In the case of a strapdown inertial navigation system (SDINS) with sizeable attitude errors, the uncertainty caused by linearization of the system degrades the performance of the filter. In this paper, a robust filter and various error models for the uncertainty are presented. The analytical characteristics of the proposed filter are also investigated. The results show that the filter does not require the statistical property of the system disturbance and that the region of the estimation error depends on a freedom parameter in the worst case. Then, the uncertainty of the SDINS is derived. Depending on the choice of the reference frame and the attitude error state, several error models are presented. Finally, various in-flight alignment methods are proposed by combining the robust filter with the error models. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed filter effectively improves the performance.

Earth acquisition is to solve when earth can be visible from satellite after Sun acquisition during launch and early operation period or on-station satellite anomaly. In this paper, the algorithm and test result of the Communication, Ocean and Meteorological Satellite (COMS) Earth acquisition are presented in case of on-station satellite anomaly status. The algorithms for the calculation of Earth-pointing attitude control parameters including those attitude direction vector, rotation matrix, and maneuver time and duration are based on COMS configuration (Eurostar 3000 bus). The coordinate system uses the reference initial frame. The constraint calculating available time-slot to perform the earth acquisition considers eclipse, angular separation, solar local time, and infra-red earth sensor blinding conditions. The results of Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) are compared with that of the Astrium software to validate the implemented ETRI software.
This paper presents a new attitude stabilization and control of an unmanned helicopter based on neural network compensation. A systematic derivation on the dynamics of an unmanned small-scale helicopter is performed. Combined rotor-fuselage-tail dynamics is derived in body-fixed reference frame with its origin at the C.G. of the helicopter. And the resulting nonlinear equation of motion consists of 6-DOF air vehicle dynamics as well as the rotor flapping and engine torque equations. A simulation model was modified using the existing simulator for an unmanned helicopter dynamic model, which reflects the unmanned test helicopter(CNUHELI). The dynamic response of the refined model was compared with the flight test data. It can be shown that a good coincidence was accomplished between the real unmanned helicopter system and the mathematical model. This dynamic model was linearized for classical controller design using small perturbation method. A Neuro-PD control system was designed for both longitudinal and lateral flight modes, and the results were compared with the PD-only control response. Simulation results show that the proposed Neuro-PD control system demonstrates better performance.

Most of the university libraries in Korea provide digital reference service(DRS), but the use of DRS is very low. The low usage of DRS seems to result from the lack of subject librarians, of staff, of public relations, and of managers' enthusiastic attitude and understanding of DRS. It is difficult to solve these problems because of the poor circumstances in universities. The collaborative digital reference service(CDRS) is a solution to these problems. Not only CDRS costs little but also can provide reference services in many different subject areas. Though subject specialist librarian, user-friendly system interface, system programs and administrative supports are necessary to implement CDRS, the education and training of the subject specialist librarians is the most important work to be done in the university library situation in Korea.

Integrating the Global Positioning System (GPS) and Inertial Navigation System (INS) sensor technologies using the precise GPS Carrier phase measurements is a methodology that has been widely applied in those application fields requiring accurate and reliable positioning and attitude determination; ranging from 'kinematic geodesy', to mobile mapping and imaging, to precise navigation. However, such integrated system may not fulfil the demanding performance requirements when the baseline length between reference and mobil user GPS receiver is grater than a few tens of kilometers. This is because their positioning/attitude determination is still very dependent on the errors of the GPS observations, so-called "baseline dependent errors". This limitation can be remedied by the integration of GPS and INS sensors, using multiple reference stations. Hence, in order to derive the GPS distance dependent errors, this research proposes measurement processing algorithms for multiple reference stations, such as a reference station ambiguity resolution procedure using linear combination techniques, a error estimation based on Kalman filter and a error interpolation. In addition, all the algorithms are evaluated by processing real observations and results are summarized in this paper.
This paper describes development of automatic flight control system for an unmanned target drone. Current target drone is operated by pilot control of on-board servo motor via remote control system. Automatic flight control system for the target drone greatly reduces work load of ground pilot and can increase application area of the drone. Most UAVs being operated nowdays use high-priced sensors as AHRS and IMU to measure the attitude, but those are costly. This paper introduces the development of low-cost automatic flight control system with low-cost sensors. The integrated automatic flight control system has been developed. The performance of automatic flight control system is verified by flight test.
This paper focuses on a real-time hardware processing by implementing the ARM Cortex-M4 based embedded system, using a conversion algorithm from a muscular sense to both visual and auditory elements, which recognizes rotations of a human body, directional changes and motion amounts out of human senses. As an input method of muscular sense, AHRS(Attitude Heading Reference System) was used to acquire roll, pitch and yaw values in real time. These three input values were converted into three elements of HSI color model such as intensity, hue and saturation, respectively. Final color signals were acquired by converting HSI into RGB color model. In addition, Three input values of muscular sense were converted into three elements of sound such as octave, scale and velocity, which were synthesized to give an output sound using MIDI(Musical Instrument Digital Interface). The analysis results of both output color and sound signals revealed that input signals of muscular sense were correctly converted into both color and sound in real time by the proposed conversion method.

GPS cannot determine random errors such as multipath and signal cutoff caused by surrounding environment that determines the visibility of satellites and the speed of data creation and transmission is lower than the speed of vehicles, it is difficult to determine accurate dynamic positions. Thus this study purposed to implement a method of deciding the accurate dynamic position of vehicles by combining AHRS (Attitude Heading Reference System) IMU (Initial Measurement Unit) based on low-priced MEMS (Micro Electro Mechanical System) in order to provide the information of attitude, position and speed at a high transmission rate without external help. This study conducted an initialization test to decide dynamic position using AHRS IMU sensor, and derived attitude correction angles of vehicles against time through regression analysis. The roll angle was $y=(A{\times}10^{-6})x^2 -(B{\times}10^{-5})x+Cr{\times}10^{-2}$ and the pitch angle was $y=(A{\times}10^{-6})x^2-(B{\times}10^{-7})x+C{\times}10^{-2}$, each of which was derived from second-degree polynomial regression analysis. It was also found that the heading angle was stabilized with variation less than $1^{\circ}$ after 60 seconds.

It is called self-alignment or initial alignment that INS(Inertial Navigation System) is aligned using the measurements from the inertial sensors as an accelerometer and a gyroscope and the inserted reference navigation information in the stop state. The main purpose of self-alignment is to obtain the initial attitude of INS. The accuracy of self-alignment is determined by the performance grade of the used inertial sensors, especially horizontal attitude accuracy by the horizontal accelerometer and vertical attitude accuracy by the E-axis gyroscope. Therefore the uncertain errors in the inertial sensors cause the performance of self-alignment to degrade. In this paper, we analyze theoretically and through a simulation how the errors of inertial sensors in the temperature stabilizing state, one of the uncertain errors, affect the accuracy of self-alignment.

In this paper, we have described a development of the external instrumentation system of a fighter aircraft for flight test. The external instrumentation system consists of the instrumentation pod and the image pod. The instrumentation pod measures a flight data(attitude, velocity, altitude, etc) of the fighter aircraft by using GPS/AHRS sensor. The image pod takes high-speed images for the separation trajectory of a smart bomb with 2 high-speed cameras and video signal for it with one general camera. We have verified the performance of the external instrumentation system through the ground test, the environment test and the flight test.
