This essay examines the significance of Yank's struggle to belong in Eugene O'Neill's play, The Hairy Ape in light of Nietzsche's definition of man as "a rope tied between beast and overman." Contending that Yank's death in the gorilla's cage signifies both a defeat and his only chance of success, the essay investigates how his "tink[ing]" leads him to question his former understanding of what it means to belong. Knowing his struggle to belong is bound to fail, Yank uncompromisingly seeks to fit into the point of completely isolating himself from all other species in the gorilla's cage. Consequently, he becomes "the Hairy Ape" and opens up the possibility of belonging by creating and becoming the species of one to which he alone belongs. Echoing Nietzsche's vision of greatness in man, Yank's endeavor proves that what is noble "in man is that he is a bridge" rather than "a goal."

The aim of this study is to explore the principle that the joints of the limbs belong to Five Phases in Korean medicine. According to the principle of I-Ching, Ha-Do provides the logic which could attach everything to Five Phases. Ha-Do is composed of the numbers from one through ten, and in order to explain the logic of Universe formation, it furnishes the method of transforming 'immateriality' into 'materiality'. If we apply formation theory of Ha-Do to the joints of the limbs, however, it could be understood that the trunk of body develops the appendages, which means Ha-Do suggests a logic that 'materiality' generates 'materiality' in this case. Therefore, it is not the Water but the Earth that occurs first in the appendages development in this theory, and the shoulder joints belong to the Earth. Following development should occur in order of Five Phases formation of Ha-Do ; that is to say, the elbow joints belong to the Water, the wrist joints belong to the Fire, the finger joints belong to the Wood, and the ends of fingers belong to the Metal.

본 연구는 개인의 사회적 배척 경험과 소속 욕구 수준이 사회적 사건에 대한 정서 예측 및 정서 예측 오류의 크기에 미치는 영향을 검증하기 위하여 실시되었다. 참가자들은 예비 연구를 통해 구성된 8가지 종류의 사회적 사건과 비사회적 사건에 대해 각 사건이 실제로 벌어진다면 얼마나 기쁠지 혹은 괴로울지에 대해 응답하였다. 연구 1에서는 사회적 배척 경험이 많을수록 또는 소속 욕구가 높을수록 비사회적 사건에 비해 사회적 사건이 가지고 올 괴로움을 더욱 부정적으로 예측하는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 연구 2에 의하면, 사회적 배척 경험이 많거나 소속 욕구가 높다고 해서 실제로 사회적 부정적 사건을 경험했을 때 더 괴로운 것은 아니라는 것이 밝혀졌다. 본 연구의 결과는 사회적 배척 경험이 많거나 소속 욕구가 높은 개인의 사회적 사건에 대한 민감한 정서 예측이 그들이 사회적 사건으로부터 경험하는 실질적 괴로움이 더 크기 때문이 아니라 사회적 사건으로 인해 겪게 될 미래 정서를 과대 추정하기 때문이라는 것을 시사한다. 본 연구 결과의 함의와 제한점, 추후 연구에 대한 논의가 제시되었다.

Sasang Constitutional Medicine focuses on the different constitutional manifestations of the individual's nature and emotions. The nature and emotions drive the ascending and descending of Qi in the body. And this dynamics of the Qi's ascent and descent shapes the different types of structures, functions and temperaments. Although Sasang Constitutional Medicine has many advantages, its diagnosis of the constitution still depends on the doctors' own idea and has no objective identification. So many doctors in Korea have been trying to solve this problem. Recently, there are several efforts to find out the relationship between genetic information and constitution. By the way, May, 1998 there is a astonishing report about the gene which determines the human performance, that is ACE(angiotensin converting enzyme). And it suggests that the I allele was associated with improved endurance performance. ACE has three genotype including II, ID and DD. "I" means insertion and "D" means deletion. We determined the type of the Sasang constitution with QSCCII questionaire and the one's ACE genotype with PCR of the 127 people and we discovered the relationship between the constitution and the ACE genotype. The result is as follow. Among 39 people who have the II genotype, 7(18%) belong to Taeum(Taiyin), 9(23.1%) belong to Soyang(Shaoyang) and 23(59%) belong to Soeum(Shaoyin). Among 62 people who have the ID genotype, 18(29%) belong to Taeum(Taiyin), 21(33.9%) belong to Soyang(Shaoyang) and 23(37.1%) belong to Soeum(Shaoyin). Among 26 people who have DD genotype, 11(42.3%) belong to Taeum(Taiyin), 4(15.4%) belong to Soyang(Shaoyang) and 11(42.3%) belong to Soeum(Shaoyin). This data indicates that there are implicable relationship between the Sasang constitution and ACE genotype. Especially people who have II genotype have much possibility to be a Soeum(Shaoyin) person (59%) and Soyang(Shaoyang) person have less possibility to have DD genotype (15.4%). With this conclusion, we suggest further study of relationship between the Sasang constitution and ACE genotype and we think that other polymorphism can be a candidate of the partner of Sasang constitution.

