This paper proposes an algorithm for autonomous mobile robots to effectively navigate obstacles. In order to detect obstacles infrared sensors and cameras are employed. The infrared sensor is utilized to calculate the distance to obstacles while the captured images from the camera are used to determine the width of obstacles. To compute obstacle width, binary image processing, contour detection, and the minimum area rectangle technique are employed. Using the distance to obstacles and obstacle width, the avoidance angle is calculated, and this angle is incorporated into steering control. The proposed obstacle avoidance algorithm was implemented on an autonomous robot, and experimental results demonstrated a maximum reduction in avoidance time by 8.5 seconds compared to using only infrared sensors when the obstacle width is 30cm.
Usually in South Korea, land cover type and topographic undulation are frequently changed even in a narrow area. However, most of researches using aerial LIDAR(LIght Detection And Ranging) data in abroad had been acquired in the study areas to be changed infrequently. This research was performed to explore reconstruction methodologies of 3D surface models considering the distribution of land cover type and topographic undulation. Composed of variously undulatory forests, rocky river beds and man-made land cover such as streets, trees, buildings, parking lots and so on, an area was selected for the research. First of all, the area was divided into three zones based on land cover type and topographic undulation using its aerial ortho-photo. Then, aerial LIDAR data was clipped by each zone and different 3D modeling processes were applied to each clipped data before integration of each models and reconstruction of overall model. These kinds of processes might be effectively applied to landscape management, forest inventory and digital map composition. Besides, they would be useful to resolve less- or over-extracted problems caused by simple rectangle zoning when an usual data processing of aerial LIDAR.

Background: Osteomyelitis is an intraosseous inflammatory disease characterized by progressive inflammatory osteoclasia and ossification. The use of quantitative analysis to assist interpretation of osteomyelitis is increasingly being considered. The objective of this study was to perform early diagnosis of osteomyelitis on digital panoramic radiographs using basic functions provided by picture archiving and communication system (PACS), a program used to show radiographic images. Methods: This study targeted a total of 95 patients whose symptoms were confirmed as osteomyelitis under clinical, radiologic, pathological diagnosis over 11 years from 2008 to 2017. Five categorized patients were osteoradionecrosis, bisphosphonate-related osteonecrosis of jaw (BRONJ, suppurative and sclerosing type), and bacterial osteomyelitis (suppurative and sclerosing type), and the control group was 117 randomly sampled. The photographic density in a certain area of the digital panoramic radiograph was determined and compared using the "measure area rectangle," one of the basic PACS functions in INFINITT PACS® (INFINITT Healthcare, Seoul, South Korea). A conditional inference tree, one type of decision making tree, was generated with the program R for statistical analysis with SPSS®. Results: In the conditional inference tree generated from the obtained data, cases where the difference in average value exceeded 54.49 and the difference in minimum value was less than 54.49 and greater than 12.81 and the difference in minimum value exceeded 39 were considered suspicious of osteomyelitis. From these results, the disease could be correctly classified with a probability of 88.1%. There was no difference in photographic density value of BRONJ and bacterial osteomyelitis; therefore, it was not possible to classify BRONJ and bacterial osteomyelitis by quantitative analysis of panoramic radiographs based on existing research. Conclusions: This study demonstrates that it is feasible to measure photographic density using a basic function in PACS and apply the data to assist in the diagnosis of osteomyelitis.
The trajectory preservation property that stores only one trajectory in a leaf node is the most important feature of an index structure, such as the TB-tree for retrieving object's moving paths in the spatio-temporal space. It performs well in trajectory-related queries such as navigational queries and combined queries. But, the MBR of non-leaf nodes in the TB-tree have large amounts of dead space because trajectory preservation is achieved at the sacrifice of the spatial locality of trajectories. As dead space increases, the overlap between nodes also increases, and, thus, the classical range query cost increases. We present a new split policy and entry relocation policies, which have no deterioration of the performance for trajectory-related queries, for improving the performance of range queries. To maximally reduce the dead space of a non-leaf node's MBR, the Maximal Area Reduction (MAR) policy is used as a split policy for non-leaf nodes. The entry relocation policy induces entries in non-leaf nodes to exchange each other for the purpose of reducing dead spaces in these nodes. We propose two algorithms for the entry relocation policy, and evaluate the performance studies of new algorithms comparing to the TB-tree under a varying set of spatio-temporal queries.

