Based on the collisional time-correlation function approach a general analytical expression has been derived for the double differential cross-section with respect to the scattering angle and the final rotational energy, which can be applied to molecules with non-zero electronic orbital angular momentum after collision with fast hydrogen atoms. By integrating this expression another very simple expression, which gives the final rotational distribution as a function of the rotational quantum number, has also been derived. When this expression is applied to NO(2Π1/2, v'=1) and NO(2Π3/2, v'=1, 2, 3), it can reproduce the experimental rotational distribution after collision with fast H atom very well. The average rotational quantum number and average rotational energy using this expression are also in good agreement with those deduced from the experimental distributions.
Quantum mechanical analysis is presented for the photodissociation dynamics of the v'=4 levels of the $A^2Σ^+$ state of the OH molecule. We focus on the effects of the multichannel interactions between the asymptotically degenerate states in the recoupling region to see how they affect the dynamics near the predissociating resonances. Both the scalar (total cross section and branching ratios) and the vector properties (angular distributions and alignment parameters) of O($^3P_j, j=0, 1, 2) are treated. The resonances are predicted to be highly Lorentzian, and the branching ratios do not change much across them. Vector properties, however, show very delicate effects of the multichannel interactions and overlapping near the isolated and overlapping resonances. Computed resonance lifetimes agree reasonably well with experimental results.

A numerical analysis has been conducted on the dehumidification phenomena of rotary absorptive dehumidifier. Parameters that affect the dehumidification efficiency, such as regeneration temperature, humidity, rotor angular velocity, air flow rate and regeneration section angle are studied and optimum driving conditions are determined from the results, Furthermore three new types of dehumidification method are developed to improve the efficiency They are named MODE 2, 3 and 4, while the present one MODE 1. Cooling zone has been constructed between regeneration and process Bone in MODE 2 and as a result exit temperature of the process air decreases. MODE 3 an improvement of MODE 2, recirculates the cooling air into the regeneration zone and regeneration input as well as exit temperature decreases. In MODE 4, some of tee regeneration air is recirculated and it cuts down the regeneration input. Among them MODE 3, showed the best dehumidification efficiency.

