Metal work function dependent photoresponse of schottky barrier metal-oxide-field effect transistors(SB MOSFETs) (금속(Al, Cr, Ni)의 일함수를 고려한 쇼트키 장벽 트랜지스터의 전기-광학적 특성)

  • We studied the dependence of the performance of schottky barrier metal-oxide-field effect transistors(SB MOSFETs) on the work function of source/drain metals. A strong impact of the various work functions and the light wavelengths on the transistor characteristics is found and explained using experimental data. We used an insulator of a high thickness (100nm) and back gate issues in SOI substrate, subthreshold swing was measured to 300~400[mV/dec] comparing with a ideal subthreshold swing of 60[mV/dec]. Excellent characteristics of Al/Si was demonstrated higher on/off current ratios of ${\sim}10^7$ than others. In addition, extensive photoresponse analysis has been performed using halogen and deuterium light sources(200<$\lambda$<2000nm).

  • The 1st and 2nd-order grating structure for long wavelength DFB(Distributed FeedBack) laser diodes are successfully fabricated on InP substrates by using electron beam lithography and reactive ion etch techniques, and also characterized non-destructively by diffraction analysis without removal of photo-resis layer. A new composite layer made by lifted-off Cr layer on thin SiO2 film is developed and used as an etch mask, because PMMA, the e-beamresist, is unsuitable for reactive ion etch of InP. In addition, it is experimentally confiremed that diffraction analysis makes it possible to predict the grating parameters, and the analysis can be used as a non-destructive on-line test to prevent incomplete gratings from being successively processed.

  • In this paper, we have compared and analyzed the performance of high amplifier using Doherty technique to improve linearity and efficiency of base station and repeater Power amplifier for WCDMA. This Doherty amplifier implements with 3dB branch line coupler and $90^{\circ}C$ transmission line The phase offset line is designed to maintain the high linearity and efficiency at the low efficiency Period of the power amplifier CW 1-tone experimental results at the WCDMA frequency $2.11{\sim}2.17GHz$ shows that Doherty amplifier which achieves power add efficiency(PAE) of 50% at 6dB back off the point from maximum output power 52.3 dBm, obtains higher efficiency of 13.3% than class AB Finding optimum bias Point after adjusted gate voltage, Doherty amplifier shows that $IMD_3$ improves 4dB.

  • Recent general press brake has many problems in cutting high accurate products in the progress of industry. Previous hand-operated press brake needs many pre-processing works to adjust bending angle and marking-off works to calculate bending length. Also, The hand-operating work makes many geometric errors and has difficulty for variety-mass production. To solve these problems, this paper proposes Computer Numerical Control (CNC) general press brake and development of servo-control system based on database for reduction of geometric errors and pre-processing work time.

  • Full car model is needed for investigating as a entire dynamics of vehicle. In this study, 7DOF of full car model's dynamics is selected. This paper proposes the output feedback controller based on optimal control theory. Input data and output data from the optimal controller are used for neural network system identification of the suspension system. To do system identification, neural network which has robustness against nonlinearities and disturbances is adapted. This study uses back-propagation algorithm to train a multil-layer neural network. After obtaining a neural network model of a suspension system, a neuro-controller is designed. Neuro-controller controls suspension system with off-line learning method and multistep ahead prediction model based on the neural network model and a neuro-controller. The optimal controller and the neuro-controller are designed and then, both performances are compared through. For simulation, sinusoidal and rectangular virtual bumps are selected.

  • If a sinusoidal excitation force moves back and forth along a structure with a certain frequency, the structure will be excited with the difference frequency of these two frequencies. A low frequency vibration shaker has been developed using this force frequency shifting without actually moving a shaker. The shaker consists of an ordinary eccentric mass shaker, a plate, constant springs, and time varying dampers. The dampers are fumed on and off in a sequential manner to simulate a traveling slide of an excitation force. (omitted)

  • This paper evaluates the BER performance of MC-DS-CDMA systems in frequency selective Rayleigh fading channel, considering the carrier frequency offset and the nonlinear high power amplifier. In the uplink MC-DS-CDMA, the BER performance is better than in the downlink. This paper presents the required output back-off of the nonlinear amplifier and value of frequency offset for good BER performance.

  • I evaluate the BER performance of downlink OFDMA systems in time variant Rayleigh Doppler fading channel, considering the carrier frequency offset and the nonlinear high power amplifier. I obtain the required output back-off of the nonlinear amplifier and value of frequency offset for good BER performance. And I also analyze the BER degradation upon Doppler fading channel.

  • In this paper, we present the position control of pendulum system which is driven by a ultrasonic motor. Since the system's response is different for each initial position of pendulum, it is difficult to obtain the satisfiable control performance by using a neural network which is learned by off-line. To overcome this problem, we propose the multiple controller based on fuzzy inference system for ultrasonic motor. and controller is designed by neural network. The proposed method shows good performance for any initial positions and it's effectiveness is verified from experiments. We expect that ultrasonic motor can be used as actuators of robot's leg or manipulator.

A Combined Process Control Procedure by Monitoring and Repeated Adjustment

  • Statistical process control (SPC) and engineering process control (EPC) are based on different strategies for processes quality improvement. SPC reduces process variability by detecting and eliminating special causes of process variation. while EPC reduces process variability by adjusting compensatory variables to keep the quality variable close to target. Recently there has been needs for a process control proceduce which combines the tow strategies. This paper considers a combined scheme which simultaneously applies SPC and EPC techniques to reduce the variation of a process. The process model under consideration is an integrated moving average(IMA) process with a step shift. The EPC part of the scheme adjusts the process back to target at every fixed monitoring intervals, which is referred to a repeated adjustment scheme. The SPC part of the scheme uses an exponentially weighted moving average(EWMA) of observed deviation from target to detect special causes. A Markov chain model is developed to relate the scheme's expected cost per unit time to the design parameters of he combined control scheme. The expected cost per unit time is composed of off-target cost, adjustment cost, monitoring cost, and false alarm cost.
