  • This paper presents the temperature-pressure characteristics of SMH actuator using a peltier module. The simple SMH actuator, consisting of the plated hydrogen-absorbing alloy as a power source, Peltier elements as a heat source and a cylinder with metal bellows a functioning part has been developed. The SMH actuator is characterized by its small size, low weight, noiseless operation and a compliance similar to that of the human body. A new special metal hydride(SMH) actuator that uses the reversible reaction between the heat energy and mechanical energy of a hydrogen absorbing ally. It is well known that hydrogen-absorbing alloys can reversibly absorb and desorb a large amount of hydrogen, more than about 1000 times as their own volume. To improve the thermal conductivity of the hydrogen-absorbing alloy, an electro-less copper plating has been carried out. The effects of the electro-less copper plating and the dynamic characteristics of the SMH actuator have been studied. The hydrogen equilibrium pressure increases and hydrogen is desorbed by heating the hydrogen-absorbing alloys, whereas by cooling the alloys, the hydrogen equilibrium pressure decreases and hydrogen is absorbed. Therefor, the SMH actuator has the characteristic of being light and easy to use and so is suitable for use in medical and rehabilitation applications.

HILS 기법을 적용한 신축관 이음 수명예측에 관한 연구 (A Study for Lifetime Predition of Expansion Joint Using HILS)

  • 본 연구에서는 플랜트 기자재 중 수충격에 매우 취약한 신축관 이음을 대상으로 수충격 발생 시 신축관 이음의 신축량의 변화를 현장에서 취득한 후 HIL 시뮬레이터의 작동데이터로 적용한 HILS 기법을 적용한 진동내구 시험을 수행하였다. 또한 진동내구 시험 시 내구수명의 주요 스트레스 인자로 신축관 내부압력을 가정하였다. 진동내구 시험은 신축관 내부 설정압 따라 진행되었으며 수명데이터를 이용, 수명데이터를 잘 따르는 곡선을 접합하여 수명예측 모델식을 유도하였고 특정 내부 설정압에서의 시험 및 수명결과를 통하여 이를 검증하였다. 한편, 시험 중 발생 된 신축관의 고장모드는 모두 벨로우즈 부 표면에 발생된 크랙과 크랙을 통한 누수 등이 있었다. 본 연구에서 유도한 수명에측 모델식은 설정압력을 스트레스 인자로 따르는 전형적인 역승모형이며 특정환경에서만 적용될 수 있는 한계를 지니고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 진동내구 수명의 가속요인인 압력 외 온도상태 등을 다양한 수명변수가 적용 가능한 복합수명예측 모델식을 개발할 예정이다.

The new special metal hydride (SMH) actuator uses the reversible reaction between the heat energy and mechanical energy of a hydrogen absorbing alloys. The desirable characteristics of SMH actuator, which makes it suitable for the uses in medical and rehabilitation applications, have been also studied. For this purpose, the characteristics of the new SMH actuator for different temperature, pressure, and external load were explored.

  • 대형선박의 충돌 혹은 좌초와 같은 많은 해양사고는 선박의 조종성능 부족으로 인하여 발생되고 있다. 따라서 IMO(국제해사기구)에서는 1994년 제18회 총회에서 결의서 A.751(18)로서 선박조종성에 대한 잠정기준을 채택하였고, 이 기준은 1994년 7월 1일 이후 건조된 길이 100m 이상의 선박 또는 길이에 관계없이 모든 케미컬탱커 및 개스운반선에 대하여 적용된다. IMO 조종성기준은 크게 설계단계에서의 선회성능과 보침성능 및 최단정지성능으로 대별된다. 이 논문에서는 몇 척의 대형선박에 대한 최초 설계단계에서의 자료를 이용하여 조종성능에 관한 계산 및 시뮬레이션을 행하고, 계산된 결과를 모형실험 결과와 비교, 검토하였으며, IMO 조종성 기준의 타당성에 관하여 검토 고찰하였다.

유기농업자재중 비의도적 오염원 조사분석 및 친환경농업인 등 인식조사에 근거한 유기농업자재 관리제도의 효율적 개선방안 (Recommendable Methods for Effective Improvement of Management System on Organic Materials based on the Analysis of Unintentional Contamination Investigation and Recognition Survey collected from Organic Farmer and so on)

  • This study was conducted to suggest ideal management system for organic materials. As the performing method of the study, surveyed results on understanding of related persons (organic farmer 846, organic materials manufacture 70 and Organic materials Auditors 7) with eco-friendly farming were used. And the opinion on unintentional pollution source contained in organic materials was surveyed additionally. The issues pointed out by organic farmers on product of organic materials were high price (60% to total), poor efficacy (16%), disorder on distribution system (13%) and containing chemicals as a pesticide (10%). And notification system for organic materials was accepted in general (positive and so so 76%) while most interviewees preferred (89%) unification of certification system dominantly. As unintentional contamination source, pollution on imported row material was indicated as major reason, and other causes were confirmed as insertion during manufacturing process, agricultural by-products using as product additive et al. Based on these surveyed results, authors suggest bellows as considerable methods for effective improvement of management system on organic material. First, establish new integrated certification system which contains standard of quality certification and notification system on organic material. Second, for evaluation of efficacy, apply relative evaluation system of significance such as Duncan's multiple test instead of existing absolute evaluation system. Third, constitute and operate selection of standard comparison subcommittee in organic Agro-materials committee in RDA.