The gangway connection of the articulated high speed railway vehicles (HSRV) is a double wrinkled rubber component to seal the air of the corridor under a range of angular deviations between the carriage end parts. From the results of non-linear structural analysis, one of the severe loading conditions for the connection is mixed mode (rolling+yawing) angular displacements while passing through the small-radius curved siding track of the HSRV depot. In this study, to ensure the safety enhancement of the component, the optimal design for the cross section of that was performed using the Solid Isotropic Material with Penalization (SIMP) method. Nonlinear finite element analysis confirmed that the decreases in the maximum principal strain of the optimized design under rolling and mixed modes are 68% and 39%, respectively, compared to the initial design.
Quasiclassical trajectory (QCT) method has been used to investigate stereodynamics information of the reaction $O(^1D)+H_2{\rightarrow}\;OH$+H on the DK (Dobbyn and Knowles) potential energy surface (PES) at a collision energy of 23.06 kcal/mol, with the initial quantum state of reactant $H_2$ being set for v = 0 (vibration quantum number) and j = 0-5 (rotation quantum number). The PDDCSs (polarization dependent differential cross sections) and the distributions of P($\theta_r$), P($\phi_r$), P($\theta_r$, $\phi_r$) have been presented in this work. The results demonstrate that the products are both forward and backward scattered. As j increases, the backward scattering becomes weaker while the forward scattering becomes slightly stronger. The distribution of P($\theta_r$) indicates that the product rotational angular momentum j' tends to align along the direction perpendicular to the reagent relative velocity vector k, but this kind of product alignment is found to be rather insensitive to j. Furthermore, the distribution of P($\phi_r$) indicates that the rotational angular momentum vector of the OH product is preferentially oriented along the positive direction of y-axis, and such product orientation becomes stronger with increasing j.
Population concentration in urban areas has led traffic management a central issue. To mitigate traffic congestions, the government has planned to construct large-cross-section tunnels deep underground. This study focuses on estimating the damage caused to frame structures owing to tunnel excavation. When constructing a tunnel network deep underground, it is necessary to divide the main tunnel and connect the divergence tunnel to the ground surface. Ground settlement is caused by excavation of the adjacent divergence tunnel. Therefore, predicting ground settlement using diverse variables is necessary before performing damage estimation. We used the volume loss and cover-tunnel diameter ratio as the variables in this study. Applying the ground settlement values to the settlement induction device, we measured the extent of damage to frame structures due to displacement at specific points. The vertical and horizontal displacements that occur at these points were measured using preattached LVDT (Linear variable differential transformer), and the lateral strain and angular distortion were calculated using these displacements. The lateral strain and angular distortion are key parameters for structural damage estimation. A damage assessment chart comprises the "Negligible", "Very Slight Damage", "Slight Damage", "Moderate to Severe Damage", and "Severe to Very Severe Damage" categories was developed. This table was applied to steel frame and concrete frame structures for comparison.
C. H. OH, S. N. CHOI, T. G. NAM, The Kinematic Analysis of the Tennis Flat Serve Motion, Korean Jiurnal of Sports Biomechanics, Vol. 16, No. 2, pp. 97-108, 2006. By the comparison and the analysis of the different factors during the tennis flat serve motion such as the required time per section, the movement displacement of the racket, the velocity of the upper limbs joints, the physical center of gravity, and the angle and the angular velocity of the upper limbs joints between an ace player and a mediocre player, these following results were drawn. First, the experiment result of the total time required per section in a tennis flat serve motion showed that an ace player was faster than a mediocre player by 0.4 seconds. This result suggested that it was required to increase the speed of the racket head by a swift swing to perform an effective flat serve motion. Second, the experiment result of the movement displacement of the racket in the tennis flat serve motion showed that an ace player greatly moved toward the left side on an x-axis. But both an ace and a mediocre player were shown to be at the similar points on a y-axis at the moment of the impact of the racket. An ace player was also shown to be located at a higher position on a z-axis by 0.23m. Third, the velocity of the center of gravity of an ace player was faster in every phase than that of a mediocre player in a tennis flat serve motion. Fourth, the velocity of the upper limb joints of an ace player was faster in every phase than that of a mediocre player in a tennis flat serve motion. Fifth, the experiment result of the speed of the racket head in tennis flat serve motion showed that a mediocre player was faster than an ace player in the first phase, but the latter was faster than the former in the second, third, and the fourth phases. Sixth, at the moment of impact of a tennis flat serve, an ace player had greater flexion of the angle of the wrist joints by an 11.8 degree than a mediocre player. An ace player also had greater extension of the angle of the elbow joint and the shoulder joint respectively by a 5.2 degree and a 1.4 degree with a mediocre player. Seventh, an ace player had greater angular velocity of the upper limb joints and the hip joints than a mediocre player at the moment of the impact of tennis flat serve. Eighth, an ace player was shown to have a greater change of the forward and the backward inclination (or the anterior and posterior inclination) of the upper body
PURPOSE. The aim of this study was to investigate a comparison of implant bone bed preparation with Er,Cr:YSGG laser and conventional drills on the relationship between implant stability quotient (ISQ) values and implant insertion variables. MATERIALS AND METHODS. Forty implants were inserted into two different types of pig rib bone. One group was prepared with conventional drills and a total of 20 implants were inserted into type I and type II bone. The other group was prepared with a Er,Cr:YSGG laser and a total of 20 implants were inserted into type I and type II bone. ISQ, maximum insertion torque, angular momentum, and insertion torque energy values were measured. RESULTS. The mean values for variables were significantly higher in type I bone than in type II bone (P < .01). In type I bone, the ISQ values in the drill group were significantly higher than in the laser group (P < .05). In type II bone, the ISQ values in the laser group were significantly higher than in the drill group (P < .01). In both type I and type II bone, the maximum insertion torque, total energy, and total angular momentum values between the drill and laser groups did not differ significantly (P ${\geq}$ .05). The ISQ values were correlated with maximum insertion torque (P < .01, r = .731), total energy (P < .01, r = .696), and angular momentum (P < .01, r = .696). CONCLUSION. Within the limitations of this study, the effects of bone bed preparation with Er,Cr:YSGG laser on the relationship between implant stability quotient (ISQ) values and implant insertion variables were comparable to those of drilling.

The flow characteristics of two types of overhung compressor volutes for automobile turbochargers were analyzed numerically using commercial software. For obtaining high performance from a volute, it is necessary that the volute have a high pressure recovery coefficient and a low loss coefficient. We investigated the flow characteristics of two types of overhung compressor volutes with a fixed diffuser inlet angle of $24^{\circ}$ and a mass flow rate of 0.055 kg/s. The first type is a volute with one-arc cross section (type 1) and the second type is with three-arc cross section (type 2). Our results showed that between the two types of volutes, type 2 had the higher pressure recovery coefficient and the lower loss coefficient along the entire angular position.

ISAR(Inverse Synthetic Aperture Radar) images represent the 2-D(two-dimensional) spatial distribution of RCS (Radar Cross Section) of an object, and they can be applied to the problem of target identification. A traditional approach to ISAR imaging is to use a 2-D IFFT(Inverse Fast Fourier Transform). However, the 2-D IFFT results in low resolution ISAR images especially when the measured frequency bandwidth and angular region are limited. In order to improve the resolution capability of the Fourier transform, various high-resolution spectral estimation approaches have been applied to obtain ISAR images, such as AR(Auto Regressive), MUSIC(Multiple Signal Classification) or Modified MUSIC algorithms. In this study, these high-resolution spectral estimators as well as 2-D IFFT approach are combined with a recently developed ISAR image classification algorithm, and their performances are carefully analyzed and compared in the framework of radar target recognition.
