Development of Die Design System for Die Casting (다이캐스팅 금형 설계 시스템 개발)

  • Die Casting is one of the forming methods to manufacture large number of products with short period time and clean surface by high forming pressure and temperature of cast alloy. Die design is composed of selection of cast alloy, design of die casting product, runner and gate design etc. In reality, however, die design of die casting has been performed by trial and error method, which cause economic and time loss. This paper describes a research work of developing computer-aided design of die casting product and die design. Approach to the CAD system has been written in AutoLISP on the AutoCAD with personal computer. In this study, die design system for gate of die casting process has been developed to present algorithm for automation of die design, especially runner-gate system. As forming process and die design system using 3-D geometry handling are integrated with technology of process planning, die design is possible to set. In addition, specific rules and equations for the runner-gate system have been presented to avoid too many trails and errors with expensive equipment. It is possible for engineers to make automatic and efficient die design of die casting and it will result in reduction of expense and time to be required. An example is applied to cap-shaped casting using proposed algorithm.

  • One of the most innovative paradigms for the next-generation of wireless cellular networks is the cloud-radio access networks (C-RANs). In C-RANs, base station functions are distributed between the remote radio heads (RHHs) and base band unit (BBU) pool, and a communication link is defined between them which is referred as the fronthaul. This leveraging link is expected to reduce the CAPEX (capital expenditure) and OPEX (operating expense) of envisioned cellular architectures as well as improves the spectral and energy efficiencies, provides the high scalability, and efficient mobility management capabilities. The fronthaul link carries the baseband signals between the RRHs and BBU pool using the digital radio over fiber (RoF) based common public radio interface (CPRI). CPRI based optical links imposed stringent synchronization, latency and throughput requirements on the fronthaul. As a result, fronthaul becomes a hinder in commercial deployments of C-RANs and is seen as one of a major bottleneck for backbone networks. The optimization of fronthaul is still a challenging issue and requires further exploration at industrial and academic levels. This paper comprehensively summarized the current challenges and requirements of fronthaul networks, and discusses the recently proposed system architectures, virtualization techniques, key transport technologies and compression schemes to carry the time-sensitive traffic in fronthaul networks.

  • SOA sorts function of old applications by function unit that have business meaning, and through standard call interface, do orchestration by component unit of service. System that developed in this paper predicts production point of time when order with frugality of production raw material.   • Die design of die casting is composed of selection of cast alloy, design of die casting product, runner design and gate design, etc. In reality, however, die design of die casting has been performed by trial and error method, which cause economic and financial loss. Nowadays, several FEM(finite element method) and FDM(finite difference method) codes have been developed to analyze process of die casting, but this is just confined to an offer of limited information for die design of die casting. In this study, die design system for gate of die casting process has been developed to present algorithm for automation of die design, especially runner-gate system. In addition, specific rules for runner-gate system have been presented to avoid too many trials and errors with expensive equipment. It is possible for engineers to make automatic and efficient die design of die casting and it will result in reduction of expense and time to be required.

  • This study is intended to develop a technology cost model (TCM) which treats technology costs appropriately under present advanced manufacturing technology environment. TCM is composed of two elements : cost classification system and cost allocation model. It is proposed to include technology-related department expenses as well as technology investment in the categories of technology costs. For the cost allocation, technology activities are divided into four homogeneous groups. Costs are accumulated into one of the four cost pools and allocated to the cost object using the pool's unique allocation base. It is also proposed to use the capital recovery costs including interest expense rather than the depreciation costs for an invested capital. A case study is performed to verify the applicability of the developed model.

  • An important factor of vibration test using MAST(multi axial simulation table) system is the reliance of input excitation source. Generally the generation of input excitation source is obtained by the measured data on special road in proving ground. The measured data on special road have more exciting energy than the data of real fields, therefore the time and expense for test can be reduced. But the magnitude of input excitation source must be defined by comparison with the excited energy on real field. The object of this paper makes the data base of domestic roads for the definition of input excitation source which is obtained by the measured data on special road in proving ground. These real field data on domestic roads are analyzed by the power spectral density and interrelationship index.

  • Mobile service that geography, position by development of space Information Technology and technology of communications, space are various to us now becoming limelight as point contents and infra information that customers do demand based on radio superhigh speed authentication net on highly information society by offer infringement problem about individual's privacy or information by political and scientific interest be injured. Purpose of this study grasps use factor of LBS application Mobile service, and it is that analyze actual proof through questionnaire to grasp whether some relation is with value and action determination that is felt of LBS application Mobile service. Distributed all question of 190 copies but disk floret inclination did valid data 171 that clear question and omission remove a lot of questions by type of study among questionnaire of collected 182 wealths. Analyzed factor analysis and authoritativeness to search validity and confidence of questionnaire and used single regression analysis and multiple regression analysis for hypothetical verification. According to verification result, Mobile service that apply position base service usefulness and system quality, adaptedness of Mobile service that apply position base service by leading person affecting in use, acted for connection healthy and felt value is important factor immediately. Usability and social effect, felt expense, privacy did not appear by leading person that keep in mind in this study. Is been related with step that Mobile service that apply position base service is placed. That is, as present childhood, a person who have experience that use service to look for friend is few and usability fairly in last in wide application boundary and this very important person was removed finally in model. This study has sense in terms of study systematically about LBS application service use leading person that is getting into the spotlight worldwide among Mobile service that is injured newly.

The Research of the Modularity of Federation Object Model to Improve Interoperability of RTI-based Simulations (RTI기반 시뮬레이션의 상호운용성 향상을 위한 연동모델의 모듈화 방안에 대한 연구)

  • Recently, software industry regarding national defense increases system development of distributed simulation system of M&S based to overcome limit of resource and expense. It is one of key technologies for offering of mutual validation among objects and reuse of objects which are discussed for developing these systems. RTI, implementation of HLA interface specification as software providing these technologies uses Federation Object Model for exchanging information with joined federates in the federation and each federate has a characteristic that is supposed to have identical FOM in the federation. This paper presents a characteristic of Base Object Model, SISO standardization for improving reuse and interoperability of Federation Object Model applied simulation network manager based HLA/RTI and suggests method of designing the structure of simulation network manager through the modularity of Federation Object Model.

Cable-pulley brace to improve story drift distribution of MRFs with large openings

  • This study aims to introduce a new bracing system by which even super-wide frames with large openings can be braced. The proposed system, hereafter called Cable-Pulley Brace (CPB), is a tension-only bracing system with a rectilinear configuration. In CPB, a wire rope passes through a rectilinear path around the opening(s) and connects the lower corner of the frame to its opposite upper one. CPB is a secondary load resisting system with a nonlinear-elastic hysteretic behavior due to its initial pre-tension load. As a result, the required energy dissipation would be provided by the MRF itself, and the main intention of using CPB is to contribute to the initial and post-yield stiffness of the whole system. Using a stiffness calibration technique, optimum placement of the CPBs is discussed to yield a uniform displacement demand along the height of the structure. A displacement-based design procedure is proposed by which the MRF with CPB can be designed to achieve a uniform distribution of inter-story drifts with predefined values. Obtained results indicated that CPB leads to significant reductions in maximum and residual deformations of the MRF at the expense of minor increase in the maximum base shear and developed axial force demands in the columns. In the case of a typical 5-story residential building, compared to SMRF system, CPB system reduces maximum amounts of inter-story and residual drifts by 35% and 70%, respectively. Moreover, openings of the frame are not interrupted by the CPB. This is the most appealing feature of the proposed bracing system from architectural point of view.
