실시간 속기 자막 환경에서 멀티미디어 정보 검색을 위한 Prefix Array (The Prefix Array for Multimedia Information Retrieval in the Real-Time Stenograph)

  • This paper proposes an algorithm and its data structure to support real-time full-text search for the streamed or broadcasted multimedia data containing real-time stenograph text. Since the traditional indexing method used at information retrieval area uses the linguistic information, there is a heavy cost. Therefore, we propose the algorithm and its data structure based on suffix array, which is a simple data structure and has low space complexity. Suffix array is useful frequently to search for huge text. However, subtitle text of multimedia data is to get longer by time. Therefore, suffix array must be reconstructed because subtitle text is continually changed. We propose the data structure called prefix array and search algorithm using it.

비선형 선배열 형상 추정을 위한 계수 반복 다항 근사화 기법 (Iterative Polynomial Fitting Technique Using Polynomial Coefficients for the Nonlinear Line Array Shape Estimation)

  • Low frequency towed line array with high array gain and beam resolution is a long range surveillance sensor for anti-submarine warfare. The beam characteristics is however deteriorated due to the distorted line array sensor caused by low towing speed, wind, current, and towing ship maneuvering. An adaptive beamforming method is utilized in this paper to enhance the distorted line array beam performance by estimating and compensating the nonlinear array shape. A polynomial curve fitting in the least square sense is used to estimate the array shape iteratively with the distributed heading sensors data along the array. Real time array shape estimation and nonlinear array beam calculation is applied to a very long towed line array sensor system and the beam performance is evaluated and compared to the linear beamformer for the simulation and sea trial data.

  • Previous methods to map from a FORTRAN-like specification into a systolic array were difficult to find data dependencies because the specification was expressed and executed sequentially. Data-flow graph(DFG)s show data dependencies explicitly. In this paper we show a mapping tool from a DFG specification into a systolic array. We introduce the concept of a Systolic Pattern Stream(SPS) and use that concept to derive a systolic array.

An Efficient Functional Analysis Method for Micro-array Data Using Gene Ontology

  • Microarray data includes tens of thousands of gene expressions simultaneously, so it can be effectively used in identifying the phenotypes of diseases. However, the retrieval of functional information from a large corpus of gene expression data is still a time-consuming task. In this paper, we propose an efficient method for identifying functional categories of differentially expressed genes from a micro-array experiment by using Gene Ontology (GO). Our method is as follows: (1) The expression data set is first filtered to include only genes with mean expression values that differ by at least 3-fold between the two groups. (2) The genes are then ranked based on the t-statistics. The 100 most highly ranked genes are selected as informative genes. (3) The t-value of each informative gene is imposed as a score on the associated GO terms. High-scoring GO terms are then listed with their associated genes and represent the functional category information of the micro-array experiment. A system called HMDA (Hallym Micro-array Data analysis) is implemented on publicly available micro-array data sets and validated. Our results were also compared with the original analysis.

2차원 배열 데이터에서 유사 구역의 효율적인 탐색 기법 (An Efficient Method for Finding Similar Regions in a 2-Dimensional Array Data)

  • 여러 과학 분야에서 측정 또는 시뮬레이션의 결과로 2차원 배열 데이터가 활발히 생성되고 있다. 현재 배열 데이터에 대한 다양한 질의 처리 기법들이 연구되고 있으나 2차원 배열 데이터에서 크기가 미리 알려져 있지 않은, 값이 서로 유사한 구역을 찾는 문제는 거의 다루어지지 않았다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 주어진 2차원 배열 데이터에서 사용자가 지정한 값 이상의 크기를 갖는, 원소 값들이 서로 유사한 구역을 빠르게 찾는 방법을 제안한다. 본 논문의 제안 방법은 2차원 배열의 각 원소 쌍에 대해, 해당 원소로만 이루어진 크기가 1인 구역부터 시작하여 두 구역을 동일한 모양을 유지하면서 오른쪽 및 아래쪽으로 단계적으로 확장시켜나간다. 만약 두 구역의 값의 차이가 사용자가 지정한 값 이상으로 커지면 확장을 중단한다. 따라서 제안 방법은 배열에서 유사 구역이 될 가능성이 있는 부분들만 접근하여 유사 구역을 효율적으로 찾아낼 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 성능 분석과 다양한 실험을 통해 제안 방법이 매우 효율적으로 유사 구역을 찾을 수 있음을 보인다.

  • In the Taguchi parameter design, the product-array approach using orthogonal arrays is mainly used. However, it often requires an excessive number of experiments. An alternative approach, which is called the combined-array approach, was suggested by Welch et al (1990) and studied by Vining and Myers (1990) and others. In these studies, only single respouse variable was considered. We propose how to simultaneously optimize multiple responses when there are correlations among responses.

Monitoring of Gene Regulations Using Average Rank in DNA Microarray: Implementation of R

  • Traditional procedures for DNA microarray data analysis are to preprocess and normalize the gene expression data, and then to analyze the normalized data using statistical tests. Drawbacks of the traditional methods are: genuine biological signal may be unwillingly eliminated together with artifacts, the limited number of arrays per gene make statistical tests difficult to use the normality assumption or nonparametric method, and genes are tested independently without consideration of interrelationships among genes. A novel method using average rank in each array is proposed to eliminate such drawbacks. This average rank method monitors differentially regulated genes among genetically different groups and the selected genes are somewhat different from those selected by traditional P-value method. Addition of genes selected by the average rank method to the traditional method will provide better understanding of genetic differences of groups.

선형 시스토릭 어레이를 이용한 완전탐색 블럭정합 이동 예측기의 구조 (A linear systolic array based architecture for full-search block matching motion estimator)

  • This paper presents a new architecture for full-search block-matching motion estimation. The architecture is based on linear systolic arrays. High speed operation is obtained by feeding reference data, search data, and control signals into the linear systolic array in a pipelined fashion. Input data are fed into the linear systolic array at a half of the processor speed, reducing the required data bandwidth to half. The proposed architecture has a good scalability with respect to the number of processors and input bandwidth when the size of reference block and search range change.

  • In this paper, solar array of KOMPSAT was modeled and analyzed. The modeling results of solar array was achieved by neural algorithm, which is powerful of nonlinear system with a few data sets. The algorithm was analyzed and verified by simulation considering on solar cell data of KOMPSAT. The characteristics VI curves and power generation of solar array are analyzed by using the modeling.

  • RAN-aCGH is an R GUI tool for the analysis and visualization of array comparative genomic hybridization (array-CGH) experiments. The tool consists of data-loading, preprocessing for missing data, several methods for statistical identification of DNA copy number aberration, and visualization of the copy number change. RAN-aCGH requires a single input format, provides various visualizations, and allows the addition of a new statistical method, all in a user-friendly graphic user interface (GUI).
