철근부식을 고려한 FRP Hybrid Bar 및 일반 철근을 가진 RC 보의 내력저하 평가 (Evaluation of Load Capacity Reduction in RC Beam with Corroded FRP Hybrid Bar and Steel)

  • RC(Reinforced Concrete) 부재는 인장영역에서 보강재가 하중을 지지해야 하므로, 철근부식은 내구성 뿐 아니라 안전성에서도 매우 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 최근 개발된 FRP Hybrid Bar와 일반 철근을 매립한 RC 보부재를 제작하였으며, ICM(Impressed Current Method)를 적용하여 철근부식을 촉진시켰다. 기존의 이론식인 Faraday 법칙을 이용하여 부식량을 평가하였으며, 일반설계강도를 가진 콘크리트 보부재에 대하여 휨시험을 수행하였다. 일반 철근에서는 부식량이 4.9~7.8% 수준으로 평가되었으며 이에 따른 휨 저항능력은 -25.4~-50.8% 수준으로 감소하였다. FRP Hybrid Bar를 매립한 RC 보에서는 부식과 휨 저항 감소가 평가되지 않았는데, 이는 에폭시 도료로 코팅된 철근의 우수한 내부식성에 기인한다. 촉진 부식실험에서는 FRP Hybrid Bar의 우수한 내부식성 및 부착성능을 확인하였는데, 실용화를 위해서는 장기적인 침지를 통한 내구성 평가가 필요하다고 판단된다.

적층제조된 스테인레스 316L에 대한 초음파나노표면개질에 따른 표면특성 및 부식성에 관한 연구 (Surface Quality and Corrosion of Additively Manufactured STS316L Treated by Ultrasonic Nanocrystal Surface Modification)

  • This study investigated the effects of ultrasonic nanocrystal surface modification (UNSM) on the deteriorated surface of AISI SUS316L additively manufactured (AM) using the powder bed fusion (PBF) technique. Specifically, the effects of UNSM conditions on surface topology, hardness, and anti-corrosion were examined. Before UNSM treatment, the stainless steel 316L powder was processed via the PBF machine to prepare a substrate. We observed surface changes due to UNSM treatments in PBF SUS316L substrates and examined the correlation between topology changes, roughness, hardness, and anti-corrosion. After UNSM treatment, the coarse as-built surface was refined, and a regular micro-profile was implemented. Compared to the non-treated PBF sample, the waviness and roughness of the surfaces after UNSM treatment decreased by up to 56.0% and 94.5%, respectively, and decreased further as the interval decreased. The hardness improved by up to 63.0% at a maximum depth of 500 ㎛ from top surface by the UNSM treatment. The results of the corrosion test showed that the corrosion resistance of the UNSM specimens was moderately improved compared to that of the untreated surface. This study confirmed that UNSM is an effective post-processing technique for additively manufactured parts.

GGBFS 콘크리트에 매립된 Notch를 가진 FRP Hybrid Bar의 부식저항성 평가 (Evaluation of Anti-Corrosion Performance of FRP Hybrid Bar with Notch in GGBFS Concrete)

  • 콘크리트 구조물은 내구성과 경제성이 확보된 건설재료이지만, 매립된 철근의 부식은 내구적인 문제뿐 아니라 구조물의 안전성에 큰 영향을 준다. 본 연구는 유리섬유와 강재를 에폭시로 일체화 시킨 FRP Hybrid Bar를 적용한 콘크리트에 대해 염해 침투 저항성과 부식수준에 따른 부착성능을 평가하였다. 이를 위해 일반 강재를 적용한 OPC(Ordinary Portland Cement)시편과 GGBFS를 30% 혼입한 시편에 대하여 부식을 0~10% 촉진하여 부착력을 평가하였다. 또한 FRP Hybrid Bar는 에폭시 코팅으로 인해 보통 상태에서는 부식 진전이 매우 작으므로 notch를 인위적으로 가하여 OPC 콘크리트에 매립시켰으며, 이후 부식실험을 수행하였다. 실험 결과, 부식된 철근의 부착력이 21% 수준으로 감소해도 FRP Hybrid Bar에 발생된 notch는 부착력에 큰 영향이 없는 것으로 평가되었다. 또한 GGBFS 콘크리트를 사용한 부재의 경우, 통과 전류가 감소하여 일반철근을 사용해도 70%이상의 부착력을 유지하고 있었다.

