Background: Russian sturgeon (Acipenser gueldenstaedtii) is an emerging candidate species in the Korean aquaculture domain owing to its highly valued caviar. Although the embryonic development of this species was previously described, the complete image data on the morphological differentiation of developing embryos have not been yet fully available. Further, with the viewpoint of larval production in hatchery, the effects of temperature on embryonic viability and the temporal window of hatching event have not been extensively studied. Hence, the objective of this study was to provide a complete set of photographic image data on the embryogenesis and also to examine the effects of incubation temperatures on embryonic viability and hatching event in farm-bred Russian sturgeon. Results: Typical characteristics of embryonic development including uneven, holoblastic cleavages with unequal blastomeres, followed by the formation of germ layer, neurulation, and organogenesis until hatching, were documented. Under different temperature conditions (12, 16, or $20^{\circ}C$), viability of embryos incubated at $12^{\circ}C$ was significantly lower as relative to those of 16 and $20^{\circ}C$ incubated embryos. Hatchability of embryos was higher, and the timing of hatching event was more synchronized at $20^{\circ}C$ than at 12 and $16^{\circ}C$. Conclusion: Data from this study suggest that the incubation of Russian sturgeon embryos at $20^{\circ}C$ would be desirable in the hatchery practice with respect to the good hatchability of embryos and the synchronization of hatching events. Additionally, the updated image data for complete embryonic development could be a useful reference guide for not only developmental researches but also artificial propagation of Russian sturgeon in farms.
This study was conducted to determine whether the difference in egg hatching temperature of Korea Reeves' turtle (Mauremys reevesii) at the artificial nursery of Seoul National Grand Park affects the incubation period and growth. A total of 201 eggs were incubated at 26 ℃ (n=89), 28 ℃ (n=75) and 32 ℃ (n=37). The incubation period of eggs showed significant differences according to the hatching temperature. In this study, the higher the hatching temperature, the higher the hatching rate. The incubation period of the eggs hatched at 26 ℃, 28 ℃ and 32 ℃ was 66.1 (±4.0, n = 52) days, 65.3 (±3.3, n = 44) days and 58.8 (±7.7, n = 31) days, respectively. Eggs incubated at 32 ℃ (83.8%) had a higher hatching success than those at 26 ℃ (58.4%) and 28 ℃ (58.7%). The body mass of 14-day-old hatchlings incubated at 32 ℃ was greater than those incubated at 26 ℃ and 28 ℃. However, there was no significant difference in the mean body mass of 180 and 270-day-old turtles hatched at these different temperatures. This study showed that the hatching temperature significantly affected the incubation period and body mass in the early life of the Korea Reeves' turtle (M. reevesii).

Objective: The goal of this study was to ascertain optimal assisted hatching (AH) method in frozen embryo transfer. We compared the effect of depending on whether mechanical or laser-AH was performed before or after the vitrification of embryo development rate and blastocyst cell numbers. Methods: In order to induce superovulation, pregnant mare's serum gonadotropin followed by human chorionic gonadotropin were injected into 4- to 5-week-old female mice. 2-cell embryos were then collected by flushing out the oviducts. The Expanded blastocysts were recovered after the collected embryos were incubated for 48 hours, and were then subjected to artificial shrinkage (AS) and cross-mechanical AH (cMAH) or quarter-laser zona thinning-AH (qLZT-AH) were carried out using the expanded blastocysts before or after vitrification. After 48 hours of incubation, followed by vitrification and thawing (V-T), and blastocysts were fluorescence stained and observed. Results: The rate of formation of hatched blastocysts after 24 and 72 hours of incubation was significantly higher in the AS/qLZT-AH/V-T group than in the other groups (p<0.05). The cell number of the inner cell mass was higher in AS/V-T/non-AH and AS/V-T/cMAH groups than those of others (p<0.05). In the control group, the number of trophectoderm and the total cell number were higher than in the AS-AH group (p<0.05). Conclusion: The above results suggest that AS and AH in vitrification of expanded blastocysts lead to the more efficient formation of hatched blastocysts in mice.
