내연기관 밸브의 동적 접촉 및 응력 해석 (Analysis of Dynamic Contact and Stress of a Valve in Internal Combustion Engine)

  • Numerical analysis of dynamic contact and stress developing in the high-speed driven valve of an internal combustion engine is presented. The valve is modeled by finite element techniques, and the dynamic contact between the valve and the valve seat is analyzed by the solution strategies of differential algebraic equations. Also an iterative scheme similar to the augmented Lagrange multiplier method is employed to enforce the contact constraints. It is shown that the contact and separation between the valve and the valve seat can be computed by the finite element techniques without assuming the artificial springs, and the efficiency and accuracy of the solution are demonstrated by the numerical examples.

  • According to the United States FMVSS 208, every passenger car on the market after September of 2006 must install a safety system, which can deploy the airbag with different intensity or suppression based on the passenger type, to reduce infant and child injuries from airbag deployments. The Weight Classification System, which has been developed by Hyundai Autonet, is a system that classifies the person occupying the passenger seat. To overcome sensing problems due to the weight sensors small voltage, the Distributed Systems Interface is adopted.

  • In order to comply with the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard(FMVSS) No. 208 that has been in force since September 2003, an automatic airbag suppression system has become an essential option for detecting and protecting infants and children seated in the front passenger seat of vehicles in the U.S. market. MOBIS has developed the world's first weight-based OCS under the name NWCS. NWCS is composed of two sensors and ECU. It is sub-packaged in order to minimize the seat structure deviation. In this paper, technical features, robustness and performance of NWCS are summarized and discussed.

  • Burr generated on plate holder should be removed through additional process, because it has an influence on the function of automotive seat recliner. The process layout to perform simultaneously embossing and half blanking of plate holder has been developed in this study in order to minimize the influence of burr formation. The optimal process condition to satisfy the required dimensional accuracy of plate holder has been determined using Taguchi method and finite element analysis. It has been shown from experimental results that the proposed method is decidedly superior to the previous FCF method from the aspect of sheared surface, roll-over, flatness and burr height.

SIMULINK를 이용한 비선형 동적 해석 (Nonlinear Dynamic Simulation using SIMULINK)

  • Analyses of dynamic models which were one and two degrees of freedom, and had the nonlinear springs and dampings with certain polynomial functions were performed from SIMULINK in MATLAB. Those consisted of 12 programs and were built on the basis of the preceding programs fur the linear dynamic simulations. However the programs for the nonlinear simulations were quite different from those f3r the linear ones, and showed the results of the analyses in real time with animating. It was found that the programs would help us to solve any kind of nonlinear dynamic simulation with one and two degrees of freedom. Especially, the simulations for 1 DOF system with cubic nonlinear spring farce showed the results for Duffing's equation, of which phenomena were jump-up and jump-down. It will be applied to the dynamic simulation of the car seat vibration with a passenger, of which model has the equivalent nonlinear springs and is two degrees of freedom.

시트 하이트 모터 기어의 각도별 내구성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Durability of Seat Height Motor Gear by Angle)

  • In this study, structural and fatigue analyses of the motor gears that control the height of car seat were carried out at angles of $10^{\circ}$, $20^{\circ}$, and $30^{\circ}$. The study aims at examining which angle of the gear is superior in terms of effect on strength. In the structural and fatigue analyses, the force of 3136 N was applied to the gears, and the stress and deformation were obtained. As the analysis results, model B ($30^{\circ}$) is suggested to have the best strength and fatigue durability among the three models.