  • Alloy 617 is considered as a candidate Ni-based superalloy for the intermediate heat exchanger (IHX) of a very high-temperature gas reactor (VHTR) because of its good creep strength and corrosion resistance at high temperatures. Helium is used as a coolant in a VHTR owing to its high thermal conductivity, inertness, and low neutron absorption. However, helium inevitably includes impurities that create an imbalance in the surface reactivity at the interface of the coolant and the exposed materials. As the Alloy 617 has been exposed to high temperatures at $950^{\circ}C$ in the impure helium environment of a VHTR, the degradation of material is accelerated and mechanical properties decreased. The high-temperature strength, creep, and corrosion properties of the structural material for an IHX are highly important to maintain the integrity in a harsh environment for a 60 year period. Therefore, an alloy superior to alloy 617 should be developed. In this study, the mechanical and high-temperature corrosion properties for Ni-Cr alloys fabricated in the laboratory were evaluated as a function of the grain boundary strengthening and alloying elements. The ductility increased and decreased by increasing the amount of Mo and Cr, respectively. Surface oxide was detached during the corrosion test, when Al was not added to alloy. However the alloy with Al showed improved oxide adhesive property without significant degradation and mechanical property. Aluminum seems to act as an anti-corrosive role in the Ni-based alloy.

Experimental study on shear, tensile, and compression behaviors of composite insulated concrete sandwich wall

  • A new type of composite insulated concrete sandwich wall (ICS-wall), which is composed of a triangle truss steel wire network, an insulating layer, and internal and external concrete layers, is proposed. To study the mechanical properties of this new ICS-wall, tensile, compression, and shearing tests were performed on 22 specimens and tensile strength and corrosion resistance tests on 6 triangle truss joints. The variables in these tests mainly include the insulating plate material, the thickness of the insulating plate, the vertical distance of the triangle truss framework, the triangle truss layout, and the connecting mode between the triangle truss and wall and the material of the triangle truss. Moreover, the failure mode, mechanical properties, and bearing capacity of the wall under tensile, shearing, and compression conditions were analyzed. Research results demonstrate that the concrete and insulating layer of the ICS-wall are pulling out, which is the main failure mode under tensile conditions. The ICS-wall, which uses a graphite polystyrene plate as the insulating layer, shows better tensile properties than the wall with an ordinary polystyrene plate. The tensile strength and bearing capacity of the wall can be improved effectively by strengthening the triangle truss connection and shortening the vertical distances of the triangle truss. The compression capacity of the wall is mainly determined by the compression capacity of concrete, and the bonding strength between the wall and the insulating plate is the main influencing factor of the shearing capacity of the wall. According to the tensile strength and corrosion resistance tests of Austenitic stainless steel, the bearing capacity of the triangle truss does not decrease after corrosion, indicating good corrosion resistance.

Evaluation and Prediction of Corrosion Resistance of Epoxy Systems and Epoxy/Polyurethane Systems in Seawater Environment

  • Current coating practice requires the thickness of anti-corrosion organic coatings to be over $250{\mu}m$ for immersion parts of ships and offshore structures and the corrosion resistance of these coatings has been evaluated by destructive and qualitative analysis. Recently, Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy(EIS) method has been employed, as an alternative, to evaluate corrosion resistance of organic coatings. This method is characterized as being nondestructive, reproducible, and quantitative in evaluating aging of organic coatings. In this study, EIS method was adopted to quantitatively and effectively select the coating systems having optimized protective performance. Evaluations of several epoxy and epoxy/polyurethane coating systems typically used for ships and offshore structures were carried out in wet($50^{\circ}C$, $90^{\circ}C$) and dry(room temp.) environments to accelerate the degradation of the organic coatings. These results were compared with the conventional scribed(scratched) test results. The plausible prediction model for determining the remaining life-time of coating systems was also proposed based on variations of impedance data, FT-IR and $T_g$ measurements results.

