperatures. PVA and PP fibers were added into SCC mixtures having only macro steel fiber and also having binary hybridization of both macro and micro steel fiber. The results showed that the use of micro steel fiber replaced by macro steel fiber improved the fresh and hardened properties compared to the use of only macro steel fiber. Moreover, it was emphasized that PVA or PP enhanced the residual flexural performance of SCC, generally, while it negatively influenced the workability, weight loss, UPV and the residual strengths with regards to the use of single steel fiber and binary steel fiber hybridization. Compared to the effect of synthetic fibers, PP had slightly more positive effect in the view of workability while PVA enhanced the residual mechanical properties more.

  • Some photopolymer, poly(vinyl cinnamoyl acetate)(PVCiA) was synthesized by esterification of polymer(vinyl alcohol)(PVA) with monochloroacetic acid, followed by reaction poly(vinyl monochloroacetate)(PVAhA) and potassium cinnamate. When esterification of PVA with monochloroacetic acid was reacted in the dimethyl sulfoxide(DMSO), in the synthesis of PVChA, it is very good yield and the successive cinnamoyl acetoxyl esterification of PVCiA can be successfully synthesized. But PVCiA is low photosensitive polymer if net added photosensitizing dyes. Here, we synthesized photosensitizing dyes.
