Development of the Automatic Design Program for Scaffolding System of the Membrane LNG Carrier (멤브레인 LNG 운반선용 스카폴딩 시스템의 자동 설계 프로그램 개발)

  • Scaffolding system in the membrane LNG carrier is a steel structure composed of various pipe-shaped members connected by specific coupling devices. In this study, the automatic design program for scaffolding system in membrane LNG carrier has been developed. It enables user to arrange members easily considering design constraints and input variables such as size of tank, position of legs, level height and so on. In addition to that, it creates finite element analysis model with loading and boundary conditions automatically and carries out structural analysis. With post processor based a state-of-the-art computer graphics, users can easily check the results of structural analysis and make a report for structural safety of scaffolding system.

  • Recently, there has been increased demand for automatic warehouses with racks which are installed inside the warehouses to allow vertical loading of products or goods for space efficiency. Therefore considerations about fire hazards are extremely necessary. In this study, the fire hazard of automatic warehouse with racks was analyzed in the view of fire prevention engineering. It appeared its fire hazard was extremely high because of the undefined fire zones, the windowless floor, the large volume, the difficulty of extinguishment and the smoke emission in the view of building itself, and because of the fire hazard of load itself, the high fire load, and the chimney effect in the view of fire.

  • Automatic Transfer Crane is needed for automation of container terminal. It requires the control capability of exact position for loading/unloading job in yard. But it has the limitation of improvement because it has the operational environmental and its structural problems. It has the positioning errors caused by the deformation of rail, yawing motion of crane, wear of wheel, sliding motion between wheel and rail and so on. This study shows the calibration method of crane position by using the primitivity sensor and calibrating plate fixed on the ground.

  • A forklift is an industrial vehicle that lifts or transports heavy objects using a hydraulically operated fork, and is equipped with an automatic transmission for the convenience of repetitive transportation, loading, and unloading work. The Transmission Control Unit (TCU) is a key component in charge of the shift control function of an automatic transmission. It consists of an electric circuit with an input/output signal interface function and firmware running on a microcontroller. To develop TCU firmware, the development process of shifting algorithm design, firmware programming, verification test, and performance improvement must be repeated. A simulator is a device that simulates a mechanical system having dynamic characteristics in real time and simulates various sensor signals installed in the system. The embedded transmission simulator is a simulator that is embedded in the TCU firmware. information related to the mechanical system that is necessary for TCU normal operation. In this study, an embedded transmission simulator applied to the originally developed forklift TCU firmware was designed and used to verify various forklift shift control algorithms.

  • In order to minimize straightness error of deflected shafts, a automatically bending process control system is designed, fabricated, and studied. The multi-step straightening process and the three-point bending process are developed for the geometric adaptive straightness control. Load-deflection relationship, on-line identification of variations of material properties, on-line springback prediction, and studied for the three-point bending processes. Selection of a loading point supporting condition are derved form fuzzy inference and fuzzy self-learning method in the multi-step straighternign process. Automatic straightening machine is fabricated by using the develped ideas. Validity of the proposed system si verified through experiments.

  • In this study, as the preliminary step for developing an unmanned vehicle to deliver a container-box, we designed and implemented Automatic Guided Vehicle(AGV) Simulator for the purpose of Port Facilities Automation. It is preferable to research the intelligent AGV for delivery all day long. For complementing AGV simulator driving, we used multiple-sensor systems with vision, ultrasonic, IR and adapted the high-speed wireless LAN that satisfies the IEEE 802.11 Standard for bi-directional communication between main processor in AGV and Host computer. Here, we mounted on bottom frame in AGV Pentium-III processor, which combine and compute the information from each sensor system and control the AGV driving, and used the 80C196KC micro-controller to control the actuating and steering motors.

Application of Automatic Stormwater Monitoring System and SWMM Model for Estimation of Urban Pollutant Loading During Storm Events (빗물 자동모니터링장치와 SWMM 모델을 이용한 강우시 도시지역 오염부하량 예측에 관한 연구)

  • An automatic flow and water quality monitoring system was applied to estimate pollutant loads to an urban stream during storm events in DTV (Daeduk Techno Valley), Daejeon, Korea. The monitoring system consists of rainfall gage, ultrasonic water level meter, water quality sensors for DO, temperature, pH, conductivity, turbidity and automatic water sampler for further laboratory analysis. All data are transmitted through on-line system and the monitoring system is designed to be controlled manually in the field and remotely from laboratory computer. Flow rates were verified with field measurements during storm events and showed good agreements. Automatic sampler was used to collect real time samples and analyzed for BOD, COD, TN, TP, SS and other pollutant concentrations in the laboratory. SWMM (Storm Water Management Model) urban watershed model was applied and calibrated using the observed flow and water quality data for the study area. While flow modeling results showed good agreement for all events, water quality modeling results showed variable levels of agreement. These results indicate that current options in the SWMM model to predict pollutant build up and wash-off effects are not sufficient to satisfy modeling of all the rainfall events under study and thus need further modification. This study showed the automatic monitoring system can be used to provide data to assist further refinement of modeling accuracy. This automatic stormwater monitoring and modeling system can be used to develop basin scale water quality management strategies of urban streams in storm events.

  • In this paper, concerning the various advertising and policy advertising of the election with respect to whether to deliver a message to a large number of people, we design and implement an automative system what enables sending the text messages directly from the server to the client and also fast feedback is enabled by utilizing a number of operational programs to connect to the server. Therefore, we design and implement the automative communication system which enables delivering message to each user mobile terminal from a plurality of relay mobile terminals by utilizing the mobile instant messenger, not to deliver a message from the server to the mobile instant messenger user directly. In result of comparative analysis on the number of times of data transmission, this automative communication system utilizing mobile instant messenger shows the result that it enables transmitting five times per minute as it can copy and paste in the automation system regardless of the size of the data loading, otherwise in case of transmitting manually it show the result that the number of times of data transmission is reduced if the size of the data is larger.

  • Large warehouses are building automation systems to increase efficiency. However, small warehouses, military bases, and local stores are unable to introduce automated logistics systems due to lack of space and budget, and are handling tasks manually, failing to improve efficiency. To solve this problem, this study designed small loading and unloading equipment that can be mounted on transportation vehicles. The equipment can be controlled remotely and is automatically controlled from the point where pallets loaded with cargo are visible using real-time video from an attached camera. Cargo recognition and control command generation for automatic control are achieved through a newly designed deep learning model. This model is designed to be optimized for loading and unloading equipment and mission environments based on the YOLOv3 structure. The trained model recognized 10 types of palettes with different shapes and colors with an average accuracy of 100% and estimated the state with an accuracy of 99.47%. In addition, control commands were created to insert forks into pallets without failure in 14 scenarios assuming actual loading and unloading situations.
