A Gray Image to Pseudocoloring Conversion and Enhancement Using FWT and CIT (FWT-CIT를 적용한 그레이 영상의 의사컬러 변환 및 향상)

  • The color conversion and color enhancement on gray image is presented in this paper. The pseudocoloring for RCB color components extraction from gray image is used the 2D U(Fast Wavelet Transform) for fille. bank and re-array. The each post processing is used the median filtering for noise reduction and the discrete color histogram equalization for CIT(Color Intensity Transformation). The experiment result has enhanced pseudocoloring image as PSNR 30dB over compared the processing of normal wavelet transform.

  • There have been reports that the "jeongcho (定礎)" letters of the foundation stone at the historical site No. 280 of the "Main Building of the Bank of Korea in Seoul" were written by Prince Ito Hirobumi (伊藤博文), the first Resident-General of Japan in Korea. An on-site investigation by an advisory group consisting of three experts in calligraphy; revealed that the two characters of '定礎' inscribed on the foundation stone are the characteristics of Ito Hirobumi's handwriting, judging from the writing style and habits observed in the collections of the Central Library of Hamamatsu City, Japan. It was reported that his writing was confirmed by the experts, but no basis was provided. To provide more objective and quantitative supporting data, rather than qualitative judgment based on feeling, it is necessary to present the basis for judgment through quantitative image comparison results through image analysis. In this paper, using image analysis software, Ito Hirobumi's calligraphy writing and the inscribed characters of the foundation stone were compared and analyzed to confirm the contents of the press release. The character comparison process and character area measurement results are a good example showing that if objective judgment basis data are needed in a similar situation, an objective judgment basis can be prepared through quantification using image analysis.

  • A microprogrammable Bit Slice Sinal Processor for image processing is implemented. Processing speed is increased by the parallelism in horizontal microprogram using 120bits microcode, pipelined architecture, 2 bank memory switching that interfaces with the Host through DMA, a variable clock control, overflow checking H/W,look-up table method and cache memory. With this processor, a DCT algorithm which uses 2-D FFT is performed. The execution time for $512{\times}512{\times}8$ image is 12 sec when 16 bit operation is runned, and the recovered image has acceptable quality with MSE 0.276%.

  • A novel imaging method in which time-division spinning reticle samples different pixel location of input image in different time is presented. The lens collects the beam passing throughthe reticle to a photodetector. Image reconstruction is accomplished by sampling the detector output corresponding to the spinning speed of reticle. Since the time-division reticle system removed the necessity of bandpass filter bank which has sharp cut-off characteristic, high resolution image is obtained without increasing the number of filter. To confirm the validity of this method, a computer simulation and an optical experiment using visual light are presented.

  • In this paper, we propose the lossless image compression algorithm using the integer wavelet transform. Recently, the S+P transform is widely used and computed with only integer addition and bit-shift operations, but not proper to remove the correlation of smooth images. then we compare the Harr wavelet of the S+P transform with various integer coefficient filter banks and apply 9/7 ICFB to the wavelet transform. In addition, we propose a entropy-coding method that exploits the multiresolution structure and the feedback of the prediction error, and can efficiently compress the transformed image for progressive transmission. Simulation results are compared to the compression ratio using the S+P transform with different types of images.

  • The purpose of the study is to develop a synthetic method for generating arbitrary number of not the same but similar texture images. The method includes processes to extract basic shape elements from texture images originating in actual objects, to select them to reappear the image features and to arrange them in a image plane. The authors have already proposed the shape-pass type filter bank assuming that the sensual impression mainly depends on minute shapes existing in the texture images. By use of nine basic shape elements, namely black/white-roof, black/white-line, black/white-snake, black/white-pepper, and cliff, natural texture images originating in actual objects have been characterized by feature vectors in a nine dimensional space.   • KB Kookmin Card has separated as an independent corporation from KB Kookmin Bank Credit Card Business Group on March, 2011. Ever since, KB Kookmin Card worked to build its own brand identity. The strategic preparation and conscientious implementations made KB Kookmin Card position in consumer's mind with a strong and unique brand image. Its new brand image was rooted in the inherited strengths of reliable and sincere image. However, it faced the challenge to compete in credit card industry in which most competitors had an advanced and sophisticated image. The strengths of KB Kookmin Card were also at the same time their limitations. KB Kookmin Card took a strategy that strengthened the strengths and improved the weaknesses. It focused on the core competence of being a people's sincere life supporter that helps people make savings from everyday events to make a good sum rather than being a lump sum benefit. The brand introduction strategy was implemented in 2011. The implementation focused on the activities that made internal as well as external customers be aware of the brand. Communication programs using a variety of media were executed to attain this goal. In 2012, second phase communication programs were introduced to elaborate the newly established brand image.   • With the development of deep learning technologies, Artificial Intelligence powered Optical Character Recognition (AI-OCR) has evolved to read multiple languages from various forms of images accurately. For the financial industry, where a large number of diverse documents are processed through manpower, the potential for using AI-OCR is great. In this study, we present a configuration and a design of an AI-OCR modality for use in the financial industry and discuss the platform construction with application cases. Since the use of financial domain data is prohibited under the Personal Information Protection Act, we developed a deep learning-based data generation approach and used it to train the AI-OCR models. The AI-OCR models are trained for image preprocessing, text recognition, and language processing and are configured as a microservice architected platform to process a broad variety of documents. We have demonstrated the AI-OCR platform by applying it to financial domain tasks of document sorting, document verification, and typing assistance The demonstrations confirm the increasing work efficiency and conveniences.

  • 기존의 병리영상의 저장 및 관리, 공유를 위한 시스템이 수작업으로 이루어져 발생하는 문제점들을 보완하기 위한 방안으로 병리 영상의 전산화 및 대용량 자료를 표준화하여 보관하기 위한 시스템을 유방종양 영상을 사용하여 구축하였다. 다양한 유방종양 영상들을 질환별로 분류하고, 획득되어진 배율별로 구분하여 데이터 베이스를 구축하여 검색이 가능하도록 하였다. 비쥬얼 베이직을 이용하여 소프트제어를 개발하였으며, 검색되어진 영상에 대해 영상이 가지고 있는 컬러 및 질감특징값을 뽑아 영상의 객관적인 특성을 파악할 수 있도록 하였으며, 향후 다양하고 체계적인 병리 영상 세포은행을 구축하기 위 한 기반을 마련하였다.

  • In this paper, an automated line-defect detection method for TFT-LCD panel is presented. A DFB(Directional Filter Bank) and line-projection method are used to find line-defect which is one of the major defects occurred in TFT-LCD panel. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm gave promising results for applying automated inspection technique for TFT-LCD panel.
