A Decentralized Self-Control Strategy for Assembly Cell Using Bucket Brigade (Bucket Brigade를 기반으로 한 분산자율형 조립셀 운영전략)

  • A bucket-brigade is a way of transporting items where items are passed from one person to the next. The operation of the bucket brigade imitates the cooperative behavior of ants when brood, food or other resources are moved. Koo (2009) presented a bucket brigade-based assembly cell where each worker follows a simple rule: perform assembly operations on a product until the next worker downstream takes it over; then go back to the previous worker upstream to take over a new assembly job. In this way, the flow line is self-balanced without any predetermined job assignment. However, there are some productivity losses related to hand-off and blocking. This paper examines the hand-off and blocking losses and presents a new bucket brigade-based assembly cell where working areas for each assembler is restricted with the help of buffer interfaces. Simulation experiments are used to validate the performance of the new assembly system.

  • Supporting object group on distributed object system give merits such as load balancing, fault tolerance and high availability. In this paper, we describe a CORBA ORB that has been designed to support object group based on active replication. The ORB supports the operational model in which it uses the IIOP for communication between client and server and total ordered multicast protocol for consistency control among group members. And through extension of ORB, it provides functions required for support of object group. Since it provides transparency of object replication, the ORB is interoperable with the existing CORBA products. It make possible for existing server application to be easily extended to application supporting object group as adding interface functions which should be used for building applications is minimized. A prototype is implemented, and performance of the replicated object group is tested and compared with a single object invocation.

  • In this paper, a new three-port multidirectional DC-DC converter is proposed for integrating an energy storage system (ESS) to a bipolar DC microgrid (BPDCMG). The proposed converter provides a voltage-balancing function for the BPDCMG and adjusts the charge of the ESS. Thanks to the multi-functional operation of the proposed converter, the conversion stages of the system are reduced. In addition, the efficiency and weight of the system are improved. Therefore, this converter has a significant capability when it comes to use in portable BPDCMGs such as electric DC ships. The converter modes are analyzed and small-signal models of the converter in each of the independent modes are extracted. Finally, comprehensive simulation studies are carried out and a BPDCMG laboratory prototype is implemented in order to verify the performance of the proposed voltage balancer using the burst mode control scheme.

  • 본 논문에서는 Full-bridge 서브모듈로 구성된Delta 구조 MMC를 기반으로 하는 BESS의 SOC 균등제어 기법에 대하여 기술하고 있다. Full-bridge로 구성된 서브모듈의 직류단에는 배터리가 연계되어있다. 배터리는 그 모델에 따라 고유의 전압특성 곡선을 갖기에 SOC 제어를 통한 배터리 출력전압의 균등제어가 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 Delta 구조 MMC BESS의 영상분 전류주입과 개별 배터리의 SOC 차를 이용한 SOC 균등제어 기법을 제안하였다. 그리고 PSCAD/EMTDC를 통하여 제안하는 기법을 시뮬레이션으로 검증하였다.

  • In this paper, a new mobile robot, so called a rollerbot, is presented, which has single body and rugby-ball shaped roller wheel. A rollerbot has single point contact on ground and low energy consumption in motion because of the reduced friction. By changing center of mass using a balancing weight, a rollerbot is able to get steering force. The vertical position of mass center of the rollerbot in this paper is designed to lie inside radius of the roller wheel, so that to have stable equilibrium position. Thus, the posture and the steering control of the rollerbot can be easily done by changing the center of mass. Kinematics of the rollerbot is derived by transformation of differential motion in this paper.

  • This paper describes a new bike system for the postural balance rehabilitation training. Virtual environment and three dimensional graphic model is designed with CAD tools such as 3D Studio Max and World Up. For the real time bike simulation, the optimized WorldToolKit graphic library is embedded with the dynamic geometry generation method, multi-thread method, and portal generation method. In this experiment, 20 normal adults were tested to investigate the influencing factors of balancing posture. We evaluated the system by measuring the parameters such as path deviation, driving velocity, COP(center for pressure), and average weight shift. Also, we investigated the usefulness of visual feedback information by weight shift. The results showed that continuous visual feedback by weight shift was more effective than no visual feedback in the postural balance control It is concluded this system might be applied to clinical use as a new postural balance training system.

  • This paper proposes a new power converter which consists of two identical 3-phase PWM modulators and a novel resonant circuit. A new control strategy is integrated to realize the bidirectional power converter without an electrolytic link capacitor. The power flow between converters is bidirectional and the regenerative braking is inherent. The source side currents maintain sinusoidal waveforms with a unity power factor. It is observed in the experiment that by balancing the active power between the source and load side, the voltage across a small ceramic link capacitor can be maintained within a small deviation from the reference. Simulation results and experimental results are presented to verify the operational principles.

  • 멀티 레벨 인버터는 높은 출력 전압을 갖으며, 낮은 THD(Total harmonic distortion)를 요구하는 시스템에 적합하다. 그 중 cascaded H-brige 멀티레벨 인버터는 H-bridge 셀별 관리가 쉽고, 레벨 수를 증가시키기 쉽다는 장점 때문에 많이 이용되어 왔다. 본 논문에서는 cascaded H-bridge 인버터의 기존 PI (proportional integral) 제어 기반 PWM (pulse width modulation)기법의 스위칭 패턴과 모델 예측 제어의 스위칭 패턴을 비교하고 모델예측 제어 시 셀 별 스위칭 패턴 균형을 위한 방법을 제안한다.

  • This paper proposes an expert system, which is able to determine the problem-solving strategy for diversity events occurred on the distribution system. The events include events related to the fault, scheduled outage and optimal operating task such as feeder line fault, line scheduled outage, line overload, system load balancing, system loss minimization, main transformer fault, main transformer scheduled outage, main transformer overload, main transformer protection control. The expert system enhances the reliability of software designed by the integrated concept for the diversity events.

  • The purpose of this paper is to find the relations between the virtual reality created by the ship´s bridge simulator (simulator) at Radar Navigation Experiment and Research Facility in Kobe University of Mercantile Marine (KUMM) and the observer´s response to it. In short, we analyze the observer´s heart rate variability (R-R interval) in navigational condition seasick impression by simulator occurred, and present the R-R Interval and the stress of observer with SNS and PNS calculated by STFT. In this experiment, rolling of the ship was simulated and presented to the observer. Rolling was simulated only visually not physically or mechanically while the balancing movement and heart beat of the observer were measured and processed to produce the measures for body response to the artificially created visual environment.
