인공지능을 활용한 초음파영상진단장치에서 초음파 팬텀 영상을 이용한 정도관리의 정량적 평가방법 연구 (A Study on the Quantitative Evaluation Method of Quality Control using Ultrasound Phantom in Ultrasound Imaging System based on Artificial Intelligence)

  • Ultrasound examination using ultrasound equipment is an ultrasound device that images human organs using sound waves and is used in various areas such as diagnosis, follow-up, and treatment of diseases. However, if the quality of ultrasound equipment is not guaranteed, the possibility of misdiagnosis increases, and the diagnosis rate decreases. Accordingly, The Korean Society of Radiology and Korea society of Ultrasound in Medicine presented guidelines for quality management of ultrasound equipment using ATS-539 phantom. The DenseNet201 classification algorithm shows 99.25% accuracy and 5.17% loss in the Dead Zone, 97.52% loss in Axial/Lateral Resolution, 96.98% accuracy and 20.64% loss in Sensitivity, 93.44% accuracy and 22.07% loss in the Gray scale and Dynamic Range. As a result, it is the best and is judged to be an algorithm that can be used for quantitative evaluation. Through this study, it can be seen that if quantitative evaluation using artificial intelligence is conducted in the qualitative evaluation item of ultrasonic equipment, the reliability of ultrasonic equipment can be increased with high accuracy.

인공신경망을 이용한 기계식 판막의 생체외 모의 혈전현상 검출 (In-Vitro Thrombosis Detection of Mechanical Valve using Artificial Neural Network)

  • 기계식 판막은 매몰식 인공장기에 널리 사용돼 왔으며, 판막의 이상은 환자의 죽음으르 의미한다. 판막의 이상에 영향을 미치는 것은 많은 요소들이 있는데 대표적으로 기계적인 고장과 혈전현상이 있다. 그래서 비침습적으로 이것들을 발견하는 것이 필요하게 된 것이다. 이 논문의 목적은 스펙트럼의 해석과 인공신경망을 이용하여 혈전현상을 발견하는데 있다. 신호의 측정은 공압식 좌심실 보조장치에 장착한 기계식 판막으로부터 마이크로폰과 증폭기를 이용하였다. 디스크 위의 모의 혈전현상과 봉합링의 주위에 혈전현상, 20%, 40% 60%로 자라나는 혈전현상은 펠레세인과 실리콘을 이용하여 제작하였다. 기초 성능 평가를 위해 1KHz 정현파를 인가하여 시스템을 평가하였으며, 정상적인 판막과 5 종류의 혈전현상의 스펙트럼은 혈전현상의 정보를 지닌 개폐시 peak의 신호 파형에서 구하였다. 데이터의 정량적인 해석을 위해 7,000개의 입력 노드와 20개의 은닉층과 1개의 출력층으로 이루어진 인공신경망을 사용하였다. 결론적으로 훈련된 인공신경망을 사용한 결과 정상 판막과 비정상 판막을 판단하는데 90%의 판단능력을 보였다. 이상의 실험을 통해 판막의 이상유무를 신호의 스펙트럼 해석과 인공신경망을 통해 평가할수 있음을 알 수 있었다. 본 논문의 결과는 앞으로 인공장기를 몸속에 지니고 있는 환자에게서 장기의 상태를 지속적으로 감시할 수 있는 기술적 토대를 제공할 것이다.

Frog-inspired programmable nano-architectures for skin patches and medical applications

  • Nanoscale observation of attachment systems of animals has revealed various exquisite multiscale architectures for essential functions such as gecko's locomotion, beetles' wing fixation, octopuses' sucking and crawling. In particular, the hierarchical 3-dimensional hexanonal nano-architectures in the tree frog's adhesion is known to have the capability of the enhancement of adhesion forces on the wet or rough surfaces due to the conformal contacts against rough surfaces and water-drainable micro channels. Here, we report that tree frog-inspired patches using unique artificial 3-dimensional hexagonal structures can be exploited to form reversibly enhanced adhesion against various highly curved and rough surfaces in dry and wet condition. To investigate the adhesion effect of micro-channels, we changed the arrangement of microstructure and spacing gaps between micro-channels. In addition, we introduced the 3-dimensional hexagonal hierarchical architectures to artificial patches to enhance to conformal contacts on the various rough surfaces such as skin and organs. Using the robust adhesion properties, we demonstrated the self-drainable and comfortable skin-attachable devices which can measure EKG (electrokardiogramme) for in-vitro diagnostics. As a result, bio-inspired programmable nano-architectures can be applied in versatile devices such as, medical patches, skin-attachable electronics etc., which would shed light on future smart, directional and reversible adhesion systems.

Improvement of Two-Stage Centrifugal Blood Pump for Cardiopulmonary Support System and Evaluation of Anti-Hemolysis Performance

  • In cardiopulmonary support systems with a membrane oxygenation such as a percutaneous cardiopulmonary support (PCPS) or an extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), blood pumps need to generate the pressure rise of approximately 200mmHg or higher, due to the high hydraulic resistances of the membrane oxygenation and of the cannula tubing. In order to realize the blood pump with higher pressure rise, higher anti-hemolysis and thrombosis performances, the development of novel centrifugal blood pump composed of two-stage has been conducted by the authors. In the present paper, effective attempts to decrease the wall shear stress and to suppress the stagnation are introduced for the prevention of hemolysis and thrombosis in blood pumps. The hemolysis test was also carried out and it was clarified that the decrease of wall shear stress is effective as a guideline of design of blood pumps for improving the anti-hemolysis performance.

