A study on the evaluation method for slag detachability (SLAG 박리성 평가 방법에 대한 고찰)

  • A method which can be used for evaluating slag detachability is proposed in this study. The proposed method was intended to get an absolute value for slag detachability, to give consistent value for a given welded joint, and finally to be simple to test. With a test fig made in this study, an impact by dropping a steel ball (13Kg in weight) is applied on the back side of an as-welded plate having a slag layer on the weld bead. Such impact applied forces the slag to drop off from the bead surface. In order to make a quantitative evaluation the amount of slag removed was measured with increasing the number of drops. Using this method six kinds of fluxes were evaluated in terms of the effects of flux type, basicity and weding variables on the slag detachability. As an initial result of this test, it was found that welding heat input affects the detachability significantly. Most importantly the evaluation made using the presently proposed method gives the same order of ranking as that of the actual practice done by a welder.

  • The problem of phlebothrombosis is an important one, not only because of its local effects, but because of the propensity for portions of the venous clot to berak off and travel back to the heart and into the pulmonary Artery. The result of pulmonary embolism, unfortunately is still as prominent a cause of death today as it was before the advant of modern advances in treatment and prevention. This paper reports a case of thrombosis of left common iliac vein left hypogastric vein and left common femoral vein, who had been bedmidden for two weeks because of left knee joint arthritis. Successfully treated with transabdominal direst venous thrombectomy and anticoagulant heparin. Authors also reviewed the references.

Origin of Optical Bounce during switching in the FFS Mode using a LC with Positive Dielectric Anisotropy (유전율이 양인 액정을 이용한 FFS모드의 스위칭시 Optical Bounce 발생 원인에 관한 연구)

  • Optical bounce during switching in the fringe field switching (FFS) mode using a liquid crystal (LC) with positive dielectric anisotropy has been observed. According to the analysis, it occurs at two positions which are center and edge of the pixel electrode, which decreases decaying response time. The former is major and mainly associated with increase in twist angle instantaneously during switching off resulted from decrease in tilt angle near by LC molecules at center. This paper discusses the origin of such optical bounces.

  • The purpose of this study was to present the method to choose the optimization machining condition for the wire electric discharge machine. This was completed by examining the ever-changing quality of the material and by improving the function of the wire electric discharge machine. Precision metal mold products and the unmanned wire electric discharge machining system were used and then applied in industrial fields. This experiment uses the wire electric discharge machine with brass wire electrode of 0.25mm. In this experiment, we changed no-node voltage to 7 and 9, pulse-on-time to 6$mutextrm{s}$, 8$mutextrm{s}$ and 10$mutextrm{s}$, pulse-off-time to 8$mutextrm{s}$, 10$mutextrm{s}$ and 13$mutextrm{s}$, and experimented on wire tension at room temperature by 1000gf, 1200gf, and 1400gf, respectively.

A Wireless Location-Based Routing Algorithm in Multi-User Game Environments

  • In this paper, we propose a wireless location-based routing algorithm which uses the location information of its neighbor nodes and a destination node. At first, the proposed routing algorithm forwards a packet to the X direction by selecting a closest node to its destination as a next hop in terms of the X coordinate until the packet reaches closely to the packet's destination. Then the packet is forwarded to the Y direction by selecting a closest node to its destination in terms of the Y coordinate. We use a back off mechanism in case that a next hop cannot be found using the proposed routing algorithm, which resolves loops while forwarding. The experimental results show that the proposed routing algorithm performs well like the existing routing algorithms Ad hoc On-demand Distance Vector and Greedy Perimeter Stateless Routing. It is expected to use the proposed routing algorithm in the digital battlefield of military environments and survival games of commercial environments.

  • Recent general Press brake has many problems in cutting high accurate products in the progress of industry. Previous hand-operated press brake needs many pre-processing works to adjust bending ang1e and marking-off works to calculate bending length. Also, the hand-operating work makes many geometric errors and has difficulty for variety-mass production. To solve these problems, this paper proposes Computer Numerical Control (CNC) general press brake and development of servo-control system based on database for reduction of geometric errors and pre-processing work time and high accuracy bending work.

  • If a sinusoidal excitation force moves back and forth along a structure with a certain frequency, the structure will be excited with the difference frequency of these two frequencies. A low frequency vibration shaker has been developed using this force frequency shifting without actually moving a shaker. The shaker consists of an ordinary eccentric mass shaker, a plate, constant springs, and time varying dampers. The dampers are turned on and off in a sequential manner to simulate a traveling slide of an excitation force. The operation of the shaker is simulated by solving the equations of motion of the shaker. Characteristics of the shaker have been found and they will be utilized to design efficient low frequency shakers.

  • In this paper, The loss spectra between 1.1um and 1.7um were measured by cut-back method using tungsten-halogen lamp, a grating monochramator and an InGaAs detector. Typical fiber lengths measured were 30 meter. This result represent a further contribution to monomode fiber design and has been applied to come common profimes that are under study to optimize the fiber performance. It is very important that the parameter a. were designed more exactly and transmission of LPol mode in 1.55um. Therefore, Fiber designer have to be aware of the fact that this coupling loss and bending loss.

  • We evaluate the BER performance of OFDMA system for Wibro services in frequency selective Rayleigh fading channel, considering the carrier frequency offset and the nonlinear high power amplifier. In the uplink OFDMA, nonlinear amplifier and frequency offset introduce larger BER degradation than in the downlink. We explain the reason and obtain the required output back-off of the nonlinear amplifier and value of frequency offset for good BER performance.

  • This paper deals with speed control of DC-servo motor using a Back-Propagation(BP) Learning Algorism and a PID controller Conventionally in the industrial control, PID controller has been used. But the PID controller produced suitable parameter of each system and also variable of PID controller should be changed enviroment, disturbance, load. So this paper revealed for experimental, a neural network and a PID controller combined system using developed speed characters of a Variable Load DC-servo motor. The parameters of the plant are determined by neural network perform on on-line system after training the neural network on off-line system.
