  • It is necessary to calculate Apparent Activation Energy(Ea) in order to apply the equivalent age formula to predict compressive strength using the maturity method. For carbon reduction, it is necessary to consider the change of Ea by condition of GGBFS concrete, which is widely used today. In this study, as a basic study for the design of the compressive strength model of GGBFS concrete, the apparent activation energy of the GGBFS mixed paste was calculated through a calorimeter. The experiment was carried out at a hydration temperature of 10 to 30℃ with a paste test specimen having a GGBFS content of 0 to 80%. As a result, the GGBFS replacement rate of the paste increased, and Ea tended to increase as the temperature decreased.

  • The relationship between temperature and apparent logarithmic hardness of ointments were clearly demonstrated. The followings were obtained as the results: 1. When the ointment base was mixed with additives and heated or cooled at various temperatures, the apparent logarithmic hardness in the first trend before reaching the critical point is subject to change mainly by the contents of the additive while in the secondary trend after reaching the critical point is subject to change mainly by the temperature. 2. No Change in the critical point was observed at different temperatures. It is assumed that the crittical point of such ointment bases has no relationship with temperatures and that the critical point itself should rather depend on the physicochemical properties of the additives.

밀가루의 열분해 특성과 활성화 에너지에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Activation Energy and Characteristics of the Heat Decomposition of Flour)

  • After examining the characteristics of the heat decomposition of the 80~120mesh flour using the Mini cup pressure vessel test and determining the apparent activation energy in a spontaneous combustion, the conclusion is as follows. The heat decomposition of flour occurs at around $100^{\circ}C$ and the peak for the maximum rise in pressure appears at around $290^{\circ}C$. The decomposition pressure against various temperature in the vessel shows the maximum value of $4.7kg/cm^2$ approximately at $440^{\circ}C$. When the thickness of the sample is 3cm, the maximum temperature and the critical temperature of ignition are $398^{\circ}C$ and $204.5^{\circ}C$, respectively; the critical temperature is $194.5^{\circ}C$ when the thickness of the sample is 5cm, and $182.5^{\circ}C$ when the sample is 7cm. In addition, the apparent velocity calculated using the method of least squares is 35.0407Kcal/mol.

  • Effects of concentration(6-9%, db) , heating temperature (80-95$^{\circ}C$), cooking time (10-50min) and heating method (continuous and instantaneous) on the apparent viscosity of cowpea sediment dispersions at 6$0^{\circ}C$ were investigated. The instantaneous heating resulted in higher apparent viscosity than continuous heating regardless concentrations and heating temperatures. The activation energy of the increase rate constant of the apparent viscosity was about 8 kcal/mole. The apparent viscosity of the cowpea sediment dispersion heated to 95$^{\circ}C$ and held for 20 min showed a linear relation with the 20 min height at 92.5$^{\circ}C$ by viscoamylograph.

극저온 환경에서 스트레인 게이지의 겉보기 변형률 특성에 관한 연구 (The Apparent Strains of Strain Gages in Cryogenic Environment)

  • 본 연구에서는 극저온에서의 스트레인 게이지의 특성을 결정하기 위하여 이태 리의 표준기관인 IMGC (Istituto Di Metrologia "G.Colonnett")를 중심으로 세계의 측 정표준 기관과 대학이 참여하는 라운드 로빈(round robin) 시험이 진행되고 있다. 국내에서도 이 계획에 참여하여 본 연구를 수행하였다. 라운드 로빈 시험계획의 궁 극적인 목적은 세계의 주요 스트레인 게이지에 대해 여러가지 험조건에 의한 시험결과 를 가지고 극저온 환경에서의 변형측정에 이용될 수 있는 최적의 스트레인 게이지, 시 험재료, 전선연결, 시험장치 등의 시험조건을 선택하는 것이다. 이 목적을 위하여 본 연구에서는 가장 널리 쓰이는 3종류의 스트레인 게이지-미국Micro-Measurement, 일본 Kyowa, 독일 Hottinger Baldwin Mestechnik-에 대한 겉보기 변형률 대 온도의 곡선을 시험을 통하여 4.2K로 부터 293K까지의 온도 범위에서 구한다. 사용된 시편 은 스테인레스 강(AISI 316LN), 구리(Cu), 알루미늄(Al)이고 온도는 액체헬륨과 액체 질소를 이용하여 변화시켰으며, 그외의 모든 시험조건은 국제 법정계량기구(OIML) 규 정에 따라 모든 기관이 통일되도록 하였다.통일되도록 하였다.

