In this paper, the design of a printed dipole antenna fed by broadside coupled striplines (BCS) for the 3.5GHz band is described. The two fins of the bow tie are, respectively, on the two sides of the substrate. The feeding balanced lines adopted for 1×2 array are the BCS. The obtained numerical results are in good agreement with experimental data. Through experiments with printed dipole antennas of various extended angles, the printed dipole antenna exhibits the wide bandwidth in the desired frequency band, which has a bandwidth of 28% for VSWR < 2.0 : 1. And within this bandwidth, This printed dipole antenna achieves a stable radiation pattern. It is found that the narrow band and feeding for array characteristic which is a disadvantage of the conventional printed dipole antenna can be improved. The radiation pattern showed omnidirectional characteristics and the maximum gain was about 4.4dBi.
In this paper, we proposed reconfigurable dual polarization patch array antenna that can select two polarizations(Vertical, RHCP) using defected ground structure and Pin diode. The proposed antenna was designed arranging a circular polarization patch antenna implemented with a square microstrip patch and two slots 3x3 at 25.8mm placed, a half-wavelength of 5.8 GHz. Conect the pin diode and the capacitor to the slot diagonally placed on the ground of each antennas, and select polarization using the open/short operating according to the application of DC voltage to the pin diode. As a result of the design, the gain of the antenna is 11.7 dBi at vertical polarization and 11.6 dBic at RHCP. The axial ratio is 20.3 dB at 1.8 dB vertical polarization at RHCP. Mutual Coupling is Maximum to -20.8 dB for vertical polarization and Maximum to -30.1 dB for RHCP.

This paper is able to be solved by improving degradation in multi-path environment by adjust beam pattern angle through modifying pulse phase of each antennas by using TRM (Transmitter Receiver Module). Beam Scanning Array Antenna, which is transmitter/receiver that improves degradation in multi-path environment without any signal distortion, is designed and manufactured. Beam Scanning Array Antenna should be able to send/receive signal at the antenna's longitudinal part without distortion and should not influences other systems. Also, it should include target detecting ability by beam steering.Dispersion characteristic of Beam Scanning Antenna, which is designed, is analysed by using fidelity, and steering and radar resolution performance is verified by using $1cm{\times}1cm$ sized target. To manufacture Beam Scanning Array Antenna, control board and GUI, which is able to control Vivaldi Antenna for IR-UWB, Tri-Band Wilkinson power divider, and TRM (Transmitter Receiver Module), is designed. Throughout this research, developed Beam Scanning UWB Array Antenna system is adoptable for radar application field. and time domain analysis techniques by using network analyser made the antenna characteristics analysis for setting up antenna more accurate. In addition, it makes beam width checking without difficulties.

This paper presents analysis of a slot array antenna having a low side lobe level and high front-to-back ratio for a repeater system of a satellite DMB(Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) service. Antennas for this repeater system require a high gain and enough isolation to reduce interferences between signals in system. Therefore, it is necessary to suppress a side lobe level and to increase front-to-back ratio. Unlike a structure 134 by lossy microstrip lines, in this work a single cavity-backed slot antenna array using a single waveguide feed is proposed to obtain the reliability for high power handling and high radiation efficiency. The side lobe level and front-to-back ratio are enhanced with tapered array technique and an optimized vertical reflector. The measured side lobe levels in H- and E-plane are under $-33.24\;\cal{dB}$ and $-35.78\;\cal{dB}$, respectively. The front-to-back ratio over $37.84\;\cal{dB}$, and the peak gain of over $17\;\cal{dBi}$ are measured.

