폐타이어 재 자원화를 위한 연구 (A Study on Recycling of Waste Tire)

  • Compared to other waste, waste tire has much discharge quantity and calorie. When we use waste heat from waste tire, it can be definitely better substitute energy than coal and anthracite in high oil price age. To use as a basic data for providing low cost and highly effective heating system, following conclusion was founded. Annual waste tire production was 19,596 million in 1999, Recycling ratio was almost 55% and more than 8.78 million was stored. Waste tire has lower than 1.5% sulfur contain ratio which is resource of an pollution, So it is a waste fuel which can be combustion based on current exhaust standard value without any extra SOx exclusion materials. Waste tire has 9,256Kcal/kg calorific value and it is higher than waste rubber, waste rubber, waste energy as same as B-C oil. When primary and second air quantity was 1.6, 8.0 Nm$^3$/min, dry gas production time was 270min and total combustion time was 360 min. In the SOx, NOx, HC of air pollution material density were lower than exhaust standard value at the back of cyclone and dusty than exhaust standard value without dust collector.

  • This paper presents an estimation method of small hydro power(SHP) potential using a SHP resource map. As a basic unit of SHP energy potential at a certain area, capacity and annual energy production of unit head was calculated from the catchment area given by a SHP resource map which was established by numerical hydrologic simulation so that a logical and relatively accurate potential estimation was possible comparing with the performance analysis model for SHP sites. The performance characteristics for Samok-Ri site were analyzed, using the SHP resource map and the developed model. It was found that the SHP resource map and the developed model is useful tool to estimate SHP potential.

  • A methodology to evaluate the performance analysis for micro hydropower sites has been studied. It consists of two main parts; flow duration function which can describe micro hydropower sites and performance analysis to estimate the output characteristics of micro hydropower plants. The output performance characteristics for Magok stream was analyzed, using developed model. Also, primary design specifications such as design flowrate, installed capacity, operational rate and annual electricity production were estimated and dicussed. Additionally, it was found that the developed model in this study is useful tool to estimate feasibility assessment for micro hydropower sites.

CFD를 이용한 등가풍속 산정과 대기안정도에 따른 연안풍력단지 발전량 변화 연구 (A Study of Energy Production Change according to Atmospheric Stability and Equivalent Wind Speed in the Offshore Wind Farm using CFD Program)

  • To predict annual energy production (AEP) accurately in the wind farm where located in Seongsan, Jeju Island, Equivalent wind speed (EQ) which can consider vertical wind shear well than Hub height wind speed (HB) is calculated. AEP is produced by CFD model WindSim from National wind resource map. EQ shows a tendency to be underestimated about 2.7% (0.21 m/s) than HB. The difference becomes to be large at nighttime when wind shear is large. EQ can be also affected by atmospheric stability so that is classified by wind shear exponent (${\alpha}$). AEP is increased by 11% when atmosphere becomes to be stabilized (${\alpha}$ > 0.2) than it is convective (${\alpha}$ < 0.1). However, it is found that extreme wind shear (${\alpha}$ > 0.3) is hazardous for power generation. This results represent that AEP calculated by EQ can provide improved accuracy to short-term wind power forecast and wind resource assessment.

  • The steel industry accounts for about 5% of the total annual global energy consumption and more than 6% of the total anthropogenic carbon dioxide emissions. Therefore, there is a need to increase energy efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions in these industries. The utilization of coke oven gas, a byproduct of the coke plant, is one of the main ways to achieve this goal. Coke oven gas used as a fuel in many steelmaking process is a hydrogen-rich gas with high energy potential, but it is commonly used as a heat source and is even released directly into the air after combustion reactions. In order to solve such resource waste and energy inefficiency, several alternatives have recently been proposed, such as separating and refining hydrogen directly from coke oven gas or converting it to syngas. Therefore, in this study, recent research trends on the separation and purification of hydrogen from coke oven gas and the production of syngas were introduced.

