The current study extended the understandings of the construct of brand commitment by adopting a broadened five-component consumer commitment. The results confirmed that developing brand experience in domestic mass cosmetics brand stores influences consumer loyalty through various types of brand commitment. This study can be beneficial for brand managers by providing guidelines on how to establish consumer loyalty affected by brand experience through brand commitment. Especially, brand managers should consider the negative impacts of forced commitment on consumer loyalty despite brand experience within the stores not influencing teenage consumers' forced commitment toward mass cosmetic brands. The importance of habitual commitment in the relationship between brand experience and loyalty was also revealed. The results can provide a realistic blueprint for consumer brand experience and commitment strategy.

  • This study investigates perceived social presence, perceived interactivity, perceived enjoyment, and perceived trust as antecedents of consumer engagement. We measured the attitudinal and behavioral brand loyalty as consequences of consumer engagement in social media. Our findings suggest that perceptions of social presence, enjoyment, and trust are significantly related to consumer engagement. Conversely, perceived interactivity has no positive influence on consumer engagement. In addition, consumer engagement is found to have a significant impact on both attitudinal and behavioral brand loyalty. The study revealed that, in the modified model, covariance paths among the proposed antecedents of consumer engagement (namely the perceived social presence, interactivity, enjoyment, and trust) are statistically significant. In this paper, we also discuss limitations of the study and future research.

  • This study aimed to classify attendants of a wine training institute according to loyalty for wine training service program and to deduce the core managing points in a wine training program by IPA (Importance-Performance Analysis). Self-administered questionnaires were collected from 192 trainees and statistical data analysis completed using SPSS ver. 18.0. As a result of clustering analysis based on trainee loyalty from both attitude and behavioral perspectives, four classification groups were identified: a "genuine" loyalty group, a "latent" loyalty group, a "mendacious" loyalty group, and a "low" loyalty group. For the genuine loyalty group, the importance of total service quality was 4.32 on average whereas the performance was measured as 4.22; thus there was little difference between importance to quality and performance. However, for the other three groups, especially the low loyalty group, there were significant wide gaps between importance to quality and performance. According to IPA, different service quality items were posted on the 'Focus here' quadrant (a domain with high service quality importance but low performance) by group, while the other three quadrants had several common items regardless of the group. Finally, the core quality managing points were different depending on the level of trainee loyalty. Therefore, it is necessary to plan and conduct a wine training program that reflects the characteristics and needs of its students, which will lead to a differentiated management strategy according to the level of loyalty.

  • This study shows the importance of human factors in relationship marketing by revealing the influence of Hanbok salesperson's attributes on relationship quality and long-term relationship orientation at the time when a culture is newly understood. A questionnaire surveyed 376 women living around the Seoul and Daejeon Metropolitan areas from February to March 2013. SPSS WIN 20.0 and AMOS 20.0 programs analyzed the gathered data. We review the influence of Hanbok salesperson's attributes (expertise, ethics, communication skill, customer orientation, similarity, and likeability) on relationship quality and behavioral intention. The research indicates that only customer orientation and Hanbok salesperson's expertise attributes influence relationship quality. All the attributes had a positive influence; in addition, the relationship quality had a significant influence on customer loyalty. However, communication skill, similarity, and likeability did not influence relationship quality. Customer orientation, which provides a customized service based on the recognition of individual customer trends and expertise in developing a relationship with customers, are important factors to form relationship quality and loyalty.

  • Customer Loyalty is very important for a company to be survived and to make profit for a long time. Especially, since the credit card company has to manage proper card members and merchants, the CRM(Customer Relationship Management) is much emphasized. A loyalty score is more essential to credit card companies which provide differential financial services based on card members and merchants than any other companies. In this paper, we discuss behavioral measures to define customer loyalty and suggest a method to make loyalty score with an example of a credit card company. The loyalty score developed is considered easy to understand and simple to apply in card industry. In the development of loyalty score, first, we define the loyal customers and non-loyal customers by measuring variables indicating loyalty. And we perform individual logistic regression by each exploratory measuring variable and obtain the weight of measure variables using Chi-square statistics which is used for model fitness. The loyalty score suggested shows very stable results in terms of PSI (Population Stability Index) as time goes.

  • Studies on brand loyalty have been classified into two approaches; the behavioral approach and the attitudinal approach. The main topics of both approaches have been customers' loyal or nonloyal attitude toward brands and the rate of repurchase generating process. However, previous research has overlooked dynamic and in-depth aspects of brand loyalty. With a qualitative research perspective, the present study adds insight to the current research on brand loyalty, concerning the disregarded aspects of brand, based on phenomenological interviews. On the foundation of consumer-brand relationship types suggested by Fournier(1998), this study examines various kinds of relationship types between Korean consumers and their preferred beer brands. Findings show different aspects and dynamic essence of brand loyalty through the analysis of these relationships. Moreover, a variety of sources of brand loyalty were identified. It was concluded that "actual" brand loyalty and "apparent" brand loyalty may not coincide at all times. In addition, consumers' life events and life themes were identified as important determinants of brand loyalty.

  • This study attempts to investigate effects of service conveniences on perceived value and customer voluntary behavioral intention in family restaurants. We categorized service conveniences in five dimensions (i.e, decision, access, transaction, benefit, and post-benefit). We considered perceived value as having three parts, namely functional, emotional, and social. We also specified three segments of customer voluntary behavioral intention as participation, cooperation, and loyalty. The results showed that service conveniences such as transaction convenience, post-benefit convenience, and benefit convenience have an influence on functional value as a perceived value, but no effect from decision convenience and acceptability[this is a new variable to me]. In addition, access and benefit conveniences affect social value. When it comes to the effects of perceived value on customer voluntary behavioral intention, social value was found to affect participation and loyalty, while functional value appeared to influence cooperation.
