Ingested foreign bodies are common occurrences in the pediatric population. From October 2002 to April 2006, eight patients (6 male, mean age: $30.9{\pm}14.4$ months, range: 7~45 months) who had ingested metallic foreign bodies, such as bar magnets, coin-type magnets, screws, metal beads, and disk batteries, were selected for foreign body removal using a magnetic device under floroscopic control. A 1-cm-long cylindrical magnet (6 mm in diameter) was placed at the end of a 150-cm-long plastic tube from an IV set. The magnet was passed through the mouth into the stomach. Under fluoroscopic control, the magnet was maneuvered so that it attached to the metallic foreign bodies. The forgeign body was then easily removed by retracting the magnet with the metallic object attached. This procedure was successful in six patients of 8 patients. This procedure is a minimally-invasive and may avoid the use of anesthesics, endoscopy or surgery.

The CFT(Concrete Filled Tube) system has been developed to behave well in a structural performance such as stiffness, stress, ductility, fire resistance that is derived from its mechanical advantages of composite structure. There were number of studies about unprotected CFT columns for improving their fire resistance through reinforcing bars or plates being placed inside the steel tube. It was also known that reinforcing plates of flat type need stiffeners in a certain distance to avoid their buckling failure so it cost as much as their using consequentially. This paper is planned to test the work of beam elements attached inner side of CFT depending on its shape. More discussions on beam's design could be followed after some fire tests accordingly conducted within this project.

As the digital environment gets ubiquitous, domestic and international research and development on smart clothing is being conducted actively these days. However, most research is being carried out with its center on upper garment. So research on lower garment is insufficient even though it affects wearer's activity and comfort to a great extent when digital devices are attached or wearers moves their body. Therefore, the type of clothes this research proposes is men's formal pants which have an electrically-vibrating wearable device. These are smart pants which are helpful in easing muscle pain with their massaging effect in daily life. For this purpose, this research intends to develop patterns considering the body shapes and movements of wearers and suggest a tentative structure plan for smart pants where a vibration device is attached, which is mainly composed of vibrating motor, controller, and switch, and considered their bulks, numbers, attaching places.

In this paper, the method is used that each system isolates the part in which faults are occurred in case of fault occurrence since total system is designed in the type of hot standby sparing system construction and self-checking circuit in each system is attached to the memory being of the high failure rate in common communication system. Thus reliability and availability in system are improved. In this thesis, self-checking circuit was designed using 2 out of 6 code and didn't have any effect to the system operation. For the purpose of verification, each system attached with self-checking circuit was simulated through fault injection arid the continuity of each system in hot standby sparing system was tested in case that the system was switched when faults in the system were occurred.

The actural condition of rural house polts, houses and their attached facilities was surveyed in CHUNGCHEONGBUK-DO in order to find out existing residential problems. From the data collected, general influencing factors, housing/residential environmental qualities, and farmer's opinion on them were analyzed or obtained as the basic design criteria for future projects. The structural shape of rural housing should be developed on the basis of our traditional one. The materials of wall should be made from soil sourced one. Kitchin room and rest room should be improved in view of the Western style. Residential space should be harmonized our traditional one(reception of a guest preferred) with westernized living space(nuclear family life preferred). The plane planning of 'ㄷ' type would be generally preferred in the block planning of rural housing and attached facilities. Livestock pens and compost houses would be seperated from, while storehouses would be coexisted with a living space.

After radical excision of a tumor in the maxillofacial area, functional and esthetic reconstruction is needed, including flap surgery. Among the many etiologies of flap failure, venous thrombosis is one of the most frequent. Heparin is used routinely in the effort to avoid development of venous thrombosis. In rare cases, heparin-induced thrombocytopenia (HIT) type II occurs due to exposure to heparin. Heparin attached to platelet factor 4 forms a PF4/heparin-immunoglobulin G immune complex on platelet surfaces. This complex activates platelets, which leads to multiple coagulation in venous and arterial blood. We report here on a rare occurrence of HIT type II following fibula free flap surgery.

In many cases, tasks are unpredictable and therefore not doable by special-purpose or pro-programble robots. So master/slave type robot hands which combine human perceptions with conventional robot hands are required as robot end effector. These also can be applied to hazardous worksites such as outer space, deep sea and nuclear power plant. In this study, master/slave type robot fingers with 3 joints each are designed and constructed. To control force accurately, TDT(tension difference type) torque sensors are constructed and attached toeachjoints of slave finger and new force reflecting control algorithm is suggested. Finally, experimental results show that the new control algorithm can be successfully applied.

Sheet deposition type rapid prototyping system have many advantages : high build speed, low operating cost, large part size, no phase change, no need for support generation, and forth. However, those sheet deposition type rapid prototyping system require an additional post processing to remove excessive material attached to the part. This post processing is time consuming and labor intensive. Moreover, it is difficult for those system to fabricate parts with hollow cores and internal cavities. A new sheet deposition type rapid prototyping system that minimizes the post processing is proposed. The proposed system automatically removes excessive material in a peeling-off process between two cutting processes. In this way, the proposed system can reduce the post-processing time and cost as well as the limitation of the feasible geometric shapes in the conventional sheet deposition system.

The purpose of this study was to characterize the attitudes of Net generation customers toward purchasing fashion products or apparels through Cyber communication media. This study targeted 333 individuals aged from 14 to 24 purchasing fashion apparels through the Interned or PC communication. The data were analyzed by using frequency analysis, factor analysis, t-test, ANOVA by SASS package. The results of this study are as follows : 1. Fashion life-style of Net generation is classified into four groups - Fashion attached type, Web entertainment type, Web information type, Web media purchasing type. Net-Generation shows a little preference for brand. 2. As a result of the statistical analysis of each group's demographic variables, price is not so important when purchasing and according to the analysis of age, it proves that twenties are trendier than teenagers. 3. The most significant factor of information search is watching others' clothes and the most popular place for purchase is wholesale mall. Net-Generation has a little intention to purchase through Cyber communication media.

Although the cone type venturi flow meter is superior to another differential pressure type flow meter in precision, the venturi is installed at the pipe as an L beam, so that the dynamic load due to drag force and flow-induced force is generated in the flow meter. In this paper we propose a methodology to evaluate this dynamic load directly by using stain-gages attached on the venturi and we discuss about the dynamic characteristics on the basis of flow-induced vibration theory.
