An Efficient Method for Valid Bandpass Sampling Frequency in the Downconversion Process of N RF Signals (N개 RF 신호의 직접 하향 변환시에 요구되는 효율적인 대역통과 샘플링 주파수 획득 방법 제안)

  • This paper proposes, based on a bandpass sampling theory, a novel method to find valid sampling frequency range and minimum sampling rate with low computational complexity for downconversion of multiple bandpass radio frequency (RF) signals. Guard-bands or spacing between adjacent downconverted signal spectrums are also taken into consideration in determining sampling frequency for practical implementation. Moreover, we verify through comparison with other method that the proposed method has more advantageous properties.

  • This paper presents a novel bandpass filter design method for suppressing spurious response in the GSM band and effectively reducing the overall size with the unbalanced-conditioned metamaterials. Compared to the conventional bandpass filters based on half-or quarter-wave resonators, the CRLH(composite right/left-handed) bandpass filter works excellently in harmonic-suppression by 40$\sim$50 dB and 80 %-miniaturization using the zero-order resonators bridged by Inductive-coupling Inverters suggested first time. The proposed technique, with the equivalent circuit and dispersion diagram, is validated by performance predictions and experiments.

  • In this paper, tunable 4th order SC(switched capacitor) bandpass ${\sigma}-{\Delta}$(Sigma-Delta) modulator with advanced architecture that can adjust the IF by two coefficient values is proposed for data conversion in the wireless communication. Its architecture can optionally adjust all the 4th order noise transfer function in comparison with the conventional architecture. In order to adjust the IF, the conventional architecture needs the four variable coefficients values, basic clocks and eight clocks. On the other hand, the proposed architecture can adjust the IF by two variable coefficient values and basic clocks only.

  • In this paper, tunable SC(switched capacitor) 2nd order bandpass $\Sigma-\Delta$(Sigma-Delta) modulator with novel architecture that can adjust the IF band center frequency by one coefficient value is proposed for data conversion in the IF(Intermediate Frequency) band.   • This paper presents a bandpass fitler of GPS and WLAN band based on LTCC. The structure of bandpass fitler consists of a Butterworth lowpass fitler and highpass filter using CRLH (Composite Right/Left-Handed) transmission line. Using green sheet with dielectric constant 7.2, we fabricated the bandpass filter that satisfied GPS and WLAN band characteristics. We are implemented the bandpass filter at center frequency 1.5 GHz (GPS) and 2.4 GHz (WLAN). Its insertion loss are 1.66 dB at GPS and 3.20 dB at WLAN respectively.

  • Bandpass sampling technique has an advantage that it uses lower sampling frequency than Nyquist criterion. But special care is required in choosing sampling frequency to avoid self-image overlapping in the first Nyquist region. Recently, the second-order BPS techniques which can suppress possible self-image by using an additional ADC and by employing digital signal processing have been proposed. This paper addresses a complex BPS based SDR front-end. Unlike general second-order BPS, it needs simple FIR filter to compensate delay in the second ADC. We show a method to find proper sampling frequencies to down convert RF signals selected by tunable RF filter operating in arbitrary frequency range.

  • A miniaturized waveguide bandpass filter is designed by combining a corrugated lowpass structure and a highpass configuration based on the cut-off effect of waveguides. It is smaller than the conventional waveguide bandpass filter composed of half-wavelength resonators and has wider spurious free characteristics. Optimized design data for a seven-order waveguide bandpass filter with the symmetrical structure are given at the center frequency of 10 GHz with 800 MHz bandwidth. Measured bandwidth of the center frequency of 9.97 GHz is 840 MHz and measured insertion loss is 0.97dB, The length of the bandpass filter is 64.38mm. The first spurious response is produced at 26.1 GHz.

  • This paper describes the design method of active bandpass filters which employ active impedance inverters. Several authors have reported active bandpass filters. However, the functional description of the active blocks in the filters have not been throughly studied. In this paper, the active inverter block of the bandpass filter has is analyzed in the view point of filter design. The designed 3-pole bandwidth filter has its insertion gain of 24 dB at the center frequency of 865 MHz with 75 MHz bandwidth. The noise figure of the active bandpass filter is less than 2.5 dB within its passband.

  • A compact microstrip dual-band bandpass filter with controllable bandwidth for each passband is proposed. Each passband is independently designed using two different dual-mode resonators. The proposed dual-band bandpass filter has three transmission zeros. Two transmission zeros are generated by each dual-mode resonator. An additional transmission zero is generated by input/output port coupling. The dual-band bandpass filter application is designed for 2.4/5.7 GHz WLAN. Experimental results are presented to validate theory.

  • In this paper, a new topology of a active capacitor is proposed in order to apply the resonator in the design of RF active bandpass filters. Through the noise analysis of the active capacitor, the optimized low noise design process is also presented, Due to the low noise performance of the proposed active bandpass filter, it can be used in the RF front-end of the receivers. In designed 2-stage active bandpass filter at 1.9 GHz shows insertion loss of 0 dB, noise figure of 2.6 dB, and OIP3 of 8 dBm.
