연성포장용 섬유보강 아스팔트 콘크리트의 피로저항성 (Fatigue Resistance of Fiber-Reinforced Asphalt Concrete in Flexible Pavement)

  • 본 연구는 산업폐기물인 D사의 K 섬유를 사용하여 아스팔트 콘크리트 혼합물의 피로파괴에 대한 저항성 향상의 증진가능성을 평가하고자 수행되었다. 본 연구에서는 MTS사의 CLSS (Closed-Loop Servohydraulic System)와 미국 표준시험법인 ASTM D 4123에 따라 MTS사가 개발한 시험장치를 사용하여 피로시험을 수행하였다. 본 연구 결과에 의하면 적정 섬유첨가량은 전체 혼합물 중량기준 약 0.2%의 길이 8mm 섬유가 가장 우수한 성능을 발휘함을 보였고, 이 때의 적정 아스팔트 함량은 전체 혼합물 중량기준 5.5%로 나타났다. 폐섬유를 재활용하여 생산된 섬유보강 아스팔트 혼합물이 기존의 밀입도 20 아스팔트 혼합물보다 피로파괴에 대한 저항성면에서 월등히 우수한 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 섬유보강 아스팔트 혼합물의 회복 탄성계수값은 일반 밀입도20 아스팔트 혼합물보다 약 $1.15{\sim}1.18$배 높게 평가되었다.

  • This study is a fundamental research for recycling waste vinyl in asphalt concrete mixture for roadway pavement. The mixing method and proper content of waste polyethylene(PE) film were determined through preliminary mix design. This study used 2-type aggregate gradations and two-type waste PE films. The mixtures were applied for a test pavement on a rural road. Quality evaluation of the asphalt concrete confirmed that waste vinyl asphalt concrete was applicable to road pavement.

단열재의 실링재로 사용되는 비닐에스테르 수지 혼합물의 제조 및 물성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Properties and Manufacture of Vinylester Resin Mixtures Used as Sealant of Insulator)

  • Main components of manufactured sealant were vinylester resin, polybutadiene rubber, asphalt and inorganic filler. For manufactured sealant, liquid and cure properties were tested experimantally. It showed better mechanical properties at rubber content $5{\sim}15phr$. Blown asphalt represented better properties than streight asphalt, showed the highest cohesive strength at asphalt content $6{\sim}8phr$. Appropriate usage of filler was $60{\pm}2%$ of total components, and $Al(OH)_3$ showed better flame-retardancy than $CaCO_3$.

  • 본 연구에서는 아스팔트 함량 변화에 따라서 중성자 계측수가 어떻게 변화되는가를 계산하여 법적 규제 면제치인 $100[{\mu}Ci]$이하의 방사성동위원소를 이용한 아스팔트 함량측정기의 기본 설계 자료로 활용하고자한다. 이를 위하여 1차 년도에서 실시했던 설계자료를 활용하여 아스팔트 함량의 변화에 따라 중성자 계측수가 어떻게 증감이 이루어지고, 또한 감속재인 폴리에틸렌 주변에 흡수체인 카드늄판을 설치했을 때의 계측수의 변화를 MCNP 코드를 이용하여 살펴보았다.

스프레이 패칭 긴급보수용 개질 유화 아스팔트와 100% 순환골재를 사용한 상온 아스팔트 혼합물의 성능 평가 (Performance Evaluation of 100% RAP Asphalt Mixtures using Rapid-Setting Polymer-Modified Asphalt Emulsion for Spray Injection Application)

  • PURPOSES: The objective of this study was to determine the optimum ratio of mix design, for a reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) content of 100%, for spray injection application. METHODS: A literature review revealed that spray injection is an efficient and cost-effective application for fixing small defective regions of an asphalt pavement. Rapid-setting polymer-modified asphalt mixtures prepared from two types of rapid-setting polymer asphalt emulsion were subjected to Marshall stability and wet track abrasion tests, in order to identify the optimum mix designs. RESULTS and CONCLUSIONS : Different mix designs of type A and type B emulsions were prepared using RAP and virgin aggregates, in order to compare the performance and determine the optimum mix design. The performance of mixtures prepared with RAP was superior to that of mixtures containing virgin aggregates. Moreover, for optimum ratio of the design, the binder content prepared from RAP was set to 1~2% lower than that consisting of virgin aggregates. Compared to their Type A counterparts, type B mixtures consisting of a reactive emulsion performed better in the Marshall stability and wet track abrasion tests. The initial results confirmed the advantages associated with using RAP for spray injection applications. Further studies will be performed to verify the difference in the optimum mix design and performance obtained in the lab-scale test and tests conducted at the job site by using the spray injection machine.

