Natural boron consists of two stable isotopes 10B and 11B with natural abundance of 18.8 atom percent of 10B and 81.2 atom percent of 11B. The thermal neutron absorption cross-section for 10B and 11B are 3837 barn and 0.005 barn respectively. 10B enriched specific compounds are used for control rods and as a reactor coolant additives. In this work 2 methods for boron enrichment were analysed: 1) Gas irradiation in static conditions. Dissociation occurs due to multiphoton absorption by specific isotopes in appropriately tuned laser field. IR shifted laser pulses are usually used in combination with increasing the laser intensity also improves selectivity up to some degree. In order to prevent recombination of dissociated molecules BCl3 is mixed with H2S 2) SILARC method. Advantages of this method: a) Gas cooling is helpful to split and shrink boron isotopes absorption bands. In order to achieve better selectivity BCl3 gas has to be substantially rarefied (~0.01%-5%) in mixture with carrier gas. b) Laser intensity is lower than in the first method. Some preliminary calculations of dissociation and recombination with carrier gas molecules energetics for both methods will be demonstrated Boron separation in SILARC method can be represented as multistage process: 1) Mixture of BCl3 with carrier gas is putted in reservoir 2) Gas overcooling due to expansion through Laval nozzle 3) IR multiphoton absorption by gas irradiated by specifically tuned laser field with subsequent gradual gas condensation in outlet chamber It is planned to develop software which includes these stages. This software will rely on the following available software based on quantum molecular dynamics in external quantized field: 1) WavePacket: Each particle is treated semiclassicaly based on Wigner transform method 2) Turbomole: It is based on local density methods like density of functional methods (DFT) and its improvement- coupled clusters approach (CC) to take into account quantum correlation. These models will be used to extract information concerning kinetic coefficients, and their dependence on applied external field. Information on radiative corrections to equation of state induced by laser field which take into account possible phase transition (or crossover?) can be also revealed. This mixed phase equation of state with quantum corrections will be further used in hydrodynamical simulations. Moreover results of these hydrodynamical simulations can be compared with results of CFD calculations. The first reasonable question to ask before starting the CFD simulations is whether turbulent effects are significant or not, and how to model turbulence? The questions of laser beam parameters and outlet chamber geometry which are most optimal to make all gas volume irradiated is also discussed. Relationship between enrichment factor and stagnation pressure and temperature based on experimental data is also reported.

In this study, the newly constructed optical measurement system, which was mainly composed of a parametric tunable laser and a near infrared photoelectric multiplier, was introduced to clarify the optical characteristics of wood as discontinuous body with anisotropic cellular structure from the viewpoint of the time-of-flight near infrared spectroscopy (TOF-NIRS). The combined effects of the cellular structure of wood sample, the wavelength of the laser beam λ, and the detection position of transmitted light on the time resolved profiles were investigated in detail. The variation of the attenuance of peak maxima At, the time delay of peak maxima Δt and the variation of full width at half maximum Δw were strongly dependent on the feature of cellular structure of a sample and the wavelength of the laser beam. The substantial optical path length became about 30 to 35 times as long as sample thickness except the absorption band of water. Δt ${\times}$ Δw representing the light scattering condition increased exponentially with the sample thickness or the distance between the irradiation point and the end of sample. Around the λ=900-950 nm, there may be considerable light scattering in the lumen of tracheid, which is multiple specular reflection and easy to propagate along the length of wood fiber. Such tendency was remarkable for soft wood with the aggregate of thin layers of cell walls. When we apply TOF-NIRS to the cellular structural materials like wood, it is very important to give attention to the difference in the light scattering within cell wall and the multiple specular-like reflections between cell walls. We tried to express the characteristics of the time resolved profile on the basis of the optical parameters for light propagation determined by the previous studies, which were absorption coefficient K and scattering coefficient S from Kubelka-Munk theory and n from nth power cosine model of radiant intensity. The wavelength dependency of the product of K/S and n, which expressed the light-absorbing and -scattering condition and the degree of anisotropy, respectively, was similar to that of the time delay of peak maxima Δt. The variation of the time resolved profile is governed by the combination of these parameters. So, we can easily find the set of parameters for light propagation synthetically from Δt.