누에의 人工飼料 組成分中의 炭水化物源에 關한 硏究 (Studies on the Carbohydrate-resources among the Composition of Artificial Diet for for the Silkworm, Bombyx mori L.)

  • 누에 人工飼科資源으로 適合한 炭水化物源과 澱粉分解酸素의 活性을 調査하기 위하여 8種의 澱粉을 各各 누에 人工飼科에 添加하여 調劑한 飼科로 누에를 飼育하면서 主要形質과 蠶體內 組織, 器官의 amylase電氣泳動像을 調査한 結果를 다음과 같이 要約한다. 1. 澱粉種類에 따른 누에의 實用形質은 쌀, 보리 및 조澱粉이 比較的 良好한 것으로 나타났다. 2. 누에의 人工飼科用 澱粉源은 純度를 높이기 위한 處理를 加하지 않아도 無妨할 것으로 생각되며 澱粉의 添加量은 乾物重으로 12~18%範圍가 適當한 것 같다. 3. amylase의 電氣泳動像은 蠶品種이나 澱粉의 種類에 關係없이 體液에는 3個活性帶, 中腸에는 4個活性帶 絹絲腺에는 2個活性帶가 各各 同一型으로 나타났고 消化液에는 活性帶가 認定되지 않았다. 그리고 澱粉添加量 18% 및 無添加區에서는 體液의 amylase活性帶에 變化가 誘發되었다.

  • 기저막은 달팽이관의 한 기관으로서 주파수 대역에 따라 기저막의 최대 진폭 발생 위치가 변화하여 소리를 인지할 수 있게 되며 이는 기저막의 형상에 기인한다. 본 연구에서는 인공기저막 기반의 완전 삽입형 인공와우 개발을 위한 연구의 일환으로써 주파수 분리 대역폭을 보다 확장시킬 수 있는 기저막의 형상을 제안하기 위해 설계 인자 연구를 수행하였다. 상용 유한요소소프트웨어 Abaqus 를 이용한 유한요소 해석을 통해 인공기저막의 음향 진동 특성을 예측하였으며 해석결과는 실험결과와 비교하여 검증하였다. 기저막 모델의 다양한 형상 변화와 기저막 모델에 존재하는 잔류응력에 따른 주파수 분리 대역의 변화 추이를 설계 인자 연구를 통하여 제시하였다.

  • This paper reveals the utilization of the multi-gent system that based on the Blackboard system basis as the controller of Soccer Robot. This system is a portion of developing the Soccer Robot team for Robocup 2004 Competition. In this development, the intelligent control system was initiated by the combination of parallel and distributed blackboard structures with the principle design that generated from human body structures, which consists of the combination of two main systems, the organs system and the brain system. The system is designed using the control system theory based on Blackboard basis. Modification of the initial structures to corroborate the Soccer Robot and the structure's constituents are clarified accordingly. To demonstrate the idea, ITE-old team is given as a case study.

  • Cardiopulmonary arrest has long been accepted as an unquestionable definition of death. An advent of cardiopulmonary resuscitation and artificial ventilation along with the development of organ transplantation has prompted the emergence of the concept of brain death. The criteria for brain death are based mainly on the clinical examination of coma, apnea and total loss of brain stem function. Although organ transplantation by donor brain death has increased in Korea over recent years, there is still a substantial shortage of donor organs compared to the demand. Improvement of government policies and changes of social culture for organ donation are needed for the activation of organ transplantation by donor brain death. Pediatricians have an important role for the search of potential donors in cases of brain death and optimal medical care for successful organ transplantation.

  • Recently, the study on development of electrical and electronic device is done to get miniature, high degrees of integration and efficiency by using inorganic materials. the study of Langmuir-Boldgett(LB) method that uses organic materials because of the limitation for the ultrasmall size. 고분자 표면의 혈관내피세포 부착력에 관한 연구 (Evaluation of Endothelial Cell Attachment on Polymer Surface)

  • To improve antithrombogenicity of polymer that used in vascular graft and artificial organs, seeding of human endothelial cells on the polyurethane was studied. Human endothelial cells were ismlated from human umbilical veins, using type I collagenase, and identified with goat anti vWF antibodies. Human endothilial cell seeding was tried upon the polyurethane which has good mechanical property and resists stresses. The hydrophobic polyurethane surface was changed hydrophilic by corona discharf:e treatment. Surface hydrophilicity was measured with Wilhemly plate method and the goniometer. To evaluate matrix protein adsorption, fibronectin adsorption test was done. To eveluate cell adhesion, human endothelial cell attachment forces were measured rising a perfusion chamber of , ism diamter. Less cells were detached from the hydrophilically treated polyurethane. This showed that corona discharge on the polyurethane could improve matrix adsorption and endothelial cell attachment.
