Effects of Injection Conditions on the Weld Line Creation in Injection Molding (사출성형시 성형조건이 웰드라인의 생성에 미치는 영향)

  • Weld line in injection molded part is one of the defects in injection molding process. Weld line deteriorates not only appearance quality but mechanical property. In this study, ABS and PP were used as experimental materials. And weld line length, depth and strength have been examined according to the injection molding conditions. As the results of experimental studies, weld line length increased as flow rate increases for all materials. And the flow rate is most influenced to the creation of weld line length. Also weld line strength increased, as flow rate and melt temperature increase for all materials. The whole experiment results was similar to CAE analysis results.

Drying Properties of Cashew Film by Thinning Conditions (희석조건과 카슈도막의 건조성)

  • This work was done to investigate problems of cashew coating in a wooden-art industry such as ritual vessels and to improve a curing property of cashew film. The main problem in the cashew coating industry was a small-scale business, insufficiency of facilities, lack of knowledge about cashew resin and painting, and lack of a technology of productivity improvement by accelerated drying time of cashew film. In present, cashew coating for ritual vessels mostly used the petroleum as a thinner. The time of set to touch of cashew film thinning with petroleum on glass plates was increased with the increasement of the thinning proportion, but retarded from 3 to 11 times compared to that of an exclusive thinner according to thinning level. The addition of 20% aceton to petroleum contributed to the high reduction rate up to about 60% at the thinning level of 100%, which was effective to accelerate the drying time of cashew film. Even though only the petroleum or the petroleum-aceton(20%) mixture was used as a thinner, it did not exhibit any distinguishable differences in crack and appearance of cashew-film coated on Frexinus rhynchophylla after 5 cycles of soak under the vacuum-drying treatment.

  • Linearity is an important property of optical devices for analog communications. In this paper, we study the 3rd-order interrnodulation distortion (IMD3) of an Inp/InGaAsP multiple-quantum-well (MQW) traveling-wave type electroabsorption modulator (TW-EAM). We observe abnormal notches in the IMD3 results those were different from notches by general transfer curve of electroabsorption modulators (EAMs). We analyze the phenomena through absorption coefficients according to wavelengths and bias voltages to verify appearance of the abnormal notchs, where it can be known to result from Stark-shift and broadening. We propose the method to enhance linearity of MQW-EAMs by using these effects.

  • The Seated Buddha image carved on rock surface of Yuneulgok in Bae-ri, Gyeongju constituted of alkali feldspar granite. There is surface weathering by abrasion, exfoliation and break out. As a result various experiment was carried out testing rock material property to quantitatively grade weathering. Besides, this study is focused on properties of rock and correlation between things. Additionally, comparison of chemical properties to nondestructive weathering grade in the buddha image carved on rock. This result utilized on important resource for scientific conservation system compared with weathering appearance.

  • This study, by explaining the relationship between mechanical properties and clothing formability, aims to propose functional data for tailoring performance of fabrics of good tailorability. The KES-FB system was used to measure factors of mechanical properties and also the technique of stepwise-block-regression method was applied to investigate relationship between functional properties and mechanical properties of men's shirks. As results of vasual inspection of men's shirts, it showed that good fabrics had higher value in the LT, bending properties, shear properties and RC than poor fabrics in Total Appearance Value(TAV). And finally, A formula was obtained for calculating the VIA of men's shirts from functional properties which were calculated from the mechanical properties.

  • This paper introduces the IN-FLEX system using aluminum clad flex cable, which is expected to alternate the conventional wiring method, such as, a steel pipe wiring method, and a synthetic resin pipe wiring method. The aluminum clad flex cable has a superior operation characteristics in heat dissipation property, in installation and maintenance facility, flammability, and appearance. Moreover, the IN-FLEX system adopted an easy connection mechanism which enable to reduce the time, hands and expense for the installation and maintenance of the system. Certification tests verifying the superior operation characteristics and reliability of the system using aluminum clad flex cable were carried with standard method in KOLAS certification institute.

  • It is necessary to investigate the welding performance and fracture resistance of welding part in structure. This study presented a most suitable condition of welding process for butt and lap joints by $CO_2$ arc welding which is widely used in the vehicle structure. Also it was conducted to tensile and fatigue test under various welding conditions. For butt and lap joints, the best conditions of welding voltage and current were 30V and 320A, respectively, in 3.2 and 4.5 mm thick steel plate. Under this condition it could be taken the highest tensile strength and fatigue strength, and a good bead appearance.

  • In this paper, we consider the morphism of inheritance in SR DEVS. The property of determination occurring in the inheritance can be non-deterministic. In this case the process can be implemented for the inheritnace determination through the morphism. The final determination of morphism might be changed as the environments. To the morphsim, it is not the appearance of new element, but the selection is processed in current elements.

Effect of the Chemical Treatment and Fiber Length of Kenaf on Physical Properties of HDPE/Kenaf/Expandable Microcapsule (HDPE/케나프/열팽창성 마이크로 캡슐의 물성에 미치는 섬유 길이 및 화학처리 영향)

  • High density polyethylene (HDPE)/kenaf fiber (KF) composites included two types of KF with different lengths were fabricated by using a twin screw extruder. A thermally expandable microcapsule (EMC) was used to form HDPE/KF. The KF lengths were 0.3 mm and 3 mm. The contents of KF and EMC were fixed at 20 wt% and 5 wt%, respectively. From FT-IR data of KF, which underwent chemical treatment, peaks around 1700 and $1300cm^{-1}$ decreased. This might be caused by the reduction of lignin and hemicellulose due to the chemical treatment of KF. Based on the specific gravity, thermal stability and tensile property, physical properties of the composites with a 3 mm fiber were good. However, if the fiber is longer, poor appearance might be caused due to the thermal degradation during processing. Thus, the adequate length of KF should be chosen to maintain the appearance and physical properties for industrial applications of HDPE/KF/EMC composites. The tensile strength for 0.3 mm fiber treated with chemicals increased slightly.

Analysis of Patent Technology Trend of Domestic Brassiere (국내 브래지어 특허기술동향 분석)

  • This study analyzed the domestic patent trends of brassiere to provide fundamental data for promising technology. Relevant patents were searched by inputting the key words of "brassiere" and IPC code "A41C" on patent information search service of KIPRIS. A search for bras patents from 1985 to 2019 revealed 533 registered applications out of the total 744 listed. The IPC code with the highest portion (40%) was A41C3/00 (brassiere), followed by A41C3/14 (forming inserts, 21.6%), and A41C3/12 (component parts, 13.3%). To arrange the guidelines of the content of brassiere patents, we carried out a qualitative technology analysis on 744 patents, to extract 850 technology cases applied in patents. From the technological features of each case, main categories were classified into two parts (function and structure) and function was divided into 7 sub-categories that included physiological comfort, physical comfort, utility, healthcare, appearance, and economic value. As for the structure, cup showed the highest portion (37.9%), followed by pad (16.5%), and wings (13.2%). From the aspect of function, appearance showed the highest portion (30.8%), followed by usability (22.2%), physiological comfort (14.6%), physical comfort (14.6%), economic value (10.7%), and health care (7.4%).
