A Study on the Space Usage Behaviors of Farmhouse in Rural Apartment Houses (농촌지역 공동주택 농가의 공간이용행태에 관한 조사연구 -진주시 근교 농촌지역을 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the space usage behaviors of dwelling by using field study method and by interviewing residents of apartment houses in rural areas. It has been found that the main occupancy space among the residents of apartment houses in rural area is based on agricultural activities. This study will show that apartment houses in rural areas must, as a necessity, reflect the characteristics and needs of its rural environment. It is certain that the existing "unit plan" is not a suitable method. Residents of rural areas have been able to adjust themselves to their current dwelling space properly. This is, mainly, due to economic factors. The interior space is used for simple everyday activities like loading, deposit and drying things. "Nongmak" is a space used for agricultural work and the balcony is used for storage of various things. In conclusion, this study strongly suggested that secure storage space based on the farmhouse model and rural lifestyle should be necessary. Furthermore, special designed cubic shelves should be placed in utility rooms and balconys. And the design and function of apartment houses in rural areas must reflect the needs of its residents.

  • The study is arranged in the form of plate-shaped in the Apartment Houses with placed at right angles. After examined the daylight environment and the indoor illumination in this form of Apartment Houses, in order to improve the daylight environment of the lower floors, I examined the daylight environment. In order to match the indoor illumination, as a standard illumination 400lx, I examine the necessary lighting energy based on the direction and time for the different parts in the Apartment Houses, As the first floor, the lowest power requirement appeared to the South(457W), and the most power requirement appeared to the East(843W).

  • The purpose of this survey is to find out the problems in lighting conditions of Korean residence and bring up the improvement direction. 120 households were chosen at random among independent house and apartment house in Taejon for this survey.The results are as follows; 1) The illumination of apartment houses are 2/3 of the recommended illuminalion and that of Independent houses are 1/2 of the recommended. Thus, apartment houses have better lighting condition. 2) 7he average illumination level is improving, but it still does not reach the recommended level. Therefore, the considerable plan to maintain proper lighting levels and suit to the 1;ghting purposes is required.

  • The purpose of this study is to advance apartment houses in quality as a residence through revitalization of tradition and the procedures are as follows: The first procedure is theoretical contemplation. The second procedure is analysis of the traditional residential space that gives a starting point of introspection of it without cease at the stage of formal following or pattern application in revitalizing tradition in the apartment houses. And the third procedure is to select and suggest aspects applicable to developing Korean style apartment houses. The suggest is embodied by a plane figure of 55 pyong type apartment house after selecting the concrete development aspects with approaches such as arrangement and interior space analysis, behavior analysis and space division and design analysis. This study has its meaning in that it suggests a possibility of various approaches other than formal following or pattern application in revitalizing tradition in a new Korean type apartment house, that it gives another selection to diversifying consumers' patterns and that it helps recognize and develop our tradition in this age of cultural nationalism.

  • Remodeling of apartment houses has been increasing recently and residents have chosen to extend the balcony along with the legalization of balcony extension in apartment houses. Balcony extension provides residents more space, however, it has been investigated that balcony extension increases construction cost, heating and cooling cost and decreases sound insulation performance. Therefore, this study focuses on developing a decision making index for residents in remodeling required apartment houses. The suggested methodology involves surveying actual residents, survey analysis by AHP and decision model development using logistic regression analysis.

  • In 2000, Standard Design Loads for Building was changed especially in seismic load. According to the change, seismic-resisting capacity of deteriorated apartment houses has to be reestimated. This research is to propose seismic-strengthening and improving methods of structural efficiency of RC deteriorated apartment houses. The analysis models were shear-wall system(36/58/79$m^{2}$) and beam-column system(11/19/25py) which were constructed in early 1980 and didn't consider seismic load. The definite methods are addition of shear walls and lightening of load. The story-drifts of shear wall systems exceed allowable story-drifts so that two methods was applied. The story-drifts of beam-columns system satisfy allowable story-drifts, thus the latter is applied. The seismic-resisting capacity of these systems was improved by the two methods. This research will be helpful to remodel deteriorated apartment houses.

  • This study was conducted in seven metropolitan cities in south korea containing Seoul and Busan etc and used DevC++ language program in the process to get datas of the distance ratio between apartment houses by the length of time accepting sunshine during the day time. Basically by inputting information such as a certain date, longitude, latitude etc, it was possible to get outputs of the length of shadow. This study obtained the data from the model experiment and computer programs which analysis of the sunshine environment. As mentioned above, by analysing relations between sunshine-ralated laws in each cities and those influential factors, it is possible to suggest the fundamental data of distance ratio between apartment houses when designing a new building with more optimized way.

Article 36 (Liability for warranty Repair Defects), Article 37 (About Repair Defect, etc), and its implementing ordinances, Article 36 (Term of warranty liability) Article 37 (Defect criteria), Article 38 (procedure of Repair defect), Article 39 (type of warranty liability), Enforcement Rule Article 17 (Certifiation of warranty liability). On the basis of the upper Decree, In spite of Standard and forms of 'Completion of Repair Defect' was exist, it was hard to receive 'End of Confirmation' in practice. The purpose of this study is to propose basics in order that Practitioners can apply problems and improvements about Decree on the Management of Apartment Houses.

An Investigation on the Effect of Duration of Sunshine on the Heating Energy of Apartment Houses (일조시간이 아파트 난방에너지 소비량에 미치는 영향에 관한 조사연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of sunshine on the heating energy consumption of apartment houses by a field investigation in Haeundae, Busan. In the field, heating energy consumption of every household is researched by reading a calorimeter and the duration of sunshine of every household is calculated by Sunlight V1.0. Then, the duration of sunshine and heating energy are done regression analysis by SPSS 10. According to this study the apartment houses by orientation spend more energies order of east, west, southeast, southwest, and south. When apartment houses are same orientation, there is difference of $29{\sim}58\%$ in heating energy consumption by the duration of sunshine. And the heating energy consumption in worst condition of sunshine increases $67\%$ on the best condition of sunshine.

  • This study aims to propose Green Remodelling methods of apartment houses in Korea. Through the literature review and case studies various 'Green' Remodelling elements including environmental friendly technologies were identified and classified. Design strategies and remodeling techniques which could increase energy efficiency, reduce water and resource use, improve air qualify, improve landscape management, and improve maintenance were also investigated. Then, 'Green remodelling' methods of apartment houses are proposed as the des19n methodology of remodeling for sustainable development. The green Remodeling design methods and elements proposed by this study are proved to be simple, easy and flexible ways to enhance the environmental sustainability of the existing building.
