  • Since Modern Movement flexibility has been one of the most attractive words in architecture. However, "overprovision first, division later" has been the most prevailing design method for spatial flexibility, and many of buildings designed for flexible use are practically quite inflexible due to insufficient building systems or/and irresponsible planning. There have been two dominant strategies to achieve architectural flexibility: multi-functionality and polyvalence. These two approaches, which point contradictory directions, actually reflect the difficulty in providing a proper form of architectural flexibility. Multi-functionality can afford changeable environments with satisfying spatial conditions; however it lacks tolerance to accommodate other uses but intended functions by architects. Meanwhile, flexibility by a polyvalent form relies on the vague anticipation of user's various interpretations. In this study by looking up these two different standpoints and historical precedents flexibility in architecture is carefully scrutinized focused on the contradiction, and as an alternative for architectural flexibility contextual relations is proposed. Unlike both multi-functionality and polyvalence, which produce flexibility by changing its own properties, manipulating contextual relations infuses flexibility into space by changing the properties of a building, not of its individual room. By using this contextual relations method, a community-centered school in Manhattan, NY, which was in danger of being closed because of its academic failure, is represented as a flexible space.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine Japonica rice farming of China. Asian rice is divided into Japonica and Indica species. Japonica rice represents only less than 20% of Chinese rice output, but it can compete with Korea rice in both price and quality. The rise of income level has expanded the scale of production of Japonica rice in China. China’s adhesion to the World Trade Organization (WTO) has forced Chinese policy makers to face their obligations and responsibilities such as abolishing subsidies on agricultural exports. But being member of the WTO entry also helps China exercise and enhance its influential place in the global economy. Because of geographical proximity and the fact that Korea is ranked second among countries with which China still has a trade deficit, China may seek and plead for an opening of the protected Korean rice market to stabilize prices and prevent excess supply of Chinese rice. Though Korean rice farmers feel that prices are still low, Chinese rice remains far cheaper than Korean rice with the price gap is still on the rise. In anticipation of such fierce competition, Korea must carefully review its current policies and closely follow the evolution of rice production, marketing, and trade in China. This study also suggests some of the possible research using more recent data that should be conducted in the future.

  • Compared to the past, the current disk storages have dramatically increased and extremely many data are transferred on the network everyday. In spite of the anticipation that such development will be continued, there have been lack of studies for improving the data-imaging time in terms of the digital forensics. In this paper, we firstly investigate the time due to hash functions during the data Imaging and secondly propose a method for improving the efficiency of the EWF-File imaging time from a cryptographic perspective.

  • As an effective means of price discrimination, some suppliers offer trade credit to the distributors in order to stimulate the demand for the product they produce. The availability of the delay in payments from the supplier enables discount of the distributor's selling price from a wider range of the price option in anticipation of increased customer's demand. Since the distributor's lot-size is affected by the demand for the customer, the distributor's lot-size and the selling price determination problem is interdependent and must be solved at the same time. Also, in many common business transactions, the distributor pays the shipping cost for the order and hence, the distributor's ordering cost consists of a fixed ordering cost and the shipping cost that depend on the order quantity. In this regard, we deal with the joint lot-size and price determination problem when the supplier allows delay in payments for an order of a product. The positive effects of credit transactions can be integrated into the EOQ (economic order quantity) model through the consideration of retailing situations, where the customer's demand is a function of the distributor's selling price. It is also assumed that the distributor's order cost consists of a fixed ordering cost and the variable shipping cost. We formulate the distributor's mathematical model from which the solution algorithm is derived based on properties of an optimal solution. A numerical example is presented to illustrate the algorithm developed.