마그네슘-알루미늄 합금의 화성처리 공정 개발과 그 내식성 평가 (Development of chemical conversion coating process for Mg-Al alloy and its anti-corrosion property)

  • The chemical conversion coating formed on magnesium alloy investigated for low cost and harmless in environment by using the colloidal silica as the main component. The film formed in 298 K is thick, the film, which was thought combination of Si-O, was formed. The film formed in 313 K is thinner than that in 298 K. The quantity of film formed at high temperature such as 333 K and 353 K is smaller than dissolved quantity. At the anodic polarization experiment, corrosion resistance in sealing by hot water after chemical conversion treatment in basic solution condition get worse than that in comparison with basic solution condition. In salt spray test, the ratio of black rust on specimen that did not conducted chemical conversion treatment was five times or more compared with those of chemical conversion treated specimen. The film thickness of chemical conversion coating produced by alkali treatment process is thinner than in comparison with that of specimen produced in basic chemical conversion treatment solution condition. It is thought, however, that it showed good corrosion resistance during salt spray test because the area of microcracks is small.

에폭시계 코팅재의 내산열충격 특성에 관한 연구 (Study on the characteristics of acid resistance and thermal shock for epoxy coatings)

  • This paper was studied on the characteristics of acid resistance and thermal shock for epoxy coatings in the strong acidic environment. The exhaust gas system, such as a air preheater, desulfurization equipment, for industrial boiler is damaged by dew point corrosion. To protect the acid corrosion, the coating using nonmetal was applied. The electrochemical polarization test, acid resistance and thermal shock test for epoxy coatings were carried out. And the acid resistance and thermal shock characteristics, aspect, and electrochemical anti-corrosion characteristics for epoxy coatings in the strong acidic environment were considered. The main results are as followings: As the epoxy glass flake coating by acidic thermal shock was damaged to the crack, blistering and elution etc., the current density of epoxy glass flake coating is high. But the damage of epoxy metal complex coating by acidic thermal shock was not occurred. Therefore the characteristics of acid resistance and thermal shock for epoxy metal complex coating is better than those for epoxy glass flake coating.

경의선장단역증기기관차의 부식방지를 위한 왁스계 피복제 내후성 시험 연구 (A Study on the Testing of Weather Resistance of Anti-corrosion Wax Covering Agents in the Locomotive at Jangdan Station of Gyeongui Line)

  • 야외 전시되는 철제문화재 보존을 위해서 유물 표면을 피복처리 하는 것은 부식방지의 대표적인 방법이다. 근대문화유산 제78호 경의선장단역증기기관차는 보존조치 후 노천에서 전시될 예정이라서 기관차의 재부식 예방에 효과적인 표면 피복재를 내후성 실험을 통해 선별하였다. 실험재료는 기관차 표면 피복에 주로 사용되는 미정질 왁스 2종과 봉밀왁스를 기반으로 제조한 혼합왁스를 선별하였다. 실험방법은 3종의 왁스를 기관차 시편에 각각 피복하고 ISO 4892-1981 기준에 따라 제논아크촉진내후성시험기 속에서 1000시간 내후성 시험을 한 후 그 변화상을 비교 조사하였다. 실험결과 봉밀 왁스는 400시간 이후부터 표면에 백화현상이 발생하면서 노화하였고 미정질 왁스 2종은 800시간 이후부터 변화를 보였다. 시험전과 후 수분접촉각의 변화 역시 봉밀 왁스 보다 미정질 왁스가 적게 나타났다. 따라서 미정질 왁스 중 특히 고온형이 내후성과 수분 차단력이 가장 뛰어난 것으로 확인되어서 이것으로 증기기관차의 표면을 피복하게 되었다.

  • Protection against salt attack in seawater is obtained by using a dense, quality concrete with a low water-cement ratio, and a components appropriate for producing concrete having the needed salt resistance. The objective of this study is to evaluate the feature of corrosion with using the various concrete materials under marine exposure environment. According to the test results, slag powder and anti -corrosion inhibitor showed high chloride resistance effect. Also concre crack have an influence on corrosion of steel in spite of mixed design for salt resistance concrete. The requirement for low permeability is essential not only to delay the effect of salt attack, but also to afford adquate protection to reinforcement with admixtures.
