  • The purposes of this study were to develop an electronic-hydraulic draft control system for tractor implements, to investigate the control performance of the system and the possibility of adaptation to the conventional tractor. Experiments were carried out to investigate the responses of the system to the step and sinusoidal inputs in draft control. The effects of control mode, hydraulic flow rate, reference deadband, and proportional constant on control performance of the system were investigated. Moreover, the effects of filtering signals from draft sensor were also investigated. The following conclusions were derived from the study; 1. In draft control, there were hunting problems in controlling the implement without filtering the draft signals. Filtering was performed by a control program of electronic controller and the control performance and stability of the system were improved significantly. 2. For the draft control system operated on on-off control mode, draft was controlled within ${\pm}27-{\pm}55kg_f$ to the reference draft when the hydraulic flow rates were 5-15 l/min. For the draft control system operated on PWM control, draft was controlled within ${\pm}27kg_f$ to the reference draft regardless of hydraulic flow rates. 3. In the frequency responses of the draft control system, control performance on PWM control mode was not better than on on-off control mode because of characteristics of hydraulic valve and drafe sensor. As the hydraulic flow rates increased for the system operated on on-off control mode, the corner frequency of amplitude attenuation increased, but the corner frequency of phase-angle change remained nearly the same. But, the system was unstable beyond the frequency of 3.1 rad/s. 4. The electronic-hydraulic hitch control system developed in this study showed superior control performance, stability and convenience compared to conventional mechanical-hydraulic hitch control system. It is considered to be a superior replacement for the conventional mechanical-hydraulic hitch control system.

  • Objectives : In the present study, we investigated whether or not an herb mixture including Lycii fructus(HML) has attenuation effects on light stress in rats. Methods : Light stress was induced by exposure to 300 lx of constant lifht for 24 h and 1mg/kg of caffeine was injected into the rat. Rats were orally treated with distilled water of HML for 21 days at 100mg/kg/d. The changes of mortality rate, clinical signs, body, blood chemistry, melatonin and IL-2 expression were analyzed after experiment. Results : Normal weight changes were observed in all treatment groups. In addition, no changes were observed in dead animals and general symptoms. At the time of autopsy, the appearance of all groups and gross examination of major organs were observed, and no gross findings were observed. Blood biochemical tests showed that total cholesterol and HDL cholesterol levels were statistically significantly decreased in the group treated with HML compared to the stress-induced group. Melatonin was measured in the blood, but there was no significant difference in the group treated with HML compared to the group with stress-induced group, but it tended to increase. IL-2 was measured in the blood, no significant change was observed in the group treated with HML compared to the stress-induced group. Conclusions : According to the above results, HML maybe help with hematological changes expressed by caffeine and light-induced stress.

  • Start This paper analyzes the propagation characteristics of acoustic signals in indoor environments, which is applicable to indoor positioning system. Indoor stereo sound system is generally valid within $25m^2$. So it is not possible to apply prevalent sound propagation characteristic to indoor positioning system because the prevalent acoustic signals propagation characteristic is defined under free space condition. Therefore, in this paper, we present the propagation characteristics of acoustic signals in indoor environments considering the free space propagation characteristic as well as room characteristic such as humidity, temperature, absorption of atmosphere and so on. To verify the designed propagation model of indoor acoustic signals, this paper presents the propagation characteristics of decreasing sinusoidal signals whose frequencies ate from 1kHz to 20kHz in anechoic room. In addition, this paper also presents the propagation characteristics of decreasing sinusoidal signals which have multiple frequencies.

  • The role of neurohumoral mechanisms in the regulation of cardiovascular functions and the effects of ethanol (EOH) on these mechanisms were examined in hemorrhaged conscious Wistar rats. The rats were bled at a constant rate (2 ml/kg/min) through the femoral artery until mean arterial pressure (MAP) was reduced by 30 mmHg. We studied the responses to hemorrhage 1) under normal conditions (Normal), and after pretreatments with 2) neural blockade (NB), pentolinium, 3) arginine vasopressin V1-receptor antagonist (AVPX) + NB, 4) angiotensin II ATI-receptor antagonist (AngIIX) + NB, 5) combined humoral blockade (HB), and 6) neurohumoral blockade. Intravenous administration of 30% EOH (6.3 ml/kg) attenuated the baroreceptor reflex sensitivity, and enhanced the depressor action of AngIIX. During hemorrhage, NB produced a faster fall ill MAP than Normal both in the saline and EOH groups. However, HB accelerated the rate of fall in MAP only in the EOH group. The recovery from hemorrhagic hypotension was not different between NB and Normal rats, but was attenuated in HB rats in the saline group. Under NB, AngIIX, but not AVPX, retarded the recovery rate compared with NB alone. EOH attenuated the recovery of MAP after hemorrhage in Normal rats, but completely abolished the recovery in HB rats. We conclude that 1) the maintenance of MAP during hemorrhage is mediated almost entirely by the autonomic functions, 2) angiotensin II plays an important role in the recovery from hemorrhagic hypotension, but AVP assumes little importance, 3) AVP release largely depends on the changes in blood volume, whereas renin release depends on the changes in blood pressure rather than blood volume, and 4) EOH increases the dependence of cardiovascular regulation on angiotensin II and impairs the recovery from hemorrhagic hypotension through the attenuation of autonomic functions.

  • In this paper, we have evaluated BER performance of digital subscriber line(DSL) using the twisted-pair channel model by means of Semi-analytic simulation technique. As a result, it was known that the Semi-analytic simulation was proved to be a good technique because of the attenuation of 0.5dB. To keep the BER=10$\^$-7/, 4dB of E$\^$b//N$\^$0/ is needed more when the DSL length extends to 5000m, while 2dB increase of E$\^$b//N$\^$0/ is required when Nyquist frequency goes to 512kb/s with the keeping same distance. In addition, the effect by FEXT noise is serious, when the FEXT noise damping constant, k is over 10/sup-10/ in DSL length and 10$\^$-14/ in the aspect of Nyquist frequency. As the basic, results of this analysis can be used in setting in internal and external standardization of DSL system in the future.