  • The EIA system was developed during ten odd years of introduction. On the other hand, the contentional development representing systematical fidelity does not match to it. I surveyed the problems of EIA on the point of environmental items with no legal standards. EIA is being executed only once on the planning stage. If the present EIA system has two times of execution, the quality of EIA will be much better. First, on the stage of deciding location of the project, EIA should be done. And next, detailed EIA should be done on the stage of executing the project. To describe the problems of EIA, I surveyed the legislations on the point of the former stages, investigation of present status and anticipation. And I tried a theoretical approach to EIA. The knowledge of things, the subject's standpoint and his valuation are all put together in the EIA. The knowledge of relationship between air and water pollutants and their impact on human is accumulated much. On the other hand, the knowledge of the compounded item, fauna-flora(natural ecology) is partial and causes many difficulties. I pointed out the absurdities of assessment technique dealing the standards and introduced assessment technique being applied to items with no physico-chemical standards such as wild lives.

  • This research shows the improved methodology which can be applied for universities which want to set up their GHG inventories. In other words, we tried to make guideline in problems due to the unique characteristics of universities. This guideline will help university to deal with the problems they are facing: For example university has less enforcement in operational control compared to the business sector. And it also has various usage of facilities, although these facilities are not maintained by same principal agent. The difference between owner and manager is an another reason for difficulty in setting group organization. The improved and adaptable methods responding to these problems were suggested from this research. The results of this research says the new definition of function for various actors in university for quality control and quality assurance. Because the suggestions made in this research which concerns with criteria for building of universities' GHG inventories were all read by current legislation, there is an anticipation that this can be an official guideline that can be applied to the universities right away.

  • The objective of the present study is to review of the system, type of care and utility of the Geriatric Health Care Facility(GHCF) in Japan. Geriatric Health Care Facilities in Japan were started with subsidies from the Ministry of Health and Welfare in 1987 to encourage return of the elderly from hospitals to their homes rather than other destinations such as nursing homes or hospitals. Concerning to the type of care, there is the difference between GHCF and other geriatric care facilities(i.e., geriatric hospital and nursing home). GHCF provides both medical and nursing care. The following services are available for the GHCF's user's. As institutional care services, rehabilitation training, ADL exercise, nursing care and management of medicine, are available. For the out-patients, supplying meals, taking a bath, and rehabilitation services, are also available. The medical treatment fee at the facilities is about US $ 1,500 per month. Expenses for meals, daily necessities, shall be borne by the recipient, Those expenses are about US $ 360 per month. In anticipation of the coming of the aging society, the Goverment must be formulated consecutively several vital policies of measures, especially GHCF, for the elderly in the future few years.

  • Purpose: The main purpose of this study is to identify the cause and problem of one plagiarism and suggest a solution. Research design, data and methodology: Based on the Center for Research Ethics Information, this study analyzed the total of 17 cases from October 3, 2017 to June 16, 2020. Results: As seen in the case of this study, the Supreme Court's verdict on plagiarism requires clear sources, whether it is plagiarism or self-plagiarism, and the criterion for plagiarism is the time of writing the work, and the final judgment will be conducted by the court. Evidence-based sources indicate that the researcher or professor provides a lot of anticipation to the academic development and readers who read it. In addition, it is necessary to revise and submit the thesis judge's point of view in the thesis for doctoral dissertation within the proper and reasonable scope. The implications are also very large. Lastly, the reason for dismissal of a doctoral dissertation plagiarized at the time of recruitment is recognized Research ethics should be institutionalized in educational institutions or research institutions. Conclusions: Research ethics education should be strengthened in universities and research institutes. Research ethics is a code of ethics that must be ruled by everyone who explores.

  • Many studies have utilized GPGPU (General-Purpose Graphic Processing Unit) and its high computing power to compute complex tasks. The characteristics of GPGPU programs necessitate the operations of memory copy between the host and device. A high latency period can affect the performance of the program. Thus, it is required to significantly improve the performance of GPGPU programs by optimizations. By executing multiple GPGPU programs simultaneously, the latency hiding effect of memory copy is achieved by overlapping the memory copy and computing operations in GPGPU. This paper presents the results of analyzing the latency hiding effect for memory copy operations. Furthermore, we propose a performance anticipation model and an algorithm for the limitations of using pinned memory, and show that the use of the proposed algorithm results in a 41% performance increase.