윤활제 특성에 따른 시트 리클라이너 부품의 마찰 및 마모 특성 (The Friction and Wear Characteristics of the Seat Recliner Parts Based on Lubricant Characteristics)

  • The driver seat of an automobile is in direct contact with the driver and provides the driver with a safe and comfortable ride. The seat consists of a frame, a rail, and many recliners. In recent years, strength and operating force measurement testing of the recliner have become vital for designing car seats. However, performance evaluation requires expensive testing equipment, numerous seat products, and considerable time. Therefore, the trend is to reduce experimentation through interpretation. This study examines the lubrication of solid lubricant for automotive seat recliners and confirms the friction and wear performance. In this study, the lubrication behavior of solid lubricants for car seat recliners is investigated to ascertain the friction and wear performance and to provide accurate values for the strength analysis. The friction material consists of a pin and a plate made from steel, which is widely used in recliners. The friction and wear under lubrication conditions are measured by a reciprocating friction wear tester. The friction coefficient is obtained according to the load and speed. Based on the obtained results, it is possible to achieve a reduction in the error of the test value and the analysis by providing the friction coefficient and wear of the lubricant. The results can be applied to the analysis of automobile seat design.

공압식 능동형 엔진마운트 시스템의 TPA 출력변수간의 상관관계 분석 (Correlation Analysis of TPA Output Variables in a Pneumatic Active Engine Mount System)

  • A PAEM(Pneumatic Active Engine Mount) system has been developed to improve NVH performance of a SUV in idle state. Control objective to attenuate the vibration of a vehicle should be determined prior to the design of control algorithm. This study presents the correlation analysis of output variables of PAEM system by means of TPA(Transfer Path Analysis) using experimental data obtained by vehicle test. The analysis results show that the vibration of vertical direction is more serious than those of longitudinal and lateral direction of the vehicle, and that the correlation between the vibration of front seat rail and that of steer wheel is highest. In conclusion, the vibrations of front seat rail and steer wheel in vertical direction should be considered as the control objectives of the PAEM.

사이드 볼스터의 강도 해석을 통한 융합 연구 (A Convergence Study through Strength Analysis of Side Bolster)

  • 사이드 볼스터는 자동차 시트에서 탑승자가 시트에 착석하였을 때, 더욱 안정성을 줄 수 있도록 옆에서 탑승자의 몸을 잡아주는 부품이다. 본 연구에서는 A, B 두 가지의 모델을 가지고 자동차 시트에서 사이드 볼스터에 대한 구조 및 피로해석을 수행하였다. 하중이 많이 실리는 부분과 자동차 운행 시 피로로 인한 파손 및 구조에 따른 내구성의 차이를 연구하였고 응력, 변형량의 분포 및 피로 수명을 알아보았으며 또한 그 강도 및 내구성을 검토하였다. 본 연구 결과는 사이드 볼스터의 설계에 따라 피로 파손을 줄이고 그 피로 수명 및 내구성을 증가할 수 있는 데 기여가 될 것으로 사료된다. 그리고 본 결과를 자동차 사이드 볼스터의 설계를 실제적으로 적용함으로서 제품을 향상시킬 수 있고 본 연구결과를 미적 감각을 가진 융합 연구에 응용하는 것이 유리하다고 사료된다.

차량용 파워 시트 작동음의 감성 어휘 추출 및 주관적 음질 평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Emotional Adjective Extraction and Subjective Evaluation of Sound Quality for Vehicle Power Seat)

  • In this study, emotional adjectives about the operating sound quality of the vehicle power seat are constructed, and the effectiveness of the emotional adjectives are verified by evaluating the operating sound quality. First, emotional adjectives were collected from the literature related to the automobile field and other sound qualities. A questionnaire was made using these adjectives. The questionnaire was designed to be able to select all adjectives that could express the operating noise of the power seat slide adjuster by applying the multiple- response method. Next, a subjective sound quality evaluation was conducted using the emotional adjectives. In the evaluation, we first recorded the operating noise for two power seats. Second, the subjective sound quality evaluation was performed on the recorded operating noise using a loudspeaker. Finally, through a statistical analysis on the sound quality evaluation results, the relationship between the semantic space and the preference score was verified, and the validity of the emotional adjectives was verified.
