The domain of LED is analyzed for describing the current status of Korea's R&D in the domain comparing with those of others quantitatively. Fourteen sub-domains of LED manufacturing technology are selected and the time span for analysis is ten-year: 2001-2010. Bibiliometric analysis is performed by the unit of publication, core researcher, institution and country. Strategical diagram is also produced with devised two indicators: NGI and NPI. As a result, Korea is competitive in the area of Chip Scale Package, but R&D supports in another promising areas, such as large-caliber sapphire wafer, are necessary. It is also revealed that research activities are expanded dominantly in academia, but practical technologies are developed in industrial circle. It is suggested that to support core corporate and to encourage industrial-academic collaboration is essential for systematical technology development and high achievement in prominent areas.

This study reviews articles in published in the The Journal of Korean Biblio Society for Library and Information Science (JKBSLIS) over 5 years from 2010 to 2014 for identifying the academic characteristics and the recent research trends of the JKBSLIS. 300 articles of JKBSLIS are analyzed in terms of bibliometric factors, research theme, methodology, author keywords, and intellectual structure comparing with 344 articles of the Journal of Korean Society for Library and Information Science (JKSLIS) and 283 articles of the Journal of Korean Society for Information Management (JKOSIM). In results, there is no differences between JKBSLIS and the other two journals, JKSLIS and JKOSIM regards on bibliometric factors. The domain research areas in the JKBSLIS are 'Information Services', 'Library Management' and 'Reading Education'. It is also found that the most popular methods are 'survey' and 'case study' and that the main research areas in the shown intellectual structure are 'public library & reading', 'academic library & collection management', and 'school library & information literacy education'.

Comparative analyses were carried out on SCI publication results produced by scientists during their employment at the five domestic ocean-related college and six major oceanographic institutes in other countries. Assessment of research performance included bibliometric indicators : type of research categories, and, evaluation of the reliability of citation data to establish future research goals. Analysis parameters also included number of SCI publication results, cited frequency, higher ranked author group, higher ranked Journal group, higher ranked SCI category for each academic and research Institutes in oceanography. Such analyses can help improve and achieve institutional goals in the future as well as help managing and prioritizing majors scientific journals and information services.
