  • PCAOB conducts the direct supervision for the PCAOB registered accounting firm. Therefore, if an accounting firm is registered with the PCAOB, it will thoroughly manage for their quality management systems. The registered auditor can be expected to have better quality of the audit. This study carried out the analysis using the audit fee which proxies for audit quality. The results of analysis are as follows. After controlling for foreign accounting firms affiliated status, company size, risky assets, leverage, ROA, and market-related variables, PCAOB is a significant explanatory variable for the audit fees. The results of this study support the hypothesis that PCAOB-registered auditors will provide a good audit quality.

  • As the importance of information audit is getting bigger, the public corporations invest many expenses at information system audit to build a high quality system. For this purpose, there are much research to proceed an audit effectively. In database audit works, it could audit utilizing a variety of monitoring tools. However, when auditing SQLs which might be affected to database performance, there are several limits related to SQL audit functionality. For this reason, most existing monitoring tools process based on meta information, it is difficult to proceed SQL audit works if there is no meta data or inaccuracy. Also, it can't detect problems by analysis of SQL's syntax structure. In this paper, we design and implement the SQL Inspector using ANTLR which is applied by syntax analysis technique. The overall conclusion is that the implemented SQL Inspector can work effectively much more than eye-checked way. Finally, The SQL inspector which we proposed can apply much more audit rules by compared with other monitoring tools. We expect the higher stability of information system to apply SQL Inspector from development phase to the operation phase.

  • This research is aiming to specify the requirement of the investment such as initial cost, running cost earning rate to make effective investment considering the purpose of remodeling and economical value of store building enough to meet the initial purpose of remodeling. The review of earning rate for economical evaluation was performed by the on-site auditing on the structure and function of the building and applying the assessment simulation program, which is to find the possible business model to identify the requirement of building owner through case study. After the research, the following results are obtained. First, it is important that many aspects should be carefully analysis and the best method should be selected as characteristics of remodeling can tie defer each other in their implementations. Second, though the remodeling of exist buildings to promote the functions has been applied. no suitable assessment tool has bee developed for deriding the level of remodeling in the view of economical efficiency so far. Third, the economical benefit was evaluated by analysing annual earning rate which is applied by investment items and recovery period for the investment. More specific data base should be established to apply the suggested economic accession in business enough to forecast the future circumstances. More researches should be promoted on this area continuously as well as the integrated economic evaluation of remodeling on existing building.

  • In the chemical process industries, accidents have a high potential and large effects on catastrophic results. Therefore the safety management for accident prevention plays a crucial role to guarantee the process safety. For these reasons, many systematic methods for safety management system have been widely employed in the fields of chemical processes. PSM (Process safety management) is one of most representative methods. The audit system, which is one of PSM system components, evaluates the performance of PMS system. However, most existing safety audit systems are not systematic and these are performed based on knowledges and experiences of various specialist. Moreover, the safety audit is only performed based on each independent technical component. So, the results of safety audit are not a quantitative index but only a series of commentaries. Finally, it is very difficult to obtain the comparison with other plants or industries. In this study, the novel systematic method and index-based accident database of auditing safety management systems for quantitative assessment are proposed. First, the elements of safety audit replace technical methods to categories of accident database. The F-N curve of each category for accident database is employed to derive the index for quantitative assessment. The Accidental Factor Risk Index (AFRI) is suggested for evaluating the effect of each element in accident database and safety audit system. The safety audit can be modified according to the proposed index.

  • With the spread of COVID-19 infections, the need for next-generation learning management system for undact education is rapidly increasing, and the Ministry of Education is planning future education through the establishment of fourth-generation NEIS. If the fourth-generation NEIS System is well utilized, there are advantages such as providing personalized education services and activating the use of educational data, but a solution to the illegal access problem in an access control environment where strict authorization is difficult due to various user rights. In this paper, we propose a blockchain-based access control audit system for next-generation learning management. Sensitive personal information is encrypted and stored using the proposed system, and when the auditor performs an audit later, a secret key for decryption is issued to ensure auditing. In addition, in order to prevent modification and deletion of stored log information, log information was stored in the blockchain to ensure stability. In this paper, a hierarchical ID-based encryption and a private blockchain are used so that higher-level institutions such as the Ministry of Education can hierarchically manage the access rights of each institution.

  • In the business environment of the modern society, it is not possible for the company, which is a producer of accounting information, to provide accounting information to the users of accounting information because it can not satisfy the information demand of the accounting information users due to the problem of information asymmetry. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to find out what information should be provided for satisfying the information needs of users of accounting information. This study investigates the qualitative characteristics of accounting information based on K-IFRS in the provision of accounting information and conducts empirical studies based on the users of accounting information of listed companies and unlisted companies. And how to improve the satisfaction. As a result of empirical research, it was confirmed that the accounting information satisfying the qualitative characteristics is useful for meeting the information needs of users of accounting information.

In this study, 21 Chinese agricultural enterprises were investigated and counted by means of accounting fraud. The means of accounting fraud of listed companies related to agriculture mainly consisted of profit inflation, inflating their net assets, the disclosure of accounting information violations, asset inflation for net asset inflation, and the incomplete disclosure for accounting information violations. Among these, income forgery was the most frequent among the 21 companies surveyed as a means of accounting fraud in profit inflation. Through this study, in the field of auditing academically, it is possible to find the motives of fraudulent acts in Chinese agricultural enterprises and to obtain advice to reduce fraudulent acts, and it will be of great help in theoretical research related to accounting frauds.

  • This research is to analyze how an introduction of full-time quality control("QC") personnel system in audit firms influences on audit quality and verify how important it is to establish the quality control system for auditing quality. We measure audit quality as the level of discretionary accruals and compare the differences between audit firms with QC and without QC. In addition, we analyze the difference in audit qualities between before and after activating the full-time QC personnel system by comparing audit quality of before 2015 with that of after 2016. The results of this study are summarized as follows. First, the audit quality is higher when audit firms have QC personnel. Second, the audit quality is improved after the introduction of the full-time QC personnel system.

  • This study examines how auditors respond to labor investment inefficiency, specifically its impact on audit fees and audit hours. Using a sample of Korean firms listed on the Korea Stock Exchange from 2003 to 2018, our empirical results indicate that firms involved in inefficient investment in labor incur higher audit fees and audit hours. This implies that auditors consider inefficient labor investment to cause considerable business risk, thus requesting higher external audit fees to compensate for higher audit risk. Furthermore, auditors expend more time and effort while auditing those firms by expanding the audit procedures to reduce the audit risk to an acceptable level. Finally, this study provides empirical evidence on whether the investment inefficiency in labor, an important factor in firms' competitiveness, incur higher audit fees as well as audit hours.