The purpose of this study was to suggest urban regeneration methods for deteriorated downtown residential area, considering the development condition of urban blocks. Through the research that are based on literature, field survey, urban planning map and local experts consulting, it found out suitable sites for development such as a deteriorated residential zone or a unused site and it was deduced eight development types from analyzing the characters of developable sites. And then it is suggested various housing forms which were applied to eight development types of developable sites. The consequences of this research are summarized as follows. There are various housing forms by eight development types; block housing, low rise-high density court housing, medium low rise-high density housing, urban housing for low-income groups belong to T1-development of urban strategic position; block housing, housing on hilly site, semi-detached house, lodging house, urban housing for low-income groups, elderly housing belong to T2-development for living benefit; block housing, low rise-high density court housing, housing on hilly site, low rise housing, lodging housing, urban housing for low-income groups, elderly housing belong to T3-development of a small-scale rental housing; block housing, low rise-high density court housing, medium low rise-high density housing, terrace-house, housing on hilly site, low rise housing, block-typed detached house, semi-detached house, cluster-typed low rise housing, town house, urban housing for low-income groups belong to T4-residential environment renewal development; terrace-house, housing on hilly site, low rise housing, block housing, semi-detached house belong to T5-development of a small-scale housing; terrace-house, housing on hilly site, low rise housing, cluster-typed low rise housing belong to T6-development to adapt natural environment; block housing, low rise-high density court housing, low rise housing, block-typed detached house, town house belong to T7-development for community; block housing, low rise-high density court housing block housing, medium low rise-high density housing, terrace-house, housing on hilly site, low rise housing, elderly housing belong to T8-development of environment-friendly.

The purpose of this study is to construct the nursing-policy and nursing-theory of Korean style by understanding the type of recognition and attitude immanent in Korean people through of Korean people to the Shamanism(巫敎). And this paper is using Q methodology by operant definition. Because individual recognition and attitude to Shammanism is very subjective and individualistic and many-sided. Q statements in this paper are ultimately 38 statements divided into 5 regions, which are abstracted from 285 Q samples. 38 persons in all are objects of P-population. The results of analyses on the characters of each type are as follows. The men who belong to type I is positive to the Shamanism in recognition and attitude at the same time. The men who belong to type II are negative the analysis of the recognition and attitude to Shamanism in recognition, but positive to Shamanism in practical attitude. The men who belong to type III are evidently negative to Shamanism in recognition and attitude at the same time. The men who belong to type IV are positive to Shamanism, but negative or reservative to it in attitude. In conclusion, we could affirm that shamanic care-act which modern medicine discard as only superstition is very deeply rooted in the Korean people'need. In short, Korean people is already and always related to Shamnism, whether positively or negatively. I dare to think this paper might contribute the other disciplines of sciences as basic data.

It was described in "Somun Jogyeongron" that Eum(Yin)-Yang' deficiency, excess and exuberance. According to "Somun Jogyeongron", It was known that the syndrome of Yang deficiency and exuberance is belong to external contraction, Eum deficiency and exuberance is belong to internal damage. The syndrome of Yang deficiency is belong to Gyejitang[contraction of wind] which constitutional weakness as the main etiological factor of deficiency conditions. The syndrome of Yang exuberance is belong to Mahwangtang[cold damage] which constitutional strong as the main etiological factor of exuberance conditions. Eum deficiency is so dysfunction of the spleen and stomach that Eum fluid and essence is not engender, distributed. So the dysfunction of spleen and stomach makes dampness-heat obstruction and then makes Internal heat at last. The syndrome of Eum deficiency is applicable to bojungikgitang. As contrasted with Eum deficiency, Eum exuberance is occurred cold-dampness obstruction, which we call 'Eum exuberance'. The syndrome of Yang exuberance is applicable to Ijungtang. In the light of "Somun Jogyongron", We explain that the syndrome of Yin deficiency and Yin exuberance, which was caused by dampness-heat, cold-dampness obstruction and internal damage based on disorder of the spleen and stomach.

본 연구는 사용자들의 공유행위의도에 대한 이유를 설명하기 위해 계획된 행동이론 모델 변인(주관적 규범, 태도, 자기효능감)과 소속 욕구, 자기성장주도성의 관계를 입증하고자 하였다. 온라인 설문조사를 통해 온라인 비디오 공유 경험이 있는 959명의 참가자들을 표본으로 수집하였으며, 수집된 데이터는 구조방정식모형 검증을 통해 분석되었다. 연구 결과, 소속 욕구는 온라인 비디오 공유에 대한 태도와 주관적 규범에 영향을 미쳤으며, 자기성장주도성 역시 온라인 비디오 공유에 대한 태도와 자기효능감에 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 또한 계획된 행동이론 모델의 3가지 변인 모두 온라인 비디오 공유 의도에 영향을 미치고 있음이 확인되었으며, 온라인 비디오 공유에 대한 태도는 주관적 규범과 자기효능감에 영향을 미치고 있음이 확인되었다. 본 연구는 소속 욕구, 자기성장주도성과 함께 계획된 행동이론 모델의 구성 변인을 통해 사용자의 온라인 비디오 공유 의도에 대한 설명력을 입증하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

1. Objectives We analyze throat disease focused on Sasang constitutional medicine and find out throat disease's concept, pathology and medical treatment. 2. Methods We consider term, conceuption, symptoms, mechanism and medical treatment of throat disease in "Dongyisusebowon", "Dongyisusebowon Gabogubon", "Dongyisusebowon sasangchobongwon", "Dongyisasangshinpyun" and "Dongmuyoogo" 3. Results and conclusions 1) We find out throat disease's some concept that are refered variety in sasang constitutional medicine. 2) Throat disease's pathology are different according to sasang constitution. In Soeumin throat disease belong to taeeum syndrome and soeum syndrome, in Soyangin throat disease belong to chest heat syndrome, in Taeumin throat disease belong to dry heat syndrome, in Taeyangin throat disease belong to Yul gyuk syndrome 3) In sasang constitutional medicine, medical treatment of throat disease focus on not throat disease but human being and medical treatment of throat disease are almost internal treatment but in Soyangin and Taeumin, medical treatment of throat disease are external treatment.