  • The advantage of tide-well system with an intake pipe near the sea floor is that it can record not only tide but also harbour oscillation. tsunami. rapid change of tide height when a storm was causing rapid fluctuations in sea level. Consequently record of harbour oscillation may be extracted from tidal records by removing the predicted tide and then correcting for the attenuation caused by the tide-well system. The response of tide-well with intake pipe to seiche was examined by in situ measurements for Mukho tidal station. The well constant was also computed hydraulically on the basis of the structure of the tide gage system. It has been found that the response coefficient of the Mukho tidal station was 0.01. The tide records can be used for the determination of mean sea levels for surveying purposes. as the response of tide-well system can be estimated.

  • The shooting noise caused by shooting training, which has strength and impacts, is becoming a serious damage to the residents around the shooting range and, consequently, the number of civil appeals against the shooting noise is on the constant increase. For this reason, the military examines the effects of the shooting noise at the stage of design in constructing a shooting range and tries to build a soundproof shooting range to minimize civil appeals. However, the lack of research and data concerning propagation and attenuation, both of which characterize the shooting noise from within a soundproof shooting range, even makes it so difficult to design a soundproof shooting range in constructing it. So this study used an acoustic simulation in a soundproof shooting range to identify acoustic and propagation characteristics within the shooting range and, on this basis, predicted the noise level at an exit of the soundproof shooting range. As a result, if the form and specifications of a soundproof shooting range were decided on at the stage of design, it was possible to use a simulation to design a soundproof shooting range with optimized acoustic performance and, on this basis, to predict a sound pressure level at an exit of the soundproof shooting range. On the basis of these data, it is probably possible to determine the degree of the effects of the shooting noise on the villages around a shooting range and the extent of damage to it and to minimize civil appeals against the shooting noise and resolve the issues of compensation and agreement with ease. This study is expected to provide useful data for designing and constructing a similar soundproof shooting range.

  • In this paper, the characteristics of the inductor and capacitor, which are the basic components of the circuit, are constructed in a form that can be used in the LTCC multilayer. The inductors and capacitors used for the analysis were designed with rectangular spiral structures and MIM structures inside dielectrics with a dielectric constant of 7, respectively. The measured results were extracted from each element of the equivalent circuit proposed by the curve fitting method and verified the validity of the proposed equivalent circuit based on the extracted results. The analyzed inductor and capacitor were implemented in the form of library and proved its usefulness by applying to Elliptical type 5th LPF design. The LPF was measured through practical production, and as a result, the insertion loss in the passband DC ~ 3.7 GHz was up to 1.0 dB, the return loss was 19.2 dB, and the attenuation in the rejection band was 23.9 dB, which was close to the design goal.

  • The study site located in an industrial complex has a Precambrian age gneiss as a bedrock. The poorly-developed, disturbed soils in the study site have loamy-textured surface soil (1 to 2 m) and gravelly sand alluvium subsurface (2 to 6 m) on the top of weathered gneiss bedrock. The depth of the groundwater table was about 3.5 m below ground surface and increased toward down-gradient of the site. The hydraulic conductivity of transmitted zone (gravelly coarse sand) was in the range of 5.0${\times}$10$\^$-2/∼1.85${\times}$10$\^$-1/ cm/sec. The fine sand layer was in the range of 1.5${\times}$10$\^$-3/ to 7.6${\times}$10$\^$-3/ cm/sec. and the reclaimed upper soil layer was less than 10$\^$-4/ cm/sec. Toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylene (TEX) was the major contaminant in the soil and groundwater. The average depth of the soil contamination was about 1.5 m in the gravelly sand alluvium layer. At the depth interval 2.4∼4.8 m, the highest contamination in the soil is located approximately 50 to 70 m from the suspected source areas. The concentration of TEX in the groundwater was highest in the suspected source area and a lesser concentration in the center and southwest parts of the site. The TEX distribution in the groundwater is associated with their distribution in the soil. Microbial isolation showed that Pseudomonas flurescence, Burkholderia cepacia, and Acinetobactor lwoffi were the dominant aerobic bacteria in the contaminated soils. The analytical results of the groundwater indicated that the concentrations of dissolved oxygen (DO), nitrate, and sulfate in the contaminated area were significantly lower than their concentrations in the none-contaminated control area. The results also indicated that groundwater at the contaminated area is under anaerobic condition and sulfate reduction is the predominant terminal electron accepting process. The total attenuation rate was 0.0017 day$\^$-1/ and the estimated first-order degradation rate constant (λ) was 0.0008 day$\^$-1/.

  • This paper gives a electromagnetic coupling mechanism of the high altitude electromagnetic pulse (HEMP) into large- scale underground multilayer structures using analytic and numerical methods. The modeling methods are firstly addressed to the HEMP source which can be generated by intentional nuclear explosion. The instantaneous and intense electromagnetic pulse of the HEMP source is concerned from DC to 100 MHz band, because the power spectrum of the HEMP is rapidly decreased under -30 dB over the 100 MHz band. Through this range, a penetrated electric field distribution is computed within the large-scale underground multilayer structures. As a result, the penetrated electric field intensities at 0.1 and 1 MHz are about 10 and 5 kV/m, respectively. Therefore, additional shielding techniques are introduced to protect buried structures within the large-scale underground structures such as high-lossy material and filtering structures (wire screen).