Studies were carried out to investigate the phenotypic characteristics of the non-molting mutant (nm-f) which was mapped on the 2nd linkage group. The results obtained were as follows : The nm-f mutant was distinguishable in the 3rd day of hatching. About 80 percentage of the non-molting mutant larvae died at the first instar within 10 days of hatching. The remaining larvae survived to the 2nd ad the 3rd instar but did not live to the final instar. There was no difference in non-molting nutant manifestation between hibernating and artificial hatching eggs. As a result of hemolymph protein analysis, the protein content on nm-f mutant was less than the normal larvae's. Therefore, we conclude that the characterization of nm-f is similar to the already known strains of non-molting mutant and the shortage of hemolymph protein is closely related to the non-molting characteristic in nm-f.
This experiments were carried out to know hatching power on treatments of cold temperature and hydrochioric acid Iron Late January to Early February. Used silkworm variety was Jam 103${\times}$ Jam 104 laying in Spring. The results may be summarized as follows: 1. The resting of silkworm eggs activated to Late January, to longer cold treatment was, the more effects of activating increased completely. So activated eggs were possible to incubation. 2. How to the light or short hours of hycrochloric acid were compare with heavy or long each other, it was inclined that the former seems to be worse than the latter. 3. On the interaction of cold treatments and hydrochloric acid, in case of short cold treatment, hatching power was better effect all treatments of hydrochloric acid than control, but no difference between specific gravity or treatment hours. On tile contrary, in case of more longer of cold treatments, hatching power depended not only upon the specific gravity, but also upon the treatment hours.
The aim of this study was to compare the efficacy of cryopreservation methods for ex situ conservation of spermatozoa from far eastern catfish, Silurus asotus. The spermatozoa activity index (SAI) and hatching rates were higher in spermatozoa stored in Alserver's solution than those of spermatozoa stored in glucose solution. The SAI and hatching rates in all experimental groups gradually decreased with increasing duration of storage. Additionally, the SAI and hatching rates gradually decreased with increasing thawing temperatures at all storage durations (P<0.05). Based on the SAI and hatching rates, our results suggest that the optimal cryopreservation conditions of catfish spermatozoa involve storage in Alserver's solution with 15% ethylene glycol, and thawing at $25^{\circ}C$. Cryopreservation of spermatozoa is a useful and reliable technique for conserving gene resources and for artificial propagation of far eastern catfish.

The eggs are incubated for 18 days through the generator and incubated in the developing incubator. During the developmental period, the weight loss of the fetus is correlated with the ventricular formation, and the proper ventricular formation is also associated with the healthy embryonic hatching and the egg hatching rate. However, in the incubator period of the domestic hatchery, it is a reality to acquire the resultant side by the Iranian standard weight measurement with the experience of the hatchery and the person concerned and the development period without the apparatus for measuring the present weight. As a result, prevalence of early mortality, hunger and illness during hatching are frequent. Monitoring the reduction of weaning weight is crucial to obtaining chick quality and hatching performance with weight changes within the development machine. Water loss is different depending on the size of eggs, egg shell, and elder group. We can expect to increase the hatching rate by measuring the weight change in real time and optimizing the ventilation change accordingly. There is a need to develop a real-time measurement system that can control 10 to 13% reduction of the total weight during hatching. The system through this study is a way to check the one - time directly when moving the existing egg, and it is impossible to control the measurement of the fetal water evaporation within the development period. Unlike systems that do not affect the hatching rate, four load cells are connected in parallel on the Arduino sketch board and the AT-command command is used to connect the mobile phone and computer in real time. The communication speed of Bluetooth was set to 15200 to match the communication speed of Arduino and Hyper-terminal program. The real - time monitoring system was designed to visually check the change of the weight of the fetus in the artificial incubator. In this way, we aimed to improve the hatching rate and health condition of the hatching eggs.
