회분식 공정과 회분식 증류공정을 복합한 순차적 다목적 공정의 최적 운용전략 및 생산일정계획 (Optimal Operation Strategy and Production Planning of Sequential Multi-purpose Batch Plants with Batch Distillation Process)

  • Manufacturing technology for the production of high value-added fine chemical products is emphasized and getting more attention as the diversified interests of customers and the demand of high quality products are getting bigger and bigger everyday. Thus, the development of advanced batch processes, which is the preferred and most appropriate way of producing these types of products, and the related technologies are becoming more important. Therefore, high-precision batch distillation is one of the important elements in the successful manufacturing of fine chemicals, and the importance of the process operation strategy with quality assurance cannot be overemphasized. Accordingly, proposing a process structure explanation and operation strategy of such processes including batch processes and batch distillation would be of great value. We investigate optimal operation strategy and production planning of multi-purpose plants consisting of batch processes and batch distillation for the manufacturing of fine chemical products. For the short-term scheduling of a sequential multi-purpose batch plant consisting of batch distillation under MPC and UIS policy, we proposed a MILP model based on a priori time slot allocation. Also, we consider that the waste product of being produced on batch distillation is recycled to the batch distillation unit for the saving of raw materials. The developed methodology will be especially useful for the design and optimal operations of multi-purpose and multiproduct plants that is suitable for fine chemical production.

회분식 증류공정의 환류비 최적에 관한 연구 (A Study on Optimal Reflux Ratio for Batch Distillation)

  • We develope a model that can manipulate the reflux ratio of a batch distillation process in real time for optimal operations. Firstly, reflux ratio decision model for batch distillation unit was developed using the simple short-cut method. Secondly, more detailed rigorous method was applied to improve the accuracy of the model. Based on these models, operational strategies for the optimal reflux ratio was proposed. The results are illustrated with suitable examples and compared with the results using commercial simulator.

  • Fine chemical production must assure high-standard product quality as well as characterized as multi-product production in small volumes. Installing high-precision batch distillation is one of the common elements in the successful manufacturing of fine chemicals, and the importance of the process operation strategy with quality assurance cannot be overemphasized. In this study, we investigate the optimal operation strategy and production planning of a sequential multi-purpose plants consisting of batch processes and batch distillation with unlimited intermediate storage. We formulated this problem as an MILP model. A mixed-integer linear programming model is developed based on the time slot, which is used to determine the production sequence and the production path of each batch. Illustrative examples show the effectiveness of the approach.

  • 부틸 아세테이트는 반응증류탑에서 초산과 부탄올의 에스테르 교환반응에 의해 제조된다. 공비첨가제는 반응영역에서 생성물인 물을 보다 효과적으로 분리할 수 있도록 하여, 반응증류탑의 성능을 향상시킨다. 중소 공장에서 회분식 공정은 연속공정에 비해 보다 유연하게 사용할 수 있다는 점에서 유리하다. 본 연구에서는 부틸아세테이트 합성을 위한 회분식 반응증류 공정과 반회분식 반응증류 공정에 대하여 공정 모사 및 실험을 통하여 연구하였다. 공정 성능 향상을 위하여 공비첨가제 종류, 공정구조에 대하여 조사하였다. 또한 반회분식 반응 증류탑을 연속 운전하여 새로운 순환 운전 방법을 제시하였으며, 이 조업 전략을 사용하여 높은 생산성과 안정한 조업이 가능함을 보였다.

  • 본 논문에서 회분식 반응 증류에 의한 lactic acid의 분리 특성을 연구하였다. 휘발성이 있는 lactate ester의 생성을 위한 lactic acid와 alcholo과의 반응에서, 반응에 의해 생성된 lactate ester의 휘발성이 높을 수록 증류탑으로 들어가는 lactate ester양은 증가하여 재비기에서 얻어진 lactic acid의 회수율은 증가 하였다. 부분응축기의 온도가 감소할수록 재비기로 모이는 lactate ester양은 증가하였고 재비기 내의 수화 반응에 의해 얻어지는 lactic acid의 양은 증가하였다 Lactic acid의 정제를 위한 lactate ester와 물과의 수화 반응은, 비록 증류탑 내에서 lactate ester와 물이 반응을 할 수 있으나, 증류탑 내에서의 체류시간이 짧기 때문에 대부분 재비기에서 이루어진다.

  • A new control scheme s proposed for the control of reactive batch distillation (RBD) column. A nonlinear wave model captures the essential dynamic behavior of the RBD process. The proposed control scheme is based on both Generic Model Control(GNC) and nonlinear wave model. The control scheme uses a profile position of the column as a controlled variable. Ethanol esterification process using RBD is chosen as an example process. Tight control of the distillate purity is obtained with the use of the proposed control scheme.

  • 대한민국 전통 증류기인 소줏고리를 현대화 하는 연구도 진행되고 있는데, 세라믹 재질에서 오는 열소비 특성과 다공성 흡착능 등의 성질을 이용해 고품질 증류식소주 제조가 가능한 현대화된 한국형 증류기 개발이 목표이다. 이를 위해 한국식품연구원과 한국세라믹기술원의 기술융합 연구가 진행되고 있다. 증류기의 기술개발과 함께 다양한 방법으로 증류주를 생산할 수 있게 됨에 따라 우리나라 소주도 각양각색의 제품 생산이 가능해졌다. 원료의 풍미가 그대로 살아 있는 소주, 특정 향미를 강화시킨 소주, 주질에 악영향을 주는 성분을 제거한 소주 등 소비 기호에 따라 맞춤형 소주도 가능해 질 것으로 기대한다.

  • Lactic acid is of interest as the raw materials of polyactide that is a biodegradable polymer. For an effective purification of acid, batch distillation with the simultaneous reactions was used. Two Oldershow colums and reboilers were usde for fractionation of methanol and reactions. Two Oldershaw columns and reboilers were used for fractionation of methanol and reactions. Esterification reaction of lactic with methanol produced methyllactate and water. The productes of the esterification reaction, methl lactate and water were transported to the reboiler of the reproysis part. In hydroduced in the hydrolysis part and nureacter method lactic acid and methanol. Methanol produced in the hydroysis part and unreacted method lactic acid and methanol in the esterification part were separated by distillation and recycled to the revoiler of the esterification part so that the esterification reaction would be stimulated. Thus, pure lactic acid solution remained in the reboiler of the hydroysis part. The effect of the number of stages in column on the recovery yield was also inverstigated. In the operation with colums improved the fractionation of componets and stimulated the reactions in two parts.

  • Three different reflux policies are compared for a batch distillation process in which a fixed recovery with a given average purity of the distillate is required ; the first, for the constant distillate purity ; the second, for the constant reflux ratio ; finally, for the optimal reflux policy which gives the minimum operation time. The optimal reflux policy was obtained using pontryagin's maximum principle. Througy the numerical simulations for the three different binary mixtures, it was found that the time advantage of the optimal reflux operation over the constant overhead composition operation varies form 10.0 to 22.4% and the advantage over the constant reflux operation varies from 1106 to 36.6% in the three cases considered.
