  • The three-dimensional MT(Magneto-Telluric) modeling is performed to examine the validity of difference arrow of GDS(Geomagnetic Depth Sounding) survey, In this paper, we investigate the validity of the difference arrow on three configurations of conductors; which is located 1) at surface, 2) at the deep part and 3) vertically extended f개m surface to the deep part, respectively, For conductors located at surface, the validity of difference arrows is certified in our numerical model when long periods over 40 minutes are used or the distance between sea and conductor is over 150 km. However, for conductors located at the deep part, the validity of difference arrow is dependent on the size of conductors. Further, if the size of conductor is adequately larger than that of our model, we recognize the possibility that the mutual coupling of them influences up to longer periods, Moreover, in case of conductors which is vertically extended from surface to the deer part, the mutual coupling of them is reinforced for all periods, especially for longer periods, so that the validity of difference arrow is considerably in doubt. Therefore, to remove the known conductor effect such as the sea effect from the observed induction arrow, the mutual coupling between them must be examined. The difference arrow that certifies the validity in this way can only provide the Subsurface information based on physical supports.

  • This paper, a basic study on the restoration of arrow quivers during the Three Kingdoms Period, aimed to contribute details to the existing plan to restore the arrow quivers. The arrow quivers of the Three Kingdoms Period consist of a pouch for holding arrows and a backpiece. However, the two parts do not remain, and only metal parts have been excavated. The excavated arrow quivers were classified into three types for restoration. Centered on the pouch, the quivers were classified into type 1 made up of a W-shaped part and ㄷ-shaped part, and type 2 with only the band-shaped piece identified. Type 3 is similar to type 2, but it is assumed to be a separate type where an iron band extending from the hanging piece(吊手金具) is connected to a band-shaped piece. Before proposing a restoration plan for the three types of arrow quivers, the location of the hanging piece (吊手金具) and the observation of organic matter were reflected. In addition, such details as the location of the hanging piece (吊手金具), which cannot be identified by the excavation status alone, were derived from the ways of wearing the arrow quivers observed in the Joseon Dynasty, Shosoin (正倉院), and Haniwa (埴輪) in Japan. Referring to the existing record on the transformation of arrow quivers based on the hanging piece (吊手金具), the arrow quivers change from type 1 to types 2 and 3 in this paper. However, some of types 2 and 3 maintain the ways of wearing of type 1, and there were cases where the old-fashioned parts were kept. In particular, in Haman (咸安), it was confirmed that the typical type 1 was buried up until late periods.

  • The purpose of this study is visualizing climate change contents from Weather Research and Forecasting model and providing useful tool to anyone who want to use them for communication and actual movement. As a results, we have built a process and user interface for publishing Arrow KML, BWS KML, and DI KML. Arrow KML provide wind rose service and wind attribute information for each arrow. BWS KML provide a wind power index and DI KML provide a thermal comfort. All KML contents are more reliable because those are visualized from the scientifically verified climate change prediction model. Further study will focus on searching for climate change contents mining and useful contents design for wide range of climate change mitigation/adaptation activity.

  • ${\Delta}-moves$ are closely related with a Vassiliev invariant of degree 2. For classical knots, M. Okada showed that the second coefficients of the Conway polynomials of two knots differ by 1 if the two knots are related by a single ${\Delta}-move$. The first author extended the Okada's result for virtual knots by using a Vassiliev invariant of virtual knots of type 2 which is induced from the Kauffman polynomial of a virtual knot. The arrow polynomial is a generalization of the Kauffman polynomial. We will generalize this result by using Vassiliev invariants of type 2 induced from the arrow polynomial of a virtual knot and give a lower bound for the number of ${\Delta}-moves$ transforming $K_1$ to $K_2$ if two virtual knots $K_1$ and $K_2$ are related by a finite sequence of ${\Delta}-moves$.

  • After heated discussion, National Police Agency decided not to install Red Arrow signal at such major intersections as Gwanghwamoon, Sejongro. The major issues can be summarized in the following reasons. The one is the conflict of color and symbol (red means STOP and arrow means PROGRESS), and it would confuse drivers and may cause traffic accident. The other includes high replacement cost. This paper delivered how much red arrow signal would affect (1) drivers start up delay time, (2) saturation flow rate and (3) vehicle headway. The result showed that there was no statistical difference in those even when a red arrow signal is placed.

  • The influence of addition of arrow(Pueraria hirsuta Matsum) root flour and its fractions by ultrafiltration on the flow properties of the rice flour-water systems were investigated. The flow properties of rice flour pastes during cold storage$(5^{\circ}C)$ were measured and the components from arrow root flour responsible for changes of flow properties were screened. Addition of arrow root flour significantly changed the flow properties of rice flour pastes. Permeate fractions by ultrafiltration, representing low molecular weight component fraction, significantly affected the flow property of rice flour paste stored at $5^{\circ}C$. Addition of permeate fraction to rice flour pastes rapidly decreased the consistency index, yield stress and pseudoplasticity, and showed a stability of flow property during storage suggesting the retardation of rice starch retrogradation. Permeate fractions of ultrafiltration were identified as puerarin, daidzein and daidzin known to representive isoflavonoid from arrow root.

  • Objective: This study aimed to investigate how the movements occurring during the follow-through phase after releasing an arrow among elite compound archers, are associated with the arrow impact points on the target. Method: Nine elite archers performed consecutive compound archery shooting under conditions identical to actual competitions using their own bows and equipment. Motion capture system and force platform were utilized to record the changes in joint positions and center of pressure, respectively. Principal component analysis was employed to identify the patterns in which multidimensional joint positions and COP changes were organized with horizontal and vertical coordinates of arrow impact points. Subsequently, correlation analysis quantified the relationship between individual variables and the coordinates of arrow impacts on the target. Results: We found a common organizational pattern in which the two axes of the impact point coordinates were grouped into the first two principal components. The movements of the upper and lower limbs following release exhibited opposite patterns in the anterior-posterior axis, with significant correlations observed between the arrow impact points of the horizontal axis and the left shoulder, right elbow, left hip, and both knees. Additionally, the lateral movements induced by the reaction force upon arrow release showed significant associations with the vertical coordinates of the impact points. Particularly, the correlations between the movements of the left shoulder and elbow, as well as the bilateral hip and right knee, were consistently observed among all participants. Conclusion: These findings implied that the post-release movements could significantly influence the trajectory and impact points of the arrows in compound archery. We suggest that a consistent and controlled movement during the follow-through phase may be more beneficial for optimizing shooting accuracy and precision rather than minimizing movements.

  • The purpose of this study is to navigate to the desired direction for the figure of number line through the extensive analysis of number line in middle school textbooks and literatures. For the efficient achievement of this purpose, three research questions were posed as follows: First, we compare the figures of number line in textbooks of Korea and other countries. Korean math textbooks mark the arrow on both sides of number line. But, however, coordinate plane was marked with arrow on only positive direction of number line. In contrast, the majority of secondary school textbooks in several foreign countries has the arrow only on positive direction. Second, the change in the figure of number line has been analyzed historically from two perspectives. From the first to 2007-revised curriculum, math textbooks of Korea were analyzed. Since the 6th curriculum, the number of textbooks with arrows on both sides has increased sharply. That is, textbooks with one arrow almost have disappeared. It is strange that any explanation for this abrupt change can't be found. The following analysis was also performed on published foreign literatures since Descartes. There was no arrow in the early figures of number line. But after 19th century, number lines with one arrow have begun to appear. Third, based on the previous study, we propose a reasonable way for the figure of number line. In fact, we claim that, in terms of linguistic symbols, the number line should be with only one arrow on positive side.
