Analysis of Mathematics Ability Structure in Chinese Mathematical Gifted Student

  • Based on author's practice of instructing Chinese gifted students to join the Chinese Mathematics Olympic (CMO), the paper adopted test analysis model of the Scholastic Aptitude Test of Mathematics (SAT-M), tested mathematics ability of 212 mathematical gifted students to join the CMO, applied correlation analysis and factor analysis and proposed the mathematics ability structure in Chinese gifted students including comprehensive operation ability, logic thinking ability, abstract generalization ability, spatial imagination ability, memory ability, transfer ability and intuition thinking ability. And it analyzed the expression form of these abilities respectively and gave some suggestion on mathematics teaching about gifted Chinese students.

  • 수학영재학생들로 하여금 자신들의 잠재적 재능을 최대한 발현하도륵 교육하려면, 무엇보다 먼저 그들이 어떤 특성을 지니고 있는지 구체적이고 면밀하게 분석할 필요가 있다. 특히 우리나라 실정에 맞는 수학영재교육의 행정적, 제도적 시행을 위해서는 수학영재학생들의 특성에 대한 장기간에 걸친 실증적 연구가 뒷받침되어야 한다. 본 연구에서는 서울 소재 5대학교 과학영재교육원 수학분과에 소속된 학생들을 중심으로 실제 증명 사례, 수학적 성향 특성 검사, 사회적응 설문, 그리고 Torrance 창의성 검사(그림) 등을 통하여 수학영재학생들의 인지적, 정의적, 창의적 특성을 과학영재 및 일반학생들과 비교, 분석하고자 한다.

L-모멘트법에 의한 극치강우의 빈도분석 (Frequency Analysis of Extreme Rainfall by L-Moments)

  • This research seeks to derive the design rainfalls through the L-moment with the test of homogeneity, independence and outlier of data on annual maximum daily rainfall in 38 Korean rainfall stations. To select the fit appropriate distribution of annual maximum daily rainfall data according to rainfall stations, applied were Generalized Extreme Value (GEV), Generalized Logistic (GLO) and Generalized Pareto (GPA) probability distributions were applied. and their aptness was judged Dusing an L-moment ratio diagram and the Kolmogorov-Smirnov (K-S) test, the aptitude was judged of applied distributions such as GEV, GLO and GPA. The GEV and GLO distributions were selected as the appropriate distributions. Their parameters were estimated Targetingfrom the observed and simulated annual maximum daily rainfalls and using Monte Carlo techniques, the parameters of GEV and GLO selected as suitable distributions were estimated and. dDesign rainfallss were then derived, using the L-moment. Appropriate design rainfalls were suggested by doing a comparative analysis of design rainfall from the GEV and GLO distributions according to rainfall stations.

온라인 데이터베이스 탐색자의 탐색 행태에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Searching Behavior of the Online Database Searchers)

  • 본 논문은 탐색자의 개인적 특성이 온라인 서지 데이터베이스 탐색과정 및 탐색 성 과에 미치는 영향을 구명하여 탐색 행태에 관한 모형을 구축하기 위한 것이다. 도서관학과 재학생들을 피험자(N=67)로 하여 측정한 적성, 성격, 정규 교육, 온라인 탐색 교육 효과, 탐 색 과정, 탐색 성과에 대한 29가지 요소를 기초로 하여 9개의 변인을 구성한 후, 12개의 가 설을 검증하여 영향인자를 식별하였고, 경로 분석을 수행하여 5가지의 인과 모형을 구축하 였다.

  • In this information-oriented society, the ability to manage and process the rapidly increasing amount of information has become an absolute requirement. Students of today must prepare for the challenges of the upcoming 21st century through developing skills in computers and by nurturing a creative mind and the aptitude to resolve problems. In terms of its pedagogical function and range and applicability, multimedia will surpass all other tools of education, owing to its flexibility and openness. This study provides actual case examples of the construction and utilization of the multimedia environment and proposes factors that must be considered in the construction of the multimedia environment.

A Study on Computing Method of the Individual Scholastic Evaluation in the Comparative School Record

  • This study aims at solving the problem in the application method of the comparative school record which is currently being discussed in depth among colleges. The application method of Kay O. Lee and Yeon Soo Cung(1997) which was appied in the 1999 Korean air force Academy Admission Process was found to be problematic in the following respects. First the setting of the standard which divides all the high schools in kora into five groups relative to their scholastic level is somewhat vague and subjective secondly the difference among those levels which resulted from the five grouping could greatly influence on the admission of the applicants and thirdly there is no standard in choosing those few promising individuals with high scholastic aptitude test results from the low level groups such as level four and five,. Therefore this study suggests and introduces a nationwide individual scholastic evaluation that would complement the limits and problems in the application method of the comparative school record.

  • 이 논문에서는 진학 정보들이 폭발적으로 늘어나고 있는 반면 기존의 진학 정보 서비스는 정보의 내용이 극히 단편적이거나 일반적이며 신속한 정보제공이 이루어지지 않는다는 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 개인의 프로파일을 관리하고, 정보간의 의미를 파악하여 관련 정보를 쉽게 찾을 수 있도록 시맨틱 웹 기술을 기반으로 하여 개인의 관심이나 적성, 취미, 성적 등을 반영할 수 있도록 특화된 서비스를 지원하는 맞춤 진학 정보 서비스 시스템을 제안한다.

지역대학 대학생의 자아존중감이 대학생활 적응에 미치는 영향 - 사회적 지지의 조절효과 - (Self-Esteem Influencing College Students' Adjustment - Moderating Effects on Social Support -)

  • Self-esteem and social supports are important variable influencing adjustment to college life. The study aims to identify the factors influencing college students' adjustment moderating effects on social supports. Data were collected from 265 usable questionnaires among college students in Pyeongtek University. Results of a factor analysis yielded three dimensions of self-esteem which were talent/attitude and capacity/pride. And results of factor analysis also yielded three dimensions of social supports which were family, friends, and professor supports. Hierarchical regression analysis revealed that capacity/pride and all of social support factors affected significantly for adjustment to college life. And female and attitude for students' major had a positive affect on adjustment to college life. It was suggested that self-esteem, social supports, and aptitude for students' major should be considered in college management policy.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate pre-service early childhood teachers' procedures for entering college, their perception of major areas of satisfaction and career progression. The subjects of this study were 522 students majoring in early childhood education in Busan. The findings of this study were as follows. First, the major motivation of entering into college for these students majoring in early childhood education was 'to become an early childhood teacher'. Second, the majority of students majoring in early childhood education were satisfied with their majors for their aptitude for studying in this area. Third, the most commonly expressed employment preference for such students was that of a public kindergarten teacher due primarily to job security and appropriate rates of pay.

노인의 생산적 활동 및 신체적.정신적 능력 영향 요인 (Factors Influencing Productive Activity and Physical and Psychological Ability in Korean Elders)

  • Purpose: This study was to identify the relation between productive activity and physical and psychological ability in elders. Methods: A total of 294 subjects aged between 60 and 92 were selected through convenient sampling. Data were collected with a self-reported questionnaire from May to June, 2008. Collected data were analyzed by SPSS/PC Win. 15.0. Results: Of variance in productive activity, 13.3% was explained by house ownership, number of diseases, and successful aging. Of variance in physical and psychological ability, 25.4% was explained by house ownership, perceived health, number of diseases, and successful aging. The correlation coefficient between productive activity and physical and psychological ability was significant (r=.32, p<.001) Conclusion: Findings of this study may be useful in understanding the health status of community-dwelling elders and developing more specific health promotion programs.