  • Joints and terminations for 345kV Oil Filled $1C{\times}2000mm^2$ cable have been developed and tested including BPT (Bellows Pressure Tank) on the bases of various ultra-high voltage technologies. Electrical design was performed by using Finite Element Method. The type test certified by KEPCO (Korea Electric Power Corporation) has been performed as the final stage of development. In order to confirm the reliability of long-term life for 30 years, load cycle test was conducted for 30 days with good result. As the result, the techniques we obtained from this development are applicable to higher voltage level systems (i.e. 765 kV).

  • A finite element code is developed for 3-D self-contact problems, using continuum elements with a SRI(Selective Reduced Integration) scheme to prevent locking phenomenon by the incompressibility of rubber. Contact treatment is carried out in two ways : using the displacement constraints in case of rigid contact ; and imposing the same contact forces on two contact boundaries in case of self-contact. The finite element code developed is applied to the deformation analysis of C.V.joint boots which maintain lubrication conditions and protect the C.V.joint assembly from impact and dust. The boot accompanies large rotation depending on the rotation of the wheel axis and leading to the self-contact phenomena of the boot bellows. Since this contact phenomenon causes wear of the product and has great influence on the endurance life of the product, it is indispensable to carry out stress analysis of the rubber boots. In case of self-contact, various methods for determining contact forces have been suggested with an appropriate contact formulation. Especially, the types of penetration in self-contact are modularized to accelerate conputation with a contact algorithm.

7톤급 터보펌프 기계평면실의 성능 시험 연구 (Study on the Mechanical Face Seal Performance for a 7-ton-Class Turbopump)

  • This paper presents an experimental study of the leakage performance and endurance performance of a mechanical face seal in the 7-ton-class turbopump of the Korea Space Launch Vehicle 2 third-stage engine. We install a mechanical face seal between the fuel pump and turbine to prevent the mixing of the fuel and turbine gas. We design and manufacture a prototype mechanical face seal, which has two parts, namely, a bellows seal assembly and mating ring. We set up a test facility to measure the leakage and endurance of the mechanical face seal. For the similarity tests, we use water under real operating conditions such as high rotational speed, high temperature, and high pressure. Through investigation of the leakage and carbon wear rate, it is possible to evaluate the performance of the mechanical face seal. The results of the leakage and endurance performance test demonstrate the absence of any leakage from the prototype mechanical face seal after a trial run and clarify that the acceptable wear rate fully satisfies the turbopump requirements. Finally, we install a qualified mechanical face seal in a 7-ton-class turbopump and perform a validation test in the turbopump real-propellant test facility in the Korea Aerospace Research Institute. The test results confirm that the mechanical face seal works well under real operating conditions.

액체로켓 LOX 공급계의 저압 배관시스템 개발 (Development of the Low Pressure Piping System for the Liquid Rocket LOX Feed System)

  • 본 논문은 터보펌프를 사용하는 액체로켓의 저압 LOX 공급계의 개발 프로세스를 제공한다. 대한항공은 한국항공우주연구원과 협력하여 터보펌프 공급을 위한 LOX 공급계 개발을 수행하였다. LOX 공급계는 극저온의 온도와 무게절감을 위한 얇은 배관두께가 특징이다. 본 프로젝트의 시스템은 주 배관과 LOX 온도 제어를 위한 재순환 배관으로 구성되어 있다. 각 배관시스템은 벨로우즈, 필터, 오리피스, 밸브류, 플랜지와 서포트로 구성되어 있다. 이 논문에서는 시스템 설계 및 제작, 구조 및 열 해석, 단품 시험에 대하여 설명하였다. 최종적으로, 이 시스템은 한국항공우주연구원의 PTF 시험설비에 조립되어 요구 성능을 달성하였다.

융·복합 시대의 ISO 9001 품질경영시스템이 경영성과에 미치는 영향에 관한 실증적 연구 (A Empirical Study on the influence of ISO 9001 QMS to Management Performance)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 융 복합 시대에 자동차 전장부품인 자동차 고무 자바라를 생산하는 중소제조업체의 기업 경쟁력을 확보하기 위한 경영혁신에 대한 새로운 경영기법인 ISO9001품질경영시스템 요구사항 관점에서 고무자바라제품 생산기업의 경영성과를 분석하는데 있다. 이를 위해서, 자동차 부품 생산업체중, 고무 자바라 제품을 생산하는 업체를 대상으로 방문조사를 실시하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 중소자동차 고무 자비라 부품업체에서 ISO 9001 품질경영 시스템의 4가지 핵심 요구사항 중, 경영자 책임과 자원관리가 경영성과에 긍정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 직급별로 차이를 조사한 결과, 상위 직급 집단은 경영자 책임이, 하위 직급 집단은 ISO 9001에 따른 품질경영에 대한 인식도가 저조한 것으로 나타났다. 이는 중소 자동차 전장부품인 자동차 고무 자바라 생산에 대한 개선 방향 컨설팅 지칭과 생산성 향상 전략 방안을 수립하는데 기여하게 될 것이다.