  • The installed capacity of wind turbines in KOREA are growing and enlarging by the central government's support program. Thus, the importance of power performance verification and its uncertainty analysis are recognizing rapidly. This paper described the Power testing results of a 1.5MW wind turbine and analysed an uncertainty level of measurements. The measured power curves are very closely coincide with the calculated one and the annual power production under the given Rayleigh wind speed distribution are estimated with the $4.7{\sim}22.0%$ of uncertainty but, in the dominant wind speed region as $7{\sim}8m/s$, the uncertainty are stably decreased to $7{\sim}8%$.

  • A methodology to predict the output performance of small hydro power using discharge of sewage treatment plant has been studied. Two sewage treatment plants existing in Chunrabuk-Do were selected and the output performance characteristics for these plants were analyzed, using developed model. As a result, it was found that the developed model in this study can be used to analyze the output characteristics for small hydro power using discharge of sewage treatment plant. Additionally, primary design specifications such as design flowrate, capacity, operational rate and annual electricity production were estimated and discussed for two plants.

This paper described the power testing results of a 3MW wind turbine and analysed an uncertainty level of measurements. The measured power curves are very closely coincide with the calculated one and the annual power production under the given Rayleigh wind speed distribution are estimated with the 3.6~12.7% of uncertainty but, in the dominant wind speed region as 7~8m/s, the uncertainty are stably decreased to 6.3~5.3%.

제주 행원 풍력발전단지의 연도별 시스템 운전특성 분석 (Analysis of Annual System Operating Characteristics at Hangwon Wind Farm on Jeju Island)

  • 제주 행원 풍력발전단지 내의 풍력발전시스템을 대상으로 연도별 풍력발전시스템의 운전특성과 고장원인이 분석되었다. 이용된 데이터는 2005년과 2006년 4월에서 9월 사이의 기상데이터와 풍력발전기의 운전데이터이다. 그 결과, 풍력자원은 해에 따라 변동이 있음을 확인할 수 있었고, 풍력발전기의 발전량 역시 해에 따라 변동함을 알 수 있었다. 또한 풍력발전기의 고장 또는 정지로 인하여 발전량이 떨어지고 있음을 확인하였고, 후류로 인한 발전량 손실도 추정할 수 있었다. 같은 해에 풍력발전기 1, 2호기를 운전 개시하였지만, 고장 또는 정지원인은 일관성이 없이 다양함을 알 수 있었다. 이 연구에서 시스템이 가장 많은 시간동안 정지한 원인은 기어박스와 요잉장치의 고장으로 분석되었다.

물오리나무와 상수리나무숲의 생산력 비교 (Comparisons of Biomass, Productivity and Productive Structure between Korean Alder and Oak Stands)

  • The biomass and net production of alder and oak trees was estimated by allometric method. The productivity of the two stands of alder and oak was obviously different judging from the rate of photosynthesis productive structure and vertical distribution of light. The amounts of net photosynthesis under the saturated light were 2.31, 1.42mg $CO_2/dm^2\cdot$hr. in the sun and shade leaves of alder tree and 1.58, 0.84mg $CO_2/dm^2\cdot$hr in that of the oak, respectively. Total annual respiration loss calculated from the respiration measured at $25^{\circ}C$ and the mean air temperature from every 10 days were 13.56ton/ha.yr in the alder stand and 19.83 ton/ha.yr in the oak. The productive structure and the vertical distribution of light in the stand were assumedly more effective to produce dry matter in the oak stand than in the alder. The biiomasses measured in 1975 and 1976 were 51.51 and 56.82 ton/ha in the alder stand and 73.35, 86.77 ton/ha in the oak one, respectively. Annual net production and gross production were 8.56 and 22.12 ton/ha.yr in the alder stand but those were 17.90 and 37.74 ton/ha.yr in the oak stand. The ratios of respiration to gross procution (R/Pg) were prespectively 0.61 and 0.53 inthe alder and oak stands. Efficiencies of solar energy utilizaztion of net production during the growing season(May-Oct.) were 0.67 and 1.40% and those of gross production were 1.72 and 2.94% in the alder and oak stands respectively.
