  • Reducing the building energy consumption has become one of the most important issues. However, the current engineering and technological involvement in energy analysis has been relatively low in the existing buildings. In the existing buildings, end-use analysis must be accompanied to calculate the exact amount in energy savings and such analysis should be conducted based on the energy billing data or measurement data by calibration process. Mostly, detailed energy simulation programs have been proposed for the analysis but, it is difficult to utilize them due to realistic problems. In this paper, we developed an end-use analysis tool that have input function for energy audit data and two case studies were conducted in the real-life office buildings located in Seoul, Korea. Mean Bias Error (MBE) and Coefficient of Variation of Root-Mean- Squreaed-Error (CV(RMSE)) are used for the criteria of comparison. Each index was calculated by using monthly utility bills of electricity and gas consumption. Results showed that MBE and CV (RMSE) represented with acceptable values of -0.1% and 5.7% respectively.

  • This paper classifies technical, administrative and physical areas of defects and advices made by an external audit (ISO27001) and internal audit (performed by a security team) in a company which has the management system of information security. With the classified data it finds the correlation between the budget and investment of information security, and analyze the correlation. As a result of the analysis, it has been found that as time goes on there is a consistent correlation between a administrative area and technical area of security. Specially, it has been confirmed that the relation between the scale of the budget which is not executed and the number of the defects and advices made by the audit is in direct proportion. Therefore, in this paper, so as to provide a model that can be used for validating the effectiveness of the protective investment information by statistically calculating the similarity based on the results of correlation analysis. This research is intended to help that a company makes a precise decision when it establishes a policy of information security and systematic methodology of the investment in information security.

  • Alcohol affects human body very seriously by causing different types of disease. Therefore, a great deal of studies on alcohol addiction have been conducted. There is little, however, on skin problem in relation to alcohol abuse in domestic researches. This study, with this reason, has been conducted on alco holic women, especially who have sensitive skin, with pruritus. From May 1st until 20th, 2013, surveys using same questionnaires had been carried out for the two different groups. one with 114 female alcoholics from four different clinics for acoholics through the nation, the other with 106 residents without alcoholic problems in Cheong-ju and Seong-nam city. From the comparative study of those surveys, alcohol addicts showed higher scores on pruritus than those without alcoholic problems. In addition, Audit-K score had positive correlation with pruritus score, and drinking cycle and quantity, too, had been found related to pruritus. It is expected that the findings will be used as a fundamental data for treating alcohol addicts with skin disease and leading more active researches on this field for the future.

  • Background: Korea has shown a rapid pace of aging and has become an aged society in a shorter period than Western countries. Therefore, it is important that middle-aged workers maintain their ability to work in the industrial field at the maximum level while maintaining their health. The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors affecting work ability and to use this data to maintain the working ability of middle-aged workers in the future. Methods: From 2015 to 2017, we surveyed 371 street cleaners who visited a health center for health promotion in a metropolitan city. The relationship between the general characteristics of the survey subjects and the Work Ability Index (WAI) was confirmed by a univariate analysis. Statistically significant (p<0.2) factors were selected and a multiple linear regression analysis was conducted with WAI scores as a dependent variable. Results: Age, body mass index, body fat percentage, the Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test-Korea (AUDIT-K) scores, the Psychosocial Well-Being Index-Short Form (PWI-SF) scores, maximal oxygen consumption ($VO_{2max}$), and hypertension showed statistically significant correlations with the WAI in the univariate analysis. In the multivariate analysis, the $VO_{2max}$, AUDIT-K scores, and PWI-SF scores were included in the regression equation. $VO_{2max}$ had the greatest effect on the standardization coefficient indicating the relative contribution of independent variables, followed by the AUDIT-K scores and the PWI-SF scores. Conclusion: Programs to increase workers' physical work ability and alleviate psychosocial stress and drinking habits should be developed and implemented in the future.

  • In this paper we examine the machine learning issues raised by the domain of the Intrusion Detection Systems(IDS), which have difficulty successfully classifying intruders. There systems also require a significant amount of computational overhead making it difficult to create robust real-time IDS. Machine learning techniques can reduce the human effort required to build these systems and can improve their performance. Genetic algorithms are used to improve the performance of search problems, while data mining has been used for data analysis. Data Mining is the exploration and analysis of large quantities of data to discover meaningful patterns and rules. Among the tasks for data mining, we concentrate the classification task. Since classification is the basic element of human way of thinking, it is a well-studied problem in a wide variety of application. In this paper, we propose a classifier system based on genetic algorithm, and the proposed system is evaluated by applying it to IDS problem related to classification task in data mining. We report our experiments in using these method on KDD audit data.

  • The study aims to assess the impact of foreign direct investment (FDI) and international trade (export and import) on Vietnam's economic growth for the 2000-2018 period. Secondary data is taken from the General Statistics Office of Vietnam. Ordinary least-square method is used in analyzing the impact of FDI, export and import on economic growth of Vietnam. Empirical test results show that FDI and international trade are related to Vietnam's economic growth. However, each economic variable has a different impact. FDI has a positive and statistically significant influence on economic growth of Vietnam. Export also has positive and statistically significant impact to the economic growth, while import has a negative but not statistically significant effect. The result is useful for the policy makers of Vietnam on foreign economic relations. In order to improve the effect of FDI and international trade on growth of the economy, the government of Vietnam should: (1) continue applying preferential policies to attract FDI; (2) select foreign investors aiming to quality, efficiency, high technology and environmental protection; (3) continue pursuing export-oriented policy; (4) enhance the added value of exported goods and control the type of imported goods; (5) further liberalize trade through signing and implementation of international trade commitments.

  • Tax can be categorised into direct tax and indirect tax. This paper uses the ordinary least-squares regression method to study the impact of direct and indirect tax on economic growth in Vietnam in the period 2003-2017. Statistical data is collected from the Ministry of Finance of Vietnam. Theoretically, tax generates the state budget revenue and is a tool to regulate the economy. The results of statistical tests show that tax has a positive impact on Vietnam's economic growth. However, the effects of direct tax and indirect tax are different. The indirect tax has a positive influence and promote Vietnam's economic growth, while the impact of the direct tax is invisible. There has not been sufficient evidence to confirm that the indirect tax has a more positive impact than the direct tax. To promote economic growth, Vietnam needs to restructure its tax system towards: (1) Increasing the proportion of indirect tax, reducing the proportion of direct tax in the state budget revenue; (2) Expanding tax bases; (3) Reducing tax rates of corporate income tax and personal income tax; (4) Increasing tax rates of environmental protection tax, natural resources tax, value added tax and excise tax on some types of goods which harm health and environment.