DataPave 프로그램을 이용한 포장파손예측모델개발 (Development of Pavement Distress Prediction Models Using DataPave Program)

  • 포장의 공용성에 영향을 미치는 주요파손은 소성변형, 피로균열, 종단평탄성이다. 따라서 이들 세가지 파손량에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 분석하고 예측모델을 개발하는 것이 포장의 공용성 관리면에서 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 미국에서 개발되어 다양한 포장구간에 대한 광범위한 데이터가 축적되어 있는 DataPave 프로그램을 이용하여 세가지 파손량과 각각에 영향을 미치는 인자들을 추출한 후 파손 예측모델을 개발하였다. 개발된 모델의 입력변수들이 각각의 파손량에 미치는 영향을 파악하기 위해 민감도분석을 수행하였다. 소성변형 예측모델의 민감도분석결과 아스팔트함량, 공극율, 노상의 최적함수비가 주요영향인자로 나타났으며, 피로균열예측모델의 경우 아스팔트점도, 아스팔트함량, 공극율 순으로 나타났다. 종단평탄성 예측모델 분석결과 아스팔트점도, 노상골재의 200번체 통과율, 아스팔트함량 순으로 영향을 미치는 것을 알 수 있었다.

무기질 첨가제를 사용한 상온 재활용 아스팔트 혼합물의 공용성 평가 (Performance Evaluation of Cold-Recycling Asphalt Mixtures with an Inorganic Additive)

  • PURPOSES : The purpose of this study is to estimate the optimum content of an inorganic additive for cold-recycled asphalt mixtures and evaluate its performance. METHODS : An indirect tensile test, a tensile-strength ratio test, and an indirect tensile-fatigue test were conducted on cold-recycling asphalt mixtures with various additives. RESULTS : The laboratory performance tests indicated that granulated blast-furnace slag mixed with inorganic and cement activators provided optimum performance. The performance results of the cold-recycled asphalt pavement were similar to the inorganic and cement activators' performance in terms of the indirect tensile strength, tensile strength ratio, and indirect tensile-fatigue test. CONCLUSIONS : Overall, the performance of a cold-recycled asphalt mixture using inorganic additives and emulsion asphalt was comparable to a warm-recycled asphalt mixture. However, more experiments aimed at improving its performance and studying the effect of the inorganic additives must be conducted.

폴리머 개질 아스팔트 콘크리트의 푸아송비에 관한 실험적 연구 (Evaluation of Poisson's Ration of Polymer-Modified Asphalt Concretes)

  • This study was performend to examine Poisson's ration of polymer-modified asphalt concrete due to temperature variatino . Asphalt binder used in this study was an AC85-100, penetration grade of 85-100, and polymer for modifying asphalt were domestic LDPE(Low-density polyethylene) and SBS(Styrene-butadiene-styrene). Aggregate was a crushed gneiss which was most widely used in the middle part of Korea. Using these materias, asphalt mixture slab(340mm$\times$240mm$\times$80mm) with optimum asphalt content from mix design was made and cut into square pillar (80mm$\times$80mm$\times$160mm). Poisson's ration was measured in various temperture (-15$^{\circ}C$, -1$0^{\circ}C$, -5$^{\circ}C$,$0^{\circ}C$,5$^{\circ}C$,1$0^{\circ}C$ and 2$0^{\circ}C$) under the load of one axis repeated compression mode. Poisson's ration of normal asphalt polymer modified asphalt mixtures in normal temperatures. This indicated that AP mixture was more susceptible to temperature effects. From regression aalysis of experimental results, the difference of Poisson's ration between normal and low temperature showed that polymer modified asphalt mixture were lower than AP mixture except for SBS modified asplat mixture.

무시멘트 첨가제를 활용한 상온 재활용 아스팔트 혼합물의 성능 분석 (Performance Evaluation of Cold Recycled Asphalt Mixtures with Asphalt Emulsion and Inorganic Additives)

  • PURPOSES :The objective of this study is to evaluate the performance of asphalt mixtures containing inorganic additive and a high content of reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP). METHODS : The laboratory tests verified the superior laboratory performance of inorganic additive compared to cement, in cold recycled asphalt mixtures. To investigate the moisture susceptibility of the specimens, tensile strength ratio (TSR) tests were performed. In addition, dynamic modulus test was conducted to evaluate the performance of cold recycled asphalt mixture. RESULTS :It was determined that NaOH solution mixed with $Na_2SiO_3$ in the ratio 75:10 provides optimum performance. Compared to Type B and C counterparts, Type A mixtures consisting of an inorganic additive performed better in the Indirect tensile strength test, tensile strength ratio test, and dynamic modulus test. CONCLUSIONS : The use of inorganic additive enhances the indirect strength and dynamic modulus performance of the asphalt mixture. However, additional experiments are to be conducted to improve the reliability of the result with respect to the effect of inorganic additive.