In general, it is not very clear than the compound eye in the head, the dark brown bump shape is slowly fade a from the prothorax, mesothorax to metathorax. 3) The surface of intersegment membrane is colourless or slightly yellow, and the entire surface has stripped marking with thine lines. 4) In the abdominal segment, there are many and small sculptures in net shape around the (equation omitted) shape portions. 5) The size of sculpture in (equation omitted) portion of abdomen is smaller than one in thorax, and in the same segment, the dorsal is smaller than abdomen and the rear portion of the segment is larger than the front of segment. 6) After the 7th abdominal segment, no intersegmental membrane is found and the cuticle of the external structure is the same as external structure of the segment. 7) The seta is not found in head, compound eye, antenna and wing which portions were subdivided by development of imagined bud of the cell, no seta is found in cuticle of the segment in the general cell of the larva stage and also in the dorsal and intersegmental membrane.
The geometrical shape of a plow bottom may be the most important factor affecting the performance of a plow for a given soil and operating conditions. There are various designs of the Jaenggi (Korean plow) available commercially, which may be different from each other and from the plow (Western plow) in respect to the shape and performance. This study was intended to investigate the geometrical characteristics of Jaenggi. The coordinate digitizer equipped with 3 potentiometers was designed and manufactured for measurement of the shape of curved plane of moldboard and share. The digitizer was connected to a microcomputer having the data acquisition system. This device was used to analyze the plow bottoms of 5 differently-made Jaenggis and one cylindrical plow. The results of the study are summarized as follows: 1. It was possible to measure easily and quickly the curved plane of plow bottom and to plot the view on three major plans using the coordinate digitizer electrically connected to a microcomputer system. 2. The shape of five Jaenggi bottoms analyzed could be characterized by the cutting angle having the range of $33-42^{\circ}$, the maximum share-lift angle of $41-50^{\circ}$, and the setting angle of moldboard wing of $46-70^{\circ}$. The most critical difference of the shape factors between the Jaenggi and the plow was found in the maximum share-lift angle, the former was more than twice as much as the latter. 3. The analysis of the shape of Jaenggi bottoms showed that the share projections on 3 major plans had a varied triangle, which was quite different from that of plow bottom. Especially, it was analyzed that the shape of furrow slice for the Jaenggi had a skewed rectangle, leaving a considerable height of the ridge at the furrow bottom. 4. The dihedral angle was similar range of $30-85^{\circ}$ for the all bodies investigated, but the directional angle was somewhat different from each other. The difference in directional angle was $5^{\circ}$ for the plow, $20^{\circ}$ for the Jaenggi A and $30^{\circ}$ for the Jaenggi B. 5. Area of the spherical representation region was 0.0328 for the plow, 0.1194 for the Jaenggi A and 0.1716 for the Jaenggi B. This may indicate that the plow came close to a working surface and the Jaenggi A and the Jaenggi B departed from a working surface to a somewhat greater extent.

Objective: Pilates is a low/mid-intensity exercise that can be easily performed by elderly individuals as it is an individual body-oriented exercise. It is also a cardio workout that can be performed anywhere to develop strength and flexibility. Therefore, we investigated the effects of 8 week Pilates program on the balancing ability of elderly individuals. Method: The research participants were selected from elderly residents in B city. Ten individuals voluntarily signed an agreement to undergo free measurements as well as to participate in the workout program. (Height: $157.1{\pm}11.9cm$, Weight: $61.7{\pm}8.0kg$). The Pilates exercise was performed 60 minutes a day, three times a week for a total of eight weeks. The measurement variables used to test balance were the vestibular test, 5 m habitual and maximum walk test and 3 m tandem walk test. A series of paired t-test were conducted using IBM SPSS Statistics 23.0 to analyze all the research data collected in order to determine the balance ability of the participants before and after the Pilates program. Additionally, the statistically significant level for all analysis was set to ${\alpha}=.05$. Results: In the vestibular test, some meaningful changes were observed in the length envelope area (ENV) while standing on one foot, but there were no significant differences in the ENV, rectangle(REC), root mean square, and total length. Results also revealed that statistically significant differences existed in the 5 m habitual and maximum walk test, as well as the 3 m tandem walk test. Conclusion: To summarize the findings, the 8 week Pilates program employed in this study significantly improved the dynamic balance of the elderly participants. Thus, elderly individuals that frequent perform Pilates are expected to enjoy positive benefits such as increased balance and fewer falling accidents.