  • Since the fiber reinforced polymeric (FRP) composites are considered in next generation of space transportation systems, reliable thermal expansion properties should be well provided for structural design of composite materials. To obtain accurate mechanical behaviors at a cryogenic temperature, precise strain measurement and calibration must be provided. In this work, apparent strains (or thermal output) of temperature self-compensated strain gages were deliberately investigated for epoxy, CTBN modified epoxy and carbon fabric composite system from room temperature to liquid nitrogen temperature. Also, fourth-order thermal output curves were presented for the further calibration. The results showed that the thermal output is heavily dependent on test materials and a large amount of apparent strains were observed for the polymer resins.

Traditional Chinese Medicine Prescriptions Enhance Growth Performance of Heat Stressed Beef Cattle by Relieving Heat Stress Responses and Increasing Apparent Nutrient Digestibility

  • The present aim was to investigate the effects of traditional Chinese medicine prescriptions (TCM) on body temperature, blood physiological parameters, nutrient apparent digestibility and growth performance of beef cattle under heat stress conditions. Twenty-seven beef cattle were randomly divided into three groups as following; i) high temperature control (HTC), ii) traditional Chinese medicine prescriptions I+high temperature (TCM I) and iii) traditional Chinese medicine prescriptions II+high temperature (TCM II) (n = 9 per group). The results showed that the mean body temperature declined in TCM II treatment (p<0.05). Serum $T_3$ and $T_4$ levels with TCM I and TCM II treatments elevated (p<0.05), and serum cortisol levels of TCM I treatments decreased (p<0.05), compared with the HTC group. Total protein, albumin, globulin in TCM II treatments elevated and blood urea nitrogen levels of both TCM treatments increased, but glucose levels of both TCM treatments decreased, compared with the HTC group (p<0.05). The apparent digestibility of organic matter and crude protein with TCM I treatment increased, and the apparent digestibility of acid detergent fiber elevated in both TCM treatments (p<0.05). Average daily feed intake was not different among three groups, however average daily gain increased and the feed:gain ratio decreased with both TCM treatments, compared with the HTC group (p<0.05). The present results suggest that dietary supplementation with TCM I or TCM II improves growth performance of heat stressed beef cattle by relieving heat stress responses and increasing nutrient apparent digestibility.

MBS 공중합물의 자연발화 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Autoignition Characteristics of Methylmethacrylate-butadiene-styrene Copolymer)

  • This study was preformed by measuring the minimum ignition temperature of MBS according to the change of sample vessel size and the minimum ignition temperature of MBS dust cloud The minimum ignition temperature of MBS product decreased as the vessel size was large, and it was obtained in the range from $120.5^{\circ}C$ to $94.5^{\circ}C$ and the apparent activation energy was obtained with 32.94Kcal/mol. The minimum ignition temperature of MBS dust cloud was measured by using Godbert-Greenwald furnace and it was obtained at $407^{\circ}C$ with the sample of 0.4g in the air and the ignition of dust cloud was not occurred below 13% oxygen concentration.

  • The aim of this work was to establish an optimal condition for determination of apparent density and flow rate for warm compacting powder. For this purpose it was evaluated uncertainty on them according to ISO Guide to the Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement. This evaluation example would be useful even in powder fluidity measurement at room temperature.

  • High temperature creep behaviour of Al-5 wt% Mg alloy reinforced with 7.5% BN flakes was studied. The composite specimens showed two main creep characteristics : (1) the value of the apparent stress exponent of the composite was high and varied with applied stress (2) the apparent activation energy for creep was much larger than that for self-diffusion in aluminum The true stress exponent of the composite was set equal to 5. Temperature dependence of the threshold stress of the composite was very strong. Which could not be rationalized by allowing for the temperature dependence of the elastic modulus change. AIN particles which were incorporated into the Al matrix during fabrication of the composite by the PRIMEXTM method were found to be effective barriers to dislocation motion and to give rise the threshold stress during creep of the composite