Based on the assumption that film density increases exponentially with exposure in the industrial radiographic film. an equation representing the characteristic curves of industrial radiographic films and a new density-thickness relation are suggested. The accuracy and reliability of the suggested relation has been tested using radiographs of a carbon steel step wedge with known thickness variation by polychromatic X-ray and ${\gamma}$-ray ($Ir^{192}$). The experimental results were well agreed to the proposed relation in the range of film densities from 1.0 to 3.5 and it was more accurate than the conventional relation. It is also found that ${\gamma}$-ray is more effective in this purpose than polychromatic X-ray, which results in variation of effective linear absorption coefficient due to beam hardening effect as thickness increases. Therefore using the equation and experimentally determined parameters the quantitative evaluation of thickness variation is possible and it can be used to evaluate the depth of local corrosion of pressure vessels in plants.

This study was performed to verify the structural reinforcing effect of recycled polyethylene terephthalate (PET) fiber. In order to verify the structural reinforcing capacity of RPET fiber, recycled PET fiber added RC slab specimens were prepared to examine the flexural capacity while those of plain concrete and those of added with PP fiber, and the behavior of the specimens were also evaluated. The result shows that the compressive strength reduces as the fiber volume fraction increases, and the rate of reduction varies from 2% to 7%. The result of the flexural capacity shows that the ultimate capacity of plain specimens is the highest compare to those fiber reinforced specimens, but it has shown that specimens reinforced by 5% PET fiber has the highest energy absorption and the ductility index. In the application of PET fiber in slab specimens has shown that ductility capacity have increased where the ultimate capacity decreasing. That is the different tendency of beam specimens, which the ultimate capacity and the ductility of those have both shown the improvement compare to plain concrete specimens, which means the reinforcing effect of PET fiber in slab is less strong than in beam. Therefore, the application of PET fiber in slab structures as reinforcement needs the proper mix proportion of concrete and volume fraction of PET fiber with deep consideration of the structures.

Wireless Power Transfer(WPT) of array antenna applied to beam-forming techniques enables highly efficient WPT when transmitters and receivers are not contacting and even when they are separated. However, this WPT method is possible to use only when human safety restriction by distance between the transmitters and the receivers is satisfied. In the paper, a $4{\times}8$ array antenna for 2.4 GHz is modeled by simulation, then electric field intensity and 10 gram average head SAR(Specific Absorption Rate) by distance away from the array antenna inputted 1 W of 2.4 GHz sinusoidal wave at each single antenna of the array antenna for 2.4 GHz were obtained. And they were compared with human safety restriction of draft of 2018 ICNIRP(International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection) guidelines. As the result, power density of far field derived from the electric field intensity was $33.257W/m^2$, which satisfied with occupational human safety restriction but exceeded public's. In addition, the 10 gram average head SAR exceeded the human safety restriction.
This simulation study examined the effect of data acquisition error including the data type of TEM image, and incident beam intensity of the tilt series on 3D tomograms. Simulation was performed with the 3D head phantom model of Kak and Slaney, and the slightly modified 3D head phantom model with enhanced difference in absorption coefficients. Reconstructed tomogram for the original head phantom model using 8-bit gray-scale image was distorted with extremely high level of noise, while an acceptable result was obtained for the modified model. The results for the original model using wrong formulation for the transmitted beam intensity was proved to be incorrect. The high level of noise along the z direction was found in case of the modified model. On the other hand, the wrong value of incident beam intensity in both models gave distorted results. In order to reconstruct an artifacts-free 3D structure from the projections with invisible features in electron tomography, the 16-bit projection images should be used with the correct incident beam intensity which is applied to Beer's law.

