  • With the women's education level higher and gender equality more promoted, women's opportunity of taking part in business is increasing. Entering the emotional age which counts self-image as being important, there is a view that woman's appearance has a direct relation to their social life. The research is to examine the hypothesis and important factors for women workers at banks for their successful career, that is, to verify the effects of women's appearances on their social life, furthermore, to help female applicants for a bank and the bank clerks have a desirable social life. The subjects were 200 male and 100 female bank clerks and the research was analyzed on the basis of a total of 300 questionnaires. The results are as follows: first, 52 percent of male subjects responded that the factors of "sociability" and "character and good manners" are the most important in social life, while 47 percent of female subjects answered the factor of "ability" is so. Second, 61.5 percent of male and 84 percent of female respondents answered that woman's appearance has a potent influence on their social life. Third, 76 percent of male and 90.9 percent of female respondents answered that when the companies employ woman workers, they take woman's appearance into consideration. It shows even at job interviews that good-looking applicants are in a better position, for bankers must consult with many customers and so their neat and tidy appearance such as their natural make-up and decent hair style (short-hair style) is one of significant factors to perform their jobs. Therefore, appearance managements are primary for women bankers to work at their workplace.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine whether any differences can be found in body comparison, body satisfaction, and appearance management behaviors according to the MBTI's typology among male and female adolescents in Gwangju and South Jeolla province, South Korea. It was conducted by a self-report survey of 534 male and female high school students in Gwangju and South Jeolla province. The collected survey data were analyzed by Means, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$, Factor analysis, and t-test using the SPSS/PC WIN 19.0 statistical program. The results were as follows: Introversion Type(I) teens tend to think a thinner body is closer to the ideal when compared to Extroversion type(E) students. They spend less time comparing their bodies with their peers. However, they usually have lower levels of body satisfaction and are more likely to be concerned about acne. Intuition Type(N) students tend to have a body figure that is a little plumper than Sensing Type(S) teens. They are inclined to try and lose weight and are concerned about acne. Sensing Type(S) students are more likely to compare their bodies with their peers than Intuition Type(N) teens. However, they are generally less satisfied with their bodies. Feeling Type(F) teens are more concerned with harmony and personal hygiene the Thinking Type(T) students. Judging Type (J) students generally want to be thinner than their current body type when compared with Perceiving Type(P) teens. When Judging Type(J) teens decide they need to be on a diet, they do their best to lose weight even if it means exercising and forgoing their favorite foods. These results indicate that it would be more effective to offer guidance to teens while taking into consideration their differences in terms of appearance management behaviors based on the MBTI Topology of Adolescents.

  • The cellular change of the pulmonary tuberculous lesions may be divided into two groups, exudative and proliferative form by their course and fate. In the most cases, the patients usually have very much complex type of cellular changes. Therefore, the shadows of the chest films in pulmonary tuberculosis are also much variable in nature. And Daniel said that knowledge of the pathology of tuberculosis and an appreciation of the method of progression and healing are essential to proper interpretation of the films. Author, having reviewed 33 cases of resected tuberculous lung obtained in N.M.T.H. for one year from Oct. '75 to Sep. '76 by surgical managements, classified the Pathological findings such as: 1) caseation only, 2) tuberculoma, 3) atelectatic lung 4) cavitary lesion and 5) atelectasis with cavity, and examined the relationship between the roentgenological characteristics of the chest films and the pathological process of tuberculous lesions of the resected lungs, The result were obtained as follows. (1) Tuberculoma was commonly appeared in $S_2$ segment in right and $S_6$ segment in left. (2) Atelectasis and destroyed lung were more commonly appeared in left lung than right, and their containing rate of cavity was 82%. (3) Cavities were mostly appeared in $S_1$ and $S_2$ segments of both lung and the appearance-rate of cavity on $S_6$ segment was higher in left than right. And among the cavitary lesions of the resected lung, cavity was not seen in the preoperative chest films in 22%. (4) The configuration, thickness and sharpness of the walls of cavities, which revealed the cavitary shadows in the preoperative chest films, were mostly depended on the degree of increased collagenous fiber of the wall, existence of perifocalitis, and more or less of the caseous masses on the inner surface of the cavity wall.

  • Diseases caused by begomoviruses (family Geminiviridae, genus Begomovirus) constitute a serious constraint to tropical and sub-tropical agro-ecosystems worldwide. In recent years, they have also introduced in temperate regions of the world where they have great impact and are posing a serious threat to a variety of greenhouse crops. Begomoviral diseases can in extreme cases reduce yields to zero leading to catastrophic losses in agriculture. They are still evolving and pose a serious threat to sustainable agriculture across the world, particularly in tropics and sub-tropics. Till recently, there have been no records on the occurrence of begomoviral disease in South Korea, however, the etiology of other plant viral diseases are known since last century. The first begomovirus infected sample was collected from sweet potato plant in 2003 and since then there has been gradual increase in the begomoviral epidemics specially in tomato and sweet potato crops. So far, 48 begomovirus sequences originating from various plant species have been submitted in public sequence data base from different parts of the country. The rapid emergence of begomoviral epidemics might be with some of the factors like evolution of new variants of the viruses, appearance of efficient vectors, changing cropping systems, introduction of susceptible plant varieties, increase in global trade in agricultural products, intercontinental transportation networks, and changes in global climatic conditions. Another concern might be the emergence of a begomovirus complex and satellite DNA molecules. Thorough understanding of the pathosystems is needed for the designing of effective managements. Efforts should also be made towards the integration of the resistant genes for the development of transgenic plants specially tomato and sweet potato as they have been found to be widely infected in South Korea. There should be efficient surveillance for emergence or incursions of other begomoviruses and biotypes of whitefly. This review discusses the general characteristics of begomoviruses, transmission by their vector B. tabaci with an especial emphasis on the occurrence and distribution of begomoviruses in South Korea, and control measures that must be addressed in order to develop more sustainable management strategies.