In this paper, we propose a design of dual-band patch antennas for Global Positioning System(GPS) applications, and the designed antenna is used as an individual element of GPS arrays. A low distortion and a high isolation of the array are achieved by adjusting rotating angles of each array element. The antenna consists of two radiating patches that operate in the GPS $L_1$ and $L_2$ bands, and the two ports feeding network with a hybrid chip coupler is adopted to achieve a broad circular polarization(CP) bandwidth. The rotating angles of each antenna element are varied with four directions(${\phi}=0^{\circ}$, ${\phi}=90^{\circ}$, ${\phi}=180^{\circ}$, ${\phi}=270^{\circ}$) in order to minimize the pattern distortion and maximize the isolation among array elements. The measurement shows bore-sight gains of 0.3 dBic($L_1$) and -1.0 dBic($L_2$) for the center element. Bore-sight gains of 1.6 dBic($L_1$) and 1.0 dBic($L_2$) are observed for the edge element. This results demonstrate that the proposed antenna is suitable for GPS array applications.

As the latest weapon systems and electronic equipments are increasingly demanding stealth technology to improve the survivability of allies, it is necessary to implement low-observability technology that reduces the radar cross section(RCS). In order to implement this stealth technology, a method for low RCS characteristics by applying a shape design or a electromagnetic wave absorber is widely used. However, active phased array antennas have structural limitations in shape design, also when a absorber is applied to it, the performance of the antenna is degraded. Therefore, in this paper, in order to realize the low RCS characteristics of the active phased array antenna operating in the X-band, individual radiating elements suitable for applying the radio wave absorber were selected, and a 13x13 array antenna was designed and manufactured. Next, by comparing the measured results of the relative RCS and electrical performance for the manufactured antenna according to the presence and type of the absorber, it is shown that the electrical performance is maintained at an equal or higher level while obtaining the low RCS characteristics. Thereby the method proposed in this paper for implementing the low RCS characteristics was validated. Finally, it was confirmed that when the wave absorber is applied to the array antenna, the limitation of its performance deterioration can be overcome.

In this paper, stochastic optimization algorithms of PSO (Particle Swarm Optimization) and APSO (Adaptive Particle Swam Optimization) are studied and compared. It is revealed that the APSO provides faster convergence and better search efficiency than the conventional PSO when they are adopted to find the global minimum of a two-dimensional function. The advantages of the APSO comes from the ability to control the inertia weight, and acceleration coefficients. To verify that the APSO is working better than the standard PSO, the design of a 10GHz microstrip patch as one of the elements of a high frequency array antenna is taken as a test-case and shows the optimized result with 5 iterations in the APSO and 28 iterations in th PSO.
A novel planar polarization-agile microstrip subarray is proposed and its performance assessed by a thorough numerical investigation. The subarray consists of five square patches with a central element, directly coupled to a pair of microstrip feed lines by a cross-shaped aperture, which spreads the power outwards to the other patches through a network of suitable connections. By properly exciting the antenna at its input ports, any kind of polarization of the radiated field can be accomplished with fairly low cross-polarization levels. Moreover, since only two feed lines are required to drive the whole subarray, polarization agility is simply and attractively achieved by a single phase-shift circuit. The design concept is described and the results of the analyses and simulations performed by two completely independent full-wave approaches are presented and discussed.
For the past years, wireless communications environment have developed with explosive demand of internet service and increase of subscriber. Anytime anywhere, we can access internet service and recently, we can access internet with portable terminal using wireless communications. So several schemes have been proposed for the efficient service. In this paper, we may improve performance of wibro system using adaptive antennas scheme at the base station (BS) and mobile station(MS),operating jointly. In wibro system, the joint use of transmit beamforming at BS and receive beamforming at MS is improved the SINR and increased the capacity compared to conventional system[1],[2].
Long-range wireless power transmission technology goes beyond mere cell phones and small appliances, and is the core technology of 4'th industrial revolution such as robot, electric car, and IoT sensor network. In this paper, we will explore the evolution of long-range wireless power transmission technologies that have already become commercially available, with rapid advances in technology, beyond the traditional short-range technology that has become technologically common. Through this, it is intended to check the domestic research level and progress by identifying core technologies and technical challenge.