This study intends to investigate the response of multi-cell (MC) beams to flexural loads in which the primary reinforcement is composed of both metallic and non-metallic materials. "Multi-cell" describes beam sections with multiple longitudinal voids separated by thin webs. Seven reinforced concrete MC beams measuring 300×200×1800 mm were tested under flexural loadings until failure. Two series of beams are formed, depending on the type of main reinforcement that is being used. A control RC beam with no openings and six MC beams are found in these two series. Series one and two are reinforced with metallic and non-metallic main reinforcement, respectively, in order to maintain a constant reinforcement ratio. The first crack, ultimate load, deflection, ductility index, energy absorption, strain characteristics, crack pattern, and failure mode were among the structural parameters of the beams under investigation that were documented. The primary variables that vary are the kind of reinforcing materials that are utilized, as well as the kind and quantity of mesh layers. The outcomes of this study that looked at the experimental and numerical performance of ferrocement reinforced concrete MC beams are presented in this article. Nonlinear finite element analysis (NLFEA) was performed with ANSYS-16.0 software to demonstrate the behavior of composite MC beams with holes. A parametric study is also carried out to investigate the factors, such as opening size, that can most strongly affect the mechanical behavior of the suggested model. The experimental and numerical results obtained demonstrate that the FE simulations generated an acceptable degree of experimental value estimation. It's also important to demonstrate that, when compared to the control beam, the MC beam reinforced with geogrid mesh (MCGB) decreases its strength capacity by a maximum of 73.33%. In contrast, the minimum strength reduction value of 16.71% is observed in the MC beams reinforced with carbon reinforcing bars (MCCR). The findings of the experiments on MC beams with openings demonstrate that the presence of openings has a significant impact on the behavior of the beams, as there is a decrease in both the ultimate load and maximum deflection.

Silicon nitride film was deposited on a silicon wafer using a laser CVD(LCVD) technique, which is based on direct photolysis of $SiH_4/NH_3$ gas mixture by ArF laser beam(${\lambda}=193\;nm$). The refractive index of deposited SiN film is 1.9 at the temperature of $300^{\circ}C$, pressure of 5 torr. The breakdown field strength of LCVD SiN film was 10MV/cm. In IR spectrum, the absorption peak of Si-H, N-H, and Si-N is detected and it is shown that hydrogen is included in SiN film. From analysis of absorption band. it is calculated that density of Si-H, N-H bond is higher than $5{\times}10^{22}cm^{-3}$. LCVD MIS capacitor and PECVD MIS capacitor have injection-type hysteresis but it is known that hysteresis loss of LCVD MIS capacitor is smaller than that of PECVD MIS capacitor. It means that Interface state density of LCVD capacitor is smaller than that of PECVD capacitor. In addition, the flatband voltage($V_{FB}$) of LCVD is smaller than that of PECVD capacitor. And it means that fixed charged density($Q_{FIX}$) of LCVD capacitor is smaller than that of PECVD MIS capacitor.

In the present study, the low speed (4 km/h) crash behaviour of an aluminium bumper system was characterised by FE analyses based on the FMVSS 581, which regulates automotive bumpers. Two types of cross-sectional designs, i.e., Model 1, which contains a single rib and Model 2, double ribs, have been considered along with Al7021, 6082 and 6060 for the aluminium bumper back beam. Variations in thickness starting from 2 to 4 mm of the bumper system cross-section in the FE model was implemented in order to investigate the thickness effect on the bumper's crash behaviour.. Three kinds of design variables, namely, number of ribs, material and thickness, are considered. The FE analysis results are summarised with the maximum load and the Specific Energy Absorption (SEA) since they are the key factors in determining the crashworthiness of automotive structures. The results may also be able to indicate how to achieve lightweight structure of the automotive bumper system either directly or indirectly.

Consistent efforts have been made to reduce the weight of automotive parts by using lightweight materials. This has resulted in the replacement of conventional steels in car body structures with high-strength steels, and the current usage rate has reached 50%. This study examines the structural stiffness and energy absorption capability of bumper beams made of high-strength steels. New types of bumper beam cross sections are proposed. The structural stiffness and maximum bending force were computed via finite element analysis as about 25tons and 7.5tons/mm, and there were no significant differences among the proposedcross sections. Dynamic analysis was also carried out to investigate the energy absorption capabilities of the bumper beams, and the effects of materials and thickness reduction were analyzed. High-strength steel can be used to achieve weight reduction with comparable structural performance to conventional bumper beams.