In the era of 20 nm scaled semiconductor volume manufacturing, Microelectronics Manufacturing Engineering Education is presented in this paper. The purpose of microelectronic engineering education is to educate engineers to work in the semiconductor industry; it is therefore should be considered even before than technology development. Three Microelectronics Manufacturing Engineering related courses are introduced, and how undergraduate students acquired hands-on experience on Microelectronics fabrication and manufacturing. Conventionally employed wire bonding was recognized as not only an additional parasitic source in high-frequency mobile applications due to the increased inductance caused from the wiring loop, but also a huddle for minimizing IC packaging footprint. To alleviate the concerns, chip bumping technologies such as flip chip bumping and pillar bumping have been suggested as promising chip assembly methods to provide high-density interconnects and lower signal propagation delay [1,2]. Aluminum as metal interconnecting material over the decades in integrated circuits (ICs) manufacturing has been rapidly replaced with copper in majority IC products. A single copper metal layer with various test patterns of lines and vias and $400{\mu}m$ by $400{\mu}m$ interconnected pads are formed. Mask M1 allows metal interconnection patterns on 4" wafers with AZ1512 positive tone photoresist, and Cu/TiN/Ti layers are wet etched in two steps. We employed WPR, a thick patternable negative photoresist, manufactured by JSR Corp., which is specifically developed as dielectric material for multi- chip packaging (MCP) and package-on-package (PoP). Spin-coating at 1,000 rpm, i-line UV exposure, and 1 hour curing at $110^{\circ}C$ allows about $25{\mu}m$ thick passivation layer before performing wafer level soldering. Conventional Si3N4 passivation between Cu and WPR layer using plasma CVD can be an optional. To practice the board level flip chip assembly, individual students draw their own fan-outs of 40 rectangle pads using Eagle CAD, a free PCB artwork EDA. Individuals then transfer the test circuitry on a blank CCFL board followed by Cu etching and solder mask processes. Negative dry film resist (DFR), Accimage$^{(R)}$, manufactured by Kolon Industries, Inc., was used for solder resist for ball grid array (BGA). We demonstrated how Microelectronics Manufacturing Engineering education has been performed by presenting brief intermediate by-product from undergraduate and graduate students. Microelectronics Manufacturing Engineering, once again, is to educating engineers to actively work in the area of semiconductor manufacturing. Through one semester senior level hands-on laboratory course, participating students will have clearer understanding on microelectronics manufacturing and realized the importance of manufacturing yield in practice.

This study focuses on a ship detection and tracking method using Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) radar used for horizontal surveillance. In general, FMCW radar can play an important role in maritime surveillance, because it has many advantages such as low warm-up time, low power consumption, and its all weather performance. In this paper, we introduce an effective method for data and signal processing of ship's detecting and tracking using the X-band radar. Ships information was extracted using an image-based processing method such as the land masking and morphological filtering with a threshold for a cycle data merged from raw data (spoke data). After that, ships was tracked using search-window that is ship's expected rectangle area in the next frame considering expected maximum speed (19 kts) and interval time (5 sec). By using this method, the tracking results for most of the moving object tracking was successful and those results were compared with AIS (Automatic Identification System) for ships position. Therefore, it can be said that the practical application of this detection and tracking method using FMCW radar improve the maritime safety as well as expand the surveillance coverage cost-effectively. Algorithm improvements are required for an enhancement of small ship detection and tracking technique in the future.

Nitrate and chloride are the most common contaminants in groundwater and their concentrations increase easily due to fertilizer consumption and urbanization. The number of time series data for groundwater quality at a single site was not sufficient to analyze trends on Jeju Island. Therefore rectangle grids were drawn for the whole island and single grid was determined to be $500m{\times}500m$ after considering similar stream density, homogeneous hydraulic coefficients, geologic features of volcanic rock and low topographic slopes. All data within each lattice were collected and arranged in time series order and analyzed using Sen's method. 10.6 % of the total lattices for chloride and 22.4% for nitrate showed upward trends from the early 1990's to the early 2000's. Especially, upward trends for nitrate concentration are distinct in the low mid-mountainous areas of western and southern watersheds. Many septic tanks and much domestic waste from the urbanization of the low mid-mountainous area have produced this upward trend. Additionally, the agricultural region has dramatically increased since the 1990's and this has led to an increase of fertilizer consumption and, as a result, nitrate concentration. Therefore, the target of any management plan for groundwater quality on Jeiu Island needs to be focused on careful land use decisions in the mid-mountainous areas which are near Halla Mountain.
