Characteristic Comparison of IPMSM according to Armature Winding (전기자 권선 방법에 따른 매입형 영구자석 동기 전동기의 특성 비교)

  • Performance comparison of IPMSMs with distributed and concentrated winding is presented in this papcr. Two IPMSMs have been designed and fabricated with identical rotor dimension, air-gap length, series turn number, stator outer radius, and axial length except winding configuration. Basic parameters and machine performance, such as resistances, back emf, output torque, and efficiency, are compared. From the comparison results, motor design considering winding configuration is discussed.

  • Two new harpacticoid species belonging to the genera $Microarthridion$ Lang, 1944 (Tachidiidae) and $Nitocra$ Boeck, 1864 (Ameiridae) are recorded from underground caves in the karst area of Ninh Binh Province, North Vietnam. $Microarthridion$ $thanhi$ n. sp. is distinguished from congeneric species by the number of setae on the antennary exopod, the structure of leg 5 in both sexes, and the finger-like process modified from an outer distal pinnate seta of the third endopodal segment of leg 2 in the male. $Nitocra$ $vietnamensis$ n. sp. has the character combination of six setae on the ellipsoidal exopod of leg 5 in both sexes, the first endopodal segment of leg 1 shorter than the whole exopod, the seta/spine armature of an inner seta of P2-P4 enp-1 and four elements on P2 enp-3, and the reduction of the proximal endite to a seta on the maxillary syncoxa.

Two New Tetranchyroderma Gastrotrichs(Macrodasyida, Thaumastodermatidae) from South Korea

  • Two new gastrotrich species belonging to genus Tetranchyroderma are described on the basis of the specimens from intertidal or sublittoral sand bottoms of South Korea. Tetranchyroderma heterotentaculatum, n. sp. is clearly differentiated from its congeners by the character combination: the cuticular armature with pentancres, modified rod-like cephalic tentacles, and three pairs of dorsolateral adhesive tubes. Tetranchyroderma hoonsooi, n. sp. possesses tetrancres, paired lateral cephalic tentacles, and ventro-lateral adhesive tubes along whole lateral margin, while lacks dorsal adhesive tubes. Affinities with its congeners and variability within the species are discussed, with brief notes on morphological discrepancies between adults and juveniles.

  • This paper analyzed longitudinal end effect occurred in linear induction motor by using I-d direct solution and its result is verified by 2-d Finite Element Method(FEM). Longitudinal end effect of linear induction motor caused by magnetic discontinuity in primary core and electric discontinuity in armature winding has been investigated by many researchers. In this paper, 1-d direct solution and boundary conditions proposed by Yamamura and Nasar is used to analyze end effect of linear induction motor and its solution is verified by 2-d FEM.

A New Species of the Rarely Known Genus Apolethon(Copepoda, Harpacticoida, Laophontidae) from Brackish Waters of Korea

  • A new laophontid copepod species, Apolethon articulatus n. sp., is described from the estuaries and salt marshes in South Korea. Apolethon articulatus is similar to the three congeneric species currently known in sharing the character combination of the elongate first endopodal segment of leg 1 with inner seta and the expansion of second endopodal segments of legs 2-4 with decrease in the number of setae on them. However, A. articulatus differs from them by the separate exopod of female leg 5 and the armature of mandibular palp with 6 setae. Description and taxonomic accounts of the new species are presented herein with detailed illustrations and SEM micrographs. As the true identity of the rarely known genus has not been clarified yet, a revised generic diagnosis is provided with a key to the species hitherto known in the genus.

  • This paper presents a generator for stand-alone vibration monitoring system of bridge structure based on ambient vibration of bridge. In this paper, a novel electric power generator which has minimum effect of armature reaction is proposed. The related mechanical and electrical design equations are obtained and a pilot generator has been implemented. In addition, the charging system for extremely low generator current is discussed, and some improvements are identified for the system. This investigation reveals that diode characteristics of rectifier is dominant factor in the charging process. Finally, both the simulation, which uses real measurement data of the Namhae bridge as input of the pilot generator, and indoor test are carried out. The results showed the applicability and effectiveness of the stand-alone vibration powered generator.

  • This paper presents parameter measurement for permanent magnet synchronous motors based on the P-Q circle diagram. Three electrical parameters of permanent magnet synchronous motors, i.e., the equivalent iron loss resistance, armature inductance, and electrical motive force (emf) coefficient are simultaneously measured. The advantages of this method are that it can be implemented under constant excitation and it dispenses with the generating test for the emf coefficient. The proposed method is applied to a 160w permanent magnet synchronous motor, and then the measurement results are analyzed.

  • A novel control scheme of using a single electronic drive to synchronize two synchronous motors is investigated analytically. The developed control strategy extends the conventional vector control technology, Specifically, it utilizes the property that the motion of two motors can be independently controlled by the q-axis currents provided the desired q-axis currents can be achieved by adjusting physical armature currents. The latter part is indeed guaranteed by adding a position offset to one of the motors. This work has a potential of cost saving in practice where the cost of drive is a major concern.

  • This paper describes the efforts to develope a PC based parameter identification system for D.C servomotors. A new identification algorithm for the D.C. servomotor parameters is developed. The algorithm is implemented on 16 bit IBM-PC/XT using the C language. The whole identification process of signal generation, measuring and parameter determination is fully automated. To minimize the errors due to the ripple component in the measured armature currents, digital averaging filter is employed. The proposed parameter correction method using the deadzone current and the time to reach the peak current resulted in excellent agreement between the measured current and the current estimated using the model.

  • In this paper, an robust adaptive backstepping controller is proposed for the speed control of separately excited DC motor with uncertainties and disturbances. Armature and field resistance, damping coefficient and load torque are considered as uncertainties and noise generated at applying load torque to motor is also considered. It shows that the backstepping algorithm can be used to solve the problems of nonlinear system very well and robust controller can be designed without the variation of adaptive law. Simulation and experiment results are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed controller.