In order to developed the techniques for artificial seedling production of geoduck clam, Panope japonica, various stimulution for spawning induction and hatching condition were studied. Spawning induction by the air day or UV-irradiation stimulus were not effective. Water temperature stimulus was responsed 15.0~25.0% in May and 10.0% in June. But spawning induction by the gonad incision was highest with 15.0~45.0%. Ammonium hydroxide (NH4OH) stimulus adding in seawater were responsed 15.0% at 8/1000N~10/1000N, and ammonium hyhroxide solution injected in the gonads were responsed 5.0~10.0% at 5/100N~7/100N. The highest fertilization and hatching rate at various water temperature were ranged 74.5~89.2% in 11~$17^{\circ}C, \;84.3~89.5%\;in\;8~14^{\circ}C$, respectively. the highest fertilization rate and hatching rate in various salinity were ranged 72.5~88.5% in 25~$35tetperthousand$, 82.7~86.9% in 30~$35tetperthousand$, respectively. The optimum water temperature and salinity for fertilization and hatching to the 11~14$^{\circ}C$ and 30~$35tetperthousand$, respectively.
The marine ornamental industry has become a multi-billion dollar industry these days. As developing, however, this industry has been criticized for the indiscriminate captures and the destruction of the surrounding environment. To circumvent these problems, it is suggested to breed the organisms artificially. While clownfishes Amphiprion sp. and Premnas sp. are the most famous ornamental organisms in the trade, few studies are yet available on the culture and commercial production of these fishes. These studies were performed to investigate the spawning periodicity, behavior and the habits during egg incubation, and to provide the information on the mass hatching system. The spawning periodicity and frequency were different in 4 pairs under the constant condition, temperature, salinity and photoperiod. On the contrary, the male's behaviors for egg incubation are almost same in the all. The egg-fanning activity of the male increased as the developing eggs reaching to the hatching day. Based on the above results, we designed a new artificial hatching system, the rotating type (RT), and compared it with the aeration type (AT) and spray type (ST) that were previously described. RT showed higher hatching rate of 87.3% than AT (74.4%) and ST (60.5%). Also, there were no significant differences in the hatching rate regardless of the number (2, 3, 5) of hatching plates. We suggest RT may accommodate various number of hatching plates and constitute a better hatching system for clownfishes.

The present study was performed to investigate the efficacy and safety of laser assisted hatching (AH) on mouse embryos. Non-contact $1.48{\mu}m$ diode laser system used to create a precise hole on zona pellucida. 2-cell embryos were collected from the mice (ICR) that had the coitus vaginal plug confirmed at 48 hours after hCG injection. Collected 2-cell embryos were cultured in the HTF medium supplemented with 0.4% BSA. For experiments, embryos at 8-cell stage were used after 18-22 hours in culture. After assisted hatching, the embryos were further cultured in HTF medium containing 0.1% PVP (anti-hatching system) for 3 days. For evaluate efficiency of laser on mouse embryo hatching, the effect of AH methods (acidic tyrode, pronase and laser), the number of artificial holes (1, 2 and 3 hole) and the irradiation time of laser (2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 ms) were examined. Hatching rates of laser AH group (95.2%) was significantly higher than that of control group (50.8%), but there was no differences among the laser (95.2%), acidic tyrode (100%) and pronase (98.5%) groups. Hatching rates of the number of zona pellucida opening by laser, there were no differences among the 1 hole (87.5%),2 hole (92.1%) and 3 hole (85.9%) groups. Developmental and hatching rates of embryos according to laser irradiation time were similar in the treatment groups. Therefore, these results suggest that laser AH using non-contact $1.48{\mu}m$ diode laser is a simple and accurate and effective procedure for AH. Based on these results, laser AH could be use safely for human ART program.
